First, every single human being has faith. We have faith in many things. I have faith in my car’s ability to take me to work. Faith that when I press the switch, the lights will go on. You both have faith that the chair’s you’re sitting on will the carry you throughout the interview. That’s faith. Another way to talk about faith is confidence or trust. You trust something or someone. The issue is never wether we have faith or not. We all have it. The real issue is faith in what or faith in who? Who or what do you have faith in? Biblical Christianity (a faith-movement that’s centered on who Jesus is: his life, death and resurrection) makes the case for God, who is definitively revealed in the person of Jesus Christ. Christians-or better, disciples of Jesus-are those who have placed their trust or confidence in God as he is revealed in Jesus. Our faith, as christians, is not first and foremost on what God does, though that’s important, but who he is and the things he does for us (life salvation and the forgiveness of our sins). This is very important to understand. I also want to point out the scripture that Mr Dube referenced, the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:34). She had faith that Jesus would heal her. Which why she touched his garments. And Jesus recognized that it was deliberate act on her part. She was desperate for healing, and for a woman with that condition (menstruation was a cause for a woman to be ostracized in that culture) to walk into a crowd was an act of faith. She acted upon a passage from Malachi 4 which talked about the son of man who would come with healing in his garment. It was her trust in or confidence (based on the prophetic Word from the prophet Malachi) in who Jesus was that brought her healing! To the question about a good guy yet struggling, I would like to attempt and answer as follows: @ 1stly, the bible says the Lord our God has secrets known to no one. Basically, the it is difficult to give a precise answer to the question. @ Having said that, I still believe in the word of God that encourages us to make our petitions known to God. Yes, the answers to the petitions arrive at different "speed rates", i.e. sometimes sooner than expected and even beyond what was expected or delayed to an extent of almost giving up, only for the answer to arrive later, compelling you glorifying God for His majestic ways. @ In conclusion, let all people continue to BELIEVE for without FAITH it is impossible to please God.
