This concert was my first time travel... If I knew I would have stood out so much, I would have left my light colored hat with the yellow band at home😉😂😂
I honestly think it looks like he's edited into the video. But there's another shot of him, on another song I think, where he actually seems to move a little, but I don't know... something about it feels a bit iffy 😅
@Pascal-the-Rascal you can see him talking (or hearing) to someone on his right (from stage left), so i think he is just escort some other who loves NW 🤣
@@AntaryDraconis Yeah well, what I don't get is, even if he wasn't a fan of Nightwish before this show, how did he not become one, standing in that crowd, hearing that music? Oh well, I guess we'll never know 😋
Guy in hat and blue shirt is so mesmerized and paralyzed by what he is witnessing, he can't clap. Floor can do that to you. Sort of like me the first time I watched this concert 5.5 years ago. First thing I had ever seen from Nightwish. Never had heard of them before and I was 71 back then. This is me and my 5 year old granddaughter's favorite video and song of Nightwish. We watch it every time she comes to my house. She says..."Poppy, I think it's time for a story".
I've seen many people paralyzing, not able to move or speak while watching Floor, just tears running from their eyes, the combination of her voice and her presence is unbelievably breathtaking. I believe she's the eighth wonder of the world.
If you remember the movie Queen of the Damned, then you'll remember the vampires in the audience waiting to levitate onto the stage and decapitate the hero with a scythe. He's one of those.
Surely, if there ever would be time travelling, that evening in Wacken would make a great target date. I assume the guy's more likely stoned, as smoking grass is a common thing in huge crowds. Talking about time travellers there is one guy with a hooded cloak, which is seen during "Amaranth", that fitted this image even more. You will recognize that pure human soul, when you see him, because he doesn't seem to fit to that crowd and noticed that he is on tape...
If you want to see and hear more from Tuomas (Keyborder), then I definitely recommend "The Greatest Show on Earth" from the Tampere concert 2015. Another band to watch out for is Epica. Their singer Simone Simons is a very close friend of Floors and its founder Mark Jansen (not related to Floor) played in Floors' former band After Forever. Here I would like to recommend the song "Sancta Terra" feat. Floor.
Nightwish has had 3 front women. Floor is the 3rd and current. She joined in 2012 as a fill-in vocalist when the band had to part ways with the 2nd vocalist mid-way through the North American leg of the World Tour for their Imaginaerum album, released in 2011. This concert at Wacken 2013 was towards the end of that tour. As far as the public knew, she was still a fill-in vocalist here, though she had privately already accepted a permanent position, a fact that was made public a short time later. All of the songs from "Imaginaerum" and previous albums were written for and recorded with one of the two previous singers. The first album with Floor is "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", released in 2015. None of the previous Nightwish catalogue has been re-recorded with Floor, except in a live setting. There are professionally recorded live albums for several concerts since she joined: "Showtime, Storytime" (Wacken 2013), "Vehicle of Spirit" (Wembley Arena 2015), "Decades" (Buenos Aires 2018), "Islander Arms" (Virtual, 2021). The audio for some of these can be found on streaming platforms.
Time traveler spotted! Let the journey continue. Any track from this concert is amazing. If you want to see Floor introduced to this crowd - "Dark Chest of Wonders" from this same show.
Floor is certainly not an opera singer turning metal. Floor graduated from the then new 'Rock Academy' in Tilburg, The Netherlands in 2003 while performing with her first (Symphonic Metal) band 'After Forever. Shortly after graduating she went to the Conservatory for 2 years and studied Opera and Music Theatre (both one year). She calls herself a musical nerd, always searching for more tools to put in her already overflowing musical toolbox. To know Floor better, just go to her TH-cam channel. During home isolation in the Covid years she discovered TH-cam and uploaded loads of interesting content.
Floor is one of our Dutch national treasures. I've been a fan for over 25 years. Her talent and skill are out of this world and she's still a humble and wonderful human being. Hail to the Valkyrie Queen 👸🏻🇳🇱🙌
It is not only her singing but also her appearance. And how she can play fans with her stories. Nightwish is for me the best band there is. Many greetings from the beautiful Netherlands.
