OH MY GOD. BJORK, I DID NOT KNOW HOW AUTHENTIC SHE REALLY, TRULY WAS? She used lightning. ACTUAL ELECTRICITY for the song Thunderbolt. What is this amazing woman
I had the pleasure of seeing her in a small venue in New York, the Roseland Ballroom (which is now unfortunately closed). You can feel the pulse of that electricity in your chest. It was an exhilarating experience.
thecannibal .... but she’s worked with more authentic instruments than most artists. Strings on Vulnicura, which she arranged herself, for instance. Harpsichords, glockenspiels, gamelans, singing drums, harps, brass sections.
Bjork is the most innovative artist that the universe has ever seen. Not only does she find ways to enhance her music to genius levels of creativity, she finds ways to enhance music itself. This is the future, hosted by Bjork.
Bjork, þú ert mest heillandi kona með bil barn á plánetunni okkar. Það er alltaf heiður að deila í hátignar getur verið. Þú getur fært fólk aftur til náttúrulega eðlishvöt þeirra og að í a stór vegur. Enginn getur eins og þú, best. Þakka þér fyrir tilveru þína og kosti þína.
@mrtvi46 What I meant: Most artists, music producers use whatever is around, which are in great numbers. Although she did not create these instruments herself, they were created for her magnificent project. I think that within itself is fantastic. But maybe I don't get around so much as you.
I hope biophilia will not be another massive commercial project and it will serve its purpose to raise awareness about other living creatures and the planet Earth as a living organism
@mrtvi46 Actually the 'Sharsichord' was not created for this project. It was in some guy's basment when her team contacted him. I believe only the 'Gameleste' was created for this monumental event. But I stand corrected when I wrote 'these instruments were created for her'.
@amusedbygod The organ wasn't. The Tesla Coil was invented in 1891 and has been used as an instrument by others. The Reactable was developed at a university in Spain. Only the Gravity Harp was created for this project. However, you do have a point in the fact that she's making an effort to find unique and rarely used sounds! :)
@jose2992 what's the problem, man?
This tour must have been amazing. To anyone who attended a biophilia show, be grateful that you had that opportunity.
I still have flashbacks every now and then, the power of electricity and her voice, it was like being on drugs but totally grounded at the same time
But props to the crew and everyone behind the instruments/production for doing a really good job in bringing Björk's concepts to life.

if she was so authentic she wouldn't rely on synthesized bullshit sounds.

Björk is the QUEEN of instrumental experimentation! The apparatuses are totally EXTRAORDINARY!
Her next album's going to use alien transmissions, I hear. Always steps above the rest
Funny because it ended up being a neoclassical record
Arca is an alien I’m sure of it

The Tesla Coil was GENIUS!!!
bjork used thunderbolt! it's very effective!
Adrian Thomas jajaja
Only the genius of Björk could come up with this ❤❤❤
This feels like watching "charlie and the chocolate factory" with the only difference that this is made to product sound instead of chocolate :)
I love watching this video!! The instruments are amazing!!!
Credits to luthier Henry Dagg
those tesla coils are really awesome, great idea
...einfach wunderschön diese instrumente, dankeschöön

love the pendulum harp
This is too much to handle! :O This is going to be a fucking IMMENSE album!

Would absolutely love to see her in concert.

probably the most crazy instrument I ever seen...
Remarkable. This reminds me of when Bjork brought the Lords Of Lightening to New Zealand for the Big Day Out 2008.
@happyjessus I was just thinking that there was a certain Tim Burton atmosphère somewhere!
How can anyone like this? So interesting and clever!

I love the death grips remix of sacrifice!
I hope biophilia will not be another massive commercial project and it will serve its purpose to raise awareness about other living creatures and the planet Earth as a living organism
Awesome & Amazing in Polish Zjawiskowe :)))
@CEIVE4EVER maybe...but you get to see how the synthesizer works here...look at the lightning it makes!!!!
The Tesla coil is so awesome
those electric bolts are sooo cool o_o

The Gameleste too.
this shit is literally why Katya's "sometimes I don't understand anything about science" rubs me the wrong way :DDD
How canyon NOT like this I meant to say, hahaha. I love it!
Who else would think of creating new instruments when the ones that exist just won't do?
genia
idola
C'est une ambiance...
@gatoreloko1 y con eso quieres decir?
When it comes to Björk, the Reactable is already oldschool...
@amusedbygod Everyone who invented an instrument?:)
sick
Y Violeta Parra sólo necesitaba su cuatro. :/
Iceland?? who would have thought¿?!
@mrtvi46 U know what I mean, but that was cute anyway.
@cachaslokas :)
Where's gamaleste?
omfg!
@amusedbygod Well, Björk didn't invent any of those instruments. But maybe you didn't imply that. If that is the case I apologize.
is that a reactable at the end? that's sooo 2007
Guawwww!
Tesla Coil Dubstep

@CEIVE4EVER never
the filming is terrible! the subjects are magnificent!
Such a waste of time; You could get the same sounds with a synthesizer!!!! o_O
It wouldn't sound as authentic with a synthesizer.
@@NathanHautain You can't tell the difference, so...
@@CEIVE4EVER Yes you can. Synths can't reproduce every chord plucking and imperfections real instruments provide. Those add life to a song.
what's wrong with this woman?
