I have a takamine ean-10c guitar' spruce top/rosewood back and sides' tried about every string available' the guitar was dull sounding and no volume' tried the aluminum bronze strings and it brought it to life' better tone and increased volume dramatically. I have a Dobro hound dog reso I'm thinking about trying them on for the same reasons' so was wondering if you had ever tried them and your thoughts.

It's the Epiphone hound dog deluxe' has no character to it' dull sounding' barley resembles the sound of a resonator.