Floor was in 2 bands prior to joining Nightwish. After Forever and ReVamp. Marco has or did have a band called Tarot. Marco (bass) and Jukka (drummer) that you see at Wacken are no longer with the band. Jukka(current bass player) and Kai (current drummer) both used to be in a band called Wintersun. Floor is married to the drummer from Sabaton. For one concert only on an emergency basis to avoid cancelling the show the lead singers from Amaranthe and Arch Enemy filled in for lead vocals for Nightwish. Floor is close friends with the lead singer of Epica. Also the founder of Epica was with Floor in After Forever. Floor has made a guest appearance with Epica on stage. Marco and Floor have both worked on the Ayreon music project. Floor's sister Irene works extensively with Anthony Arjen Luccasen the genius mastermind behind Ayreon. The keyboard player Anthony uses for all his music projects was also in After Forever and helped Floor extensively on her solo album. Depending on how far down the rabbit hole you wanna go there is a massive web of connections from other bands. The lead singers from many different bands sing on Ayreon albums or concerts.
If you want to see more of Floor Jansen's stuff without Nightwish check out her performances on tv show "Beste Zangers" all available on TH-cam. A good one to start with Beste Zangers Tv show is Floor singing Phantom of The Opera together with Henk Poort who played The Phantom of The Opera. Floor also sang other genre music on that show among which a Lady Gaga song. Floor also has songs on her own TH-cam channel recorded in her own recording studio at home.
The sound of your microphone and the video is beautiful in Balance, nothing more to change. I have subscribed to your channel! I am looking forward to seeing more reactions from you from Nightwish!
If you want operatic Floor, there's a video out there of her performing Puccini's aria "O Mio Babbino Caro". For an operatic crossover into Nightwish, check out "Shoemaker". And to see Floor just plain having fun, there's "I Want My Tears Back" from their show in Brazil.
There's also Stabat Mater Dolorosa together with Simone Simons during an Epica concert, or Vilja lied during Beste zangers 2019, although that's technically an operetta and she adjusted it with a more rock sound as well
Oh, wow! Yeah! Like, check out the Buenos Aires gig! Her outfit!! (and she was ill, not that you'd know it!!) ... and The "Time Traveller" was less visible too!
Check out Floor guesting with the band EPICA in an amazing duet with friend and fellow Dutch lead singer Simone Simmons. The song is ‘Sancta Terra’ from EPICA’s Retrospect concert. Epica and Nightwish are arguably the best Symphonic metal bands and both singers and bands are amazing
Nightwish army is the right term. Thanks for these reactions ‼️👍🏆 To have more in operatic style try „Sancta Terra feat. Floor Jansen“. It’s a song from the band „EPICA“ - also famous. The lead singer is Simone a close friend to Floor. They are both fantastic within this song…
Want more operatic Floor? Take a look over at "Stabat mater dolorosa" with Epica. Floor is a guest singer there and you'll love it. Also check out "Sancta Terra" from the same concert, also with Floor.
You can find this entire concert on all the usual music-streaming platforms as the live album "Showtime, Storytime". One of the best live albums of all time, no doubt.
Floor has some classical training, but also has jazz, pop, and rock training. She has a natural talent and was gifted with just a great musical instrument.
I'm one of the hugest Nightwish fans for my two cents worth of advice is to do these three songs in order first ghost love score ,story time, which has already been done now you need to do ever dream from the same concert or do the whole concert since it's the best concert in my opinion of all time

Just go with the live version from 2013 and forward to get Floor. All songs on this concert (Wacken Open Air 2013) are from the previous two singers. Floor have only three (3) studio albums with Nightwish: - Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015) - Human :II: Nature (2020) - Yesterwynde (2024) Greetings from NW Army Sweden
"...same little festival you've got goin on..." Oh, young padawan, soo much to learn. Please continue your progress. There's much to explore and understand! Be diligent. Cheers rl 🤘👹🤘
Another great reaction 😃 looking forward to your next one, you should check out Floor Jansen and Hank Poort singing Phantom of the Opera from the Bestes Zangers show! Totally amazing! 😁
You can stream, download and buy the live album from this concert, Showtime, Storytime. It is also available as a concert on DVD and BluRay. Ideal if you want to access these versions of songs that are sung in the studio by Anette or Tarja.
kiwi's conscious and fellow member of the Nightwish Army: What a great reaction to Storytime. If you did not know that you are our fellow member of this Army, I think, we, your fellow members saw it in your face as you were listening to Storytime. Yep-you are hooked! The music of Nightwish is sneeky like that. My sincerest apologies for not subscribing earlier but you now have my subscription. I look forward to more of your Nightwish reactions. Your fellow member of the Nightwish Army, Outpost Eatonville, out.
