Unbelievable. I feel like i work for a professional company after doing that. I literally cut the tape and straighten the wires out, gave up because there was nothing else i could do, closed it up and doubted it and BOOM, wifi was turned on, searching and connected. Appreciate this video 10/10

I’ve had my LG tv for two years, randomly tonight it stopped working out of the blue, for two hours I tried all the typical fixes like resetting my WiFi router, unplugging and plugging back in the tv; I even went as far to factory reset it, and nothing! I was so distraught googling answers until I stumbled upon this video. I popped open the back of my tv and found the wires just like yours, kinked on top of itself. I straightened them out and voila, tv worked again just like that!! Thank you so much for saving me from having to buy a new tv!

Unbelievable! I spoke to an LG representative last week. They asked me to do the usual, reboot, disconnect and to do a factory reset. Didn’t want to do a factory reset as a last resort. I had rebooted and disconnected numerous times. Saw this video and took the back off of my tv and voila! Straightened all the bent and kinked cables and it connects. Thank you so so much!

I still can’t believe we opened the back of our LG and went through with this whole process. As soon as we turned it back on it was connected to our wifi. Don't know how many times I restarted the modem, router, unplugged TV, tried changing networks, turning location off, calling help centers and Googling methods. I was about to plunk down another $500-$700 to get the same type of TV. Took me 20 minutes and I'm back watching Netflix for the first time in almost a year on my TV. THANK YOU!!

I didn't believe it would work. We've had our LG TV for 5-years. We started having intermittent problems 3-years ago. This year we completely lost Wi-Fi. We knew that it had to be a problem with the TV because the TV couldn't detect Wi-Fi signals from my or any of my neighbor's routers. So, I followed your advice, straightened out the Wi-Fi and Infrared receiver cables and reinforced them with electrical tape. As soon as it fired up, I checked the network status. It wasn't connected, but it did see my router and a half dozen other routers. I selected mine, signed in, and it now works like a champ.
As you mentioned, this is a manufacturing defect.
Thanks for the help. You be the man.

I'm speechless! This makes no sense at all to me, but as a last ditch effort I gave it a try, and it worked. Our TV was acting as if it was under powered as it was constantly freezing up as if it was buffering. Sometimes it would result in the TV rebooting. We constantly saw the "wifi disconnected" followed by "wifi connected" messages, and it drove us crazy.
I took the back off and it looked exactly the same as yours. I straightened the cables to the wifi unit and the darned thing has been working flawlessly for hours. There's some serious voodoo in play here, but it worked so I'm taking it.

100% works, so easy to do yourself. Only struggle might be taking the back panel off if you only have screws at the bottom (a different model TV). You can just run a flat screwdriver inbetween the edges and use slight force to get that back panel off. Great video 10/10 !

I searched for a button and went through every setting I could find, and still nothing worked. I googled it and every video I came across talked about how to setup a new connection by finding your wifi. None of them were of any help, until I came across this video. My problem LG was a 4 yr. old 49in model with the exact same issues. WiFi goes in and out with periodic messages to turn WiFi on. I was ready to call for service as my TV was still under warranty as it was purchased from Costco. Before doing that, I did a search to see if I could find someone with similar issues. To my delight, I found your video. My TV’s insides were somewhat different from your setup, but it seemed obvious which were the WiFi wires. The wires were crimped in two sections. I uncrimped them, reassembled the back and returned to service. WiFi has now been operating without problem ever since. Thanks for your video. It saved me a lot of time and aggravation. Crazy! Have an LG49UJ6300 TV that is about 2 yrs old and we had it hooked up to a cable service and so never needed to use the WiFi capabilities. Switching to TH-cam TV and now getting the wireless WiFi message about "No Internet.. blah, blah, blah" and no networks listing. So off to Dr. Google. Tried the other video suggestions - turn off/on Router, turn off/on TV, Reset TV to factory defaults. None of those worked. Then saw this video. Decide it was worth a try. Opened the back of the TV and saw the twisted cables. Straightened them out and then gave it a try before putting the panel back on. It was magic!! Our networks were discovered and listed immediately!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! This works everyone :-)

I can't thank you enough for this video!!! I've been dealing with this issue for the past two years. Even had the wi-fi module replaced for free with LG warranty. Still after 6 months it stopped working again with the "WiFi is off" error! After that LG would not pay to fix it again. I resorted to getting a Roku stick - which worked well (though I was very annoyed that I needed to use it for streaming) for a long time. Then it happened again - boom I couldn't even get the TV to work via the Roku stick. And oddly enough, sometimes the LG wi-fi would work sporadically. This was an EASY fix just as you showed. LG should have fixed this long ago for all of us like you said. I was seriously thinking about getting rid of this TV and heading to Costco to get a new one. You saved me a lot of $$$ - THANK YOU!!!

Thank you so much! I’d buy you a 🍺 if I could. This worked & it is the only fix that will work. However, you will need a spudger or gentle pry tool across the top to get the back off on newer TVs. The screws really have to go back in the slots they came from or else the backplate won’t seal well. You will spend less time in the case uncrimping wires than taking the backplate off and on.