Hey Keeley…Your joy and appreciation for this awesome band is so much fun to watch. You really “get” them🤘🤘 The juxtaposition of her insane range and presence and this bands hard hitting insane talent is incredible Absolutely kickass. Jukka in Beast Mode on the drum kit…Everyone performing at the very highest level….as usual🤘
And now onto Song of Myself, to continue your Wacken 2013 journey. That one is epic, and was the favorite Nightwish song of Nightwish mom herself, Ann Waychoff, if I recall correctly, R.I.P. You mentioned spinoff bands, if my ears didn't deceive me... yeah, Tuomas, the keyboardist and founder of Nightwish, has two side projects. One is Auri, that he started together with his wife Johanna, and his fellow Nightwish member Troy Donockley. The second is kind of a soundtrack called "The Life And Times of Scrooge" that he made for the graphic novel about Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa. The comics/stories about Donald Duck, and the Duckburgh universe are very popular here in Scandinavia (Tuomas is from Finland, I'm from Sweden), I think even Don Rosa himself was a bit surprised by that.
Hi THere, thanks for the great reaction. To answer some of your questions. Storytime was written for their 2nd Singer Annette. So, the Official Music video, and album track is with her. You will note on these, that Annette doesn't actually sing the "classical"/"Opera" part in the middle. The name of the town where this concert is held, Wacken, is in Germany, hence the W is pronounced as a "V". If you want here singing in the more operatic style for a whole sone, but still a Nightwish song, would be "Stargazers" live at Tampere. Stargazers was written for their first singer Tarja, who was a lot more "operatic" in style, and it fits the song. The guy you noticed with the hat on, not getting into the groove is lovingly referred to as "the time traveler" by the Nightwish Army. I hope you do more Nightwish, and for that, a new subscriber here. Kind Regards from the UK. Oh yes, and the Audio is well balanced, you nailed it!
full opera from Floor, check out "O mio Bambino caro". pure opera during a Dutch programme called:"de tiende van Tijl".( Tijl's Tenth) her a much younger fFloor sings this amazing song.
Floor is 43, married to the drummer of Sabaton, Hannes Van Dahl and had her second daughter about 6 months ago. Surgery for breast cancer a year ago was very successful. The new Nightwish album is doing well and her solo album has very good reviews. She is doing great.
Actually, afaik Floor's second daughter Lucy was born in Oct 2023, about 1 year after her Breast Cancer surgery in 2022 between legs of the bands 2022/2023 tour. Floor recorded the vocals 6 weeks later in her home studio for the new Nightwish album (released in Sept 2024), she was back on stage for a solo show on 6 Dec 2023. Lucy would be about 14 months now.
Some NW band members do have or have had projects separate from NW. Since you are obviously a Floor fan, I'll focus on her. She joined the symphonic metal band After Forever when she was 16. When After Forever disbanded, she formed a band called ReVamp. Since she joined Nightwish, she has had several side projects, some of which are: Fronting the rock band Northward for a single album of the same name. Participating in the Dutch TV show "Beste Zangers" in 2019, which brought her (and the metal genre in general) out of obscurity in her home country. Participating in the German TV Show "Sing Meinen Song" in 2022. Singing the Dutch national anthem at the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix in 2022. She released her first solo album, "Paragon", in 2023.
Metal wasn't obscure in the Netherlands. She had already been on national tv a couple of times before Beste Zangers. After Forever also had a pretty big hit with Energize Me. Epica, After Forever, The Gathering, Within Temptation, Orphanage... they're all Dutch. To name a few. Beste Zangers is just a program that reaches a different audience; far more pop oriented.
@jbird4478 I guess obscure was the wrong word. I know there are a lot of excellent metal bands from there. I’m a fan of several. What I meant was that her appearance on Beste Zangers widened the audience who knew about her and helped dispel stereotypes about metal. She herself saw herself as ambassador for her genre. And it was Beste Zangers that helped launch her solo career.
Floor is the current singer. The original singer was Tarja Turunen until 2005. The second singer was Anette Olzon until October 2012. Floor Jansen was hired to complete the tour through 2013. She was then hired permanently late 2013. The keyboard player is named Tuomas and he writes nearly all the music. The drummer you see in this concert (Jukka) had to leave the band due to medical issues. The bass guitar player Marco (who also sings) also left later on due to health issues. There is another person in the band you don't always have on stage named Troy. He plays multiple instruments and sings. You see him increasingly show up by 2015 concerts, and in the album just released (Yesterwynd) he sings more frequently. When you hear high and low whistles (a flute family instrument) that will be him. When you hear the Uilleann pipes (elbow pipes - sounds like a bagpipe but is smaller and is compressed by the elbow) that's him. There are other plucked and bowed instruments he plays. The guitarist is Empuu - he's a joker - and has a twin! The replacement drummer picked by Jukka is named Kai. This set of 15 songs was really great. About half the songs were written with Tarja in mind in the distant past. The other half were written with Anette in mind - Floor was just filling in here. However, Floor performs all 14 flawlessly (on was an instrumental only song). When Floor changed outfits, there was a minor wardrobe malfunction which she corrected during the instrumental part of "Ghost Love Score". When she returned to sing the end of GLS it was fixed. Gabriel Bardac will show up (if he hasn't already) and provide a guide for you to follow. Not only will the NW Army provide copious comments for you, many will subscribe. We are many. Great reaction!
Hello again. Fun reaction! If you like storytelling, I would recommend always turning on the captions from now on when they are available or just find the lyrics on the Nightwish website, because Tuomas is an amazing poet and Floor is a great storyteller, truly doing his lyrics justice. You will not find any superficial lyrics among the many many Nightwish songs. Looking forward to more reactions from you to this amazing band. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Thank you so much for watching!! Defs in the future going to check that there is captions ahead of time & if not I’ll make sure to look them up & analyze them! Greetings from Colorado!🤩
Great reaction nice shirt too! Soon you'll be ready - NOT YET though - for 'The poet and the pendulum'. Wembley 2015 live. Get a few other songs under your belt first and do some research.
Hi. Nightwish Army NJ reporting... Any performances with Floor prior to album #8, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" released in April 2015, will not feature her on vocals in any studio album. Endless Forms was her first studio album with the band, however, the down side (if there is one), is that they still perform older songs during their tours, but as the Gods would be witness to such magical moments, Floor has somehow managed to make them better. Who knew! 😂 After Endless Forms, they recorded "Human :II: Nature" reased in April 2020, and their last album Yesterwynde (yes•ter•wïnd) was released September 24, 2024. All 3 of Floor's albums with Nightwish are part of a trilogy that Tuomas had in mind since the end of their Imaginaerum world tour in 2013. Basically they all have to do with evolution, nature, mankind, the universe, creation, and everything in between. You're in for quite a journey. So buckle up and enjoy the ride. Just subbed. ❤️ There have been member changes since this tour but I'll fill you in on that on your next reaction. You asked for more "classical" Floor... so react to Phantom of the Opera, from the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers. There she duets with her Opera influence and idol, Henk Poort. It was performed in December 2019 and became such a huge success for Floor in general, especially in her home country of Netherlands that they decided to keep singing it together in her solo shows and eventually with Nightwish. Hope to see your reaction. th-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k8dEOS_rR_vlIIri
The guy in the hat is one of several Health and Safety people. There are several interspersed in the 82000+ audience - I saw them at this concert. People doing his type of job at the Wacken festival get a little cranky because of the behavior of some people. I don't know what it was like where he was standing, but after beer gets sloshed on the dirt it can get mushy. He's probably not enjoying himself as much as the crowd.
You can find the full audio for this concert on Spotify. I'm assuming you can also find it on other music streaming platforms. The album title for the live recording of this concert is "Showtime Storytime". I know Floor's vocals are amazing. She is my favorite of Nightwish's 3 lead singers. Tarja and Anette are also great and definitely worth listening to. If you want to save listening to them for a reaction video that's understandable but if you don't you should definitely go check out the studio versions. Ghost Love Score and Romanticide can both be found on the album Once recorded by Tarja. Storytime can be found on the album Imaginaerum recorded by Anette. Floor is great but so are Tarja and Anette.
Audio is great. Reaction is great. Glad you like the Nightwish experience. I'll throw in an little extra suggestion....... Sancta Terra from Epica. 😉 Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🤘🫡
they recorded new songs with Floor from 2015 and still do ... ;) this concert is from 2013, here she even wasn´t a member of Nightwish - just a tour fillout/ replacement "official" ... love your reactions to Nightwish greetings from Germany
Well my next suggestion is Sabaton , they always tell stories based on true historical facts, my personal favorite is the Christmas truce ( includes the last part with the credits for film crew) in the end you can see who’s singing, the ending credits, hope to see you’re reaction soon
Strictly speaking Floor trained as a classical singer only while already singing with her first band After Forever and that included some opera. She does not sing in an operatic style very often alhough operatic reactors are so impressed with her control and technique. For a short sample search for her singing O Mio Babbino Caro. Or for variety listen to her performing Dreamflight live with After Forever.
The studio version of this with Anette is also really good. I Personally have both that and this live version on my spotify playlist so you can certainly find this one if you wanted on most music platforms.
Epica you will also love I know for sure its its also a great dutch symphonick metal band. Arcana their latest live song would be a good one to start with
If you want more operatic vocal you ll definitively love "Stargazer" Live from Tampere. And by extend a lot a song by TARJA their 1st singer (more classical/operatic)
If I could time travel, this concert would be my first stop. 😄🤘

Check out "Tribal" from the HellFest concert 2022
Imho
Deichbrand is way better
@@christorn8499 And "Masters of Rock 2022" is better than either.
Want more operatic Floor?
Take a look over at "Stabat mater dolorosa" with Epica. Floor is a guest singer there and you'll love it.
Also check out "Sancta Terra" from the same concert, also with Floor.
Floor make the Dutch windmill
You can find this entire concert on all the usual music-streaming platforms as the live album "Showtime, Storytime". One of the best live albums of all time, no doubt.
Thank you! I can see why!!🤟🏼
You saw the time traveller. Good job.
I’m glad I pointed him out🤣
your mic is now fine 👍💖👏 and so is your reaction you got my sub now...
Much appreciated!!🤩
Floor has some classical training, but also has jazz, pop, and rock training. She has a natural talent and was gifted with just a great musical instrument.
Makes a lot if sense she so well rounded & talented, truly an ACE🤟🏼
Good one.
Nice reaction. Greetings from Mexico City 🇲🇽
Thank you so much! Sending love from Colorado!😊
I'm one of the hugest Nightwish fans for my two cents worth of advice is to do these three songs in order first ghost love score ,story time, which has already been done now you need to do ever dream from the same concert or do the whole concert since it's the best concert in my opinion of all time
Just don't do the suggested drinking game for every crowdsurfer if you do the whole concert 😂
Seems like I just might!! I have a few more requests from this concert! Thanks for watching😊
@@stefan6520LOL whole concert would defs leave you blacked out😂
Just go with the live version from 2013 and forward to get Floor. All songs on this concert (Wacken Open Air 2013) are from the previous two singers. Floor have only three (3) studio albums with Nightwish:
- Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015)
- Human :II: Nature (2020)
- Yesterwynde (2024)
Greetings from NW Army Sweden
Thank you for this information very helpful! Greetings from Colorado!😊

Another great reaction 😃 looking forward to your next one, you should check out Floor Jansen and Hank Poort singing Phantom of the Opera from the Bestes Zangers show! Totally amazing! 😁
Thank you so much🤟🏼 Already on the list!!😉
@ looking forward to your reaction. Have a great day. 😁
You can stream, download and buy the live album from this concert, Showtime, Storytime. It is also available as a concert on DVD and BluRay. Ideal if you want to access these versions of songs that are sung in the studio by Anette or Tarja.
Another great reaction may I suggest ghost river from the same wacken concert. Or dead boys poem from Buenos Aires
Thank you bunches!! Added to the list!🤩
There are videos of her doing Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort in a TV studio and with Nightwish both live

kiwi's conscious and fellow member of the Nightwish Army: What a great reaction to Storytime.
Thank you so much for subscribing & watching!!😊 Definitely am addicted!🤟🏼
Hey Keeley…Your joy and appreciation for this awesome band is so much fun to watch. You really “get” them🤘🤘
The juxtaposition of her insane range and presence and this bands hard hitting insane talent is incredible
Absolutely kickass. Jukka in Beast Mode on the drum kit…Everyone performing at the very highest level….as usual🤘
Thank you so much for your kind words!! They’re energy is unmatched!!🤟🏼🤩
You CAN get this song with Floor. Spotify has audio from this concert (whole concert).
🤘😁🤘
As does Apple Music (Showtime, Storytime)
I appreciate all the information & feedback!! Thank you so much for subscribing!!! You’re the best!!! Just put it on the list🤟🏼😊
full opera from Floor, check out "O mio Bambino caro". pure opera during a Dutch programme called:"de tiende van Tijl".( Tijl's Tenth) her a much younger fFloor sings this amazing song.
Thank you for recommending!😊
She deserves it! She’s overcome so much! She is so talented & strong!🫶🏼
You definitely need to check "shoemaker" floor's voice at the end of that song is a m a z i n g!
One of the next ones on my list! Thank you for watching🤟🏼
This is how we write and play music in Finland. Masterclass and beyond. Great reaction. Thank you. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.🎉❤
I love it!! Thank you bunches for watching! Greetings from Colorado😊
Floor is the greatest female vocalist!
I’m hoping for a greatest hits studio album that floor sings, for their 30th anniversary.
That’s an awesome idea!! She truly is!🤩
UK Army popping in for a beer and a little story.
🤟🏼🍺📖
Another great reaction to a killer song! Everdream and Nemo from this concert, please!
Thank you so much!!😊 Added to the list!
🤘💥
🤟🏼🎸
Floor🌷 is the most beautiful dream.. but true.
She truly is a queen!!👑
The whole concert can be found on Spotify or other providers if you want to put it in your playlists :)
Thank you!🤟🏼
this concert is on CD so this song with Floor is out there for you
🤘🙂🤘
🤟🏼🎸🤩
I bought this CD early last year when i 1st heard Ghost Love Score . What i really like about this band is that they give 100% to every song .
Who knew! 😂
After Endless Forms, they recorded "Human :II: Nature" reased in April 2020, and their last album Yesterwynde (yes•ter•wïnd) was released September 24, 2024.
There have been member changes since this tour but I'll fill you in on that on your next reaction.

This one has been requested a lot so definitely close to the top if my list! Thank you so much for subscribing!! You’re awesome🤟🏼
we can recommend all sorts of Nightwish songs...but quite honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their songs!
😍😍😍😍
The guy in the hat is one of several Health and Safety people. There are several interspersed in the 82000+ audience - I saw them at this concert. People doing his type of job at the Wacken festival get a little cranky because of the behavior of some people. I don't know what it was like where he was standing, but after beer gets sloshed on the dirt it can get mushy. He's probably not enjoying himself as much as the crowd.
Ahh this does make a lot of sense!! More concerts should do this but I also understand why they don’t I would be squished😅
Ah, we got a real one here... just watch her face unfold and brings the smile forth as she read the words to the first chorus.
Can’t help it!!🤟🏼
You can find the full audio for this concert on Spotify.
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🤘🫡
Much much appreciated!!🤟🏼 I’ve been getting this request a lot! So definitely going to be reacting to it! Greetings from Colorado!!😊
they recorded new songs with Floor from 2015 and still do ... ;)
this concert is from 2013, here she even wasn´t a member of Nightwish - just a tour fillout/ replacement "official" ...
love your reactions to Nightwish
greetings from Germany
She’s amazing! Thank you! Sending love from Colorado!😊🤟🏼
Thank you!😊
Please react to Ever Dream Live as well! Floor and Marco killed it on stage!
I just think the "Time Traveler" is just really, really, really, really baked.😵💫😀
