I feel your channel is quite underrated in terms of subscribers. I have been following your channel for so long and have benefited so much from your clear explanations.
I have been able to train my GSD (1 yr now) to a certain extent all by following ur videos.
Thanks a lot! Please keep sharing these valuable tips. 🙂

Thank you for answering my question, really wasn't expecting it. Little note I'm Susan my little farm is called Hector's kmetija 🙂 Doby pup is now 6 and a half months and I'm still intervening, but at least I know this is what I should do. Rather than people saying they will sort it out themselves. Thank you again 👍

?? I have a 15 week old dobermann. As part of his outdoor training/obedience I sometimes use a squeaky toy to get his attention back on me. The problem is I end up like the pied piper with ever dog in the park - followed by dirty looks from dog owners dragging their dogs away. ? Is using this in a public park frowned upon or should I just remain polite, and in my head know its because their dog is unleashed and untrained? Thanks

Teach her here, or come with voice command , you can add a whistle to it so he associates the command with the whistle. Do this at home, in your yard, then with minor distractions.

Hey there! I love & appreciate all of the videos that you post, free of charge, to the dog training community. My question is about tug.
My dog, Winston, is a big fan of chewing & ripping toys to shreds. When playing tug with him, he only wants to lay down where we are to destroy the tug. He has no interest in bringing the toy back for more tug play, and he doesn’t respond to leash pressure or verbal encouragement when chewing the tug. He is self-rewarding by destroying the toy, and I’m not sure how to fix that issue. I want nothing more than to play with him, but it is so difficult & frustrating.
    Thanks in advance!

Work on the leave it or out command first. To out the tug toy. Its not a chew toy. Only play tug when you want to. Not the dog. I used bbq cut up sausage threw on ground using command and rewarded with same sausage when he did not eat. Use high value foods.

That's because he likes the "dissect" and "consume" elements of the game. Attached a light line to the tug and rip it out of his grasp when he takes it off to "dissect".

Hello Robert, I have two GSDs. A male (10 months old) and a female (7 months old). They both listen well when we’re 1 on 1 but when I bring the both of them together it’s all hell break loose. They can play fight all day in a kind of dominant way. And when toys are brought into the equation the male seems to get a little territorial, he allows her too chase him around but if she tries too take it he gives a growl and doesn’t allow the female too play with them too. What should I do?

Hi Robert. Thank you for sharing your dog training knowledge online. I have learned as a member.
My wife and I have 3 dogs. A female dachshund mix, 6 yrs, a female GSD 1yr. Two months ago we rescued a 1yr old Great Pyrenees male (possibly a mix). He's a sweet dog and the three dogs get along very well but he seems to be afraid of the leash, coming into the house, getting into the car etc. He is now coming into the family room after weeks of luring with food but trying to walk him is nearly impossible as he won't budge. He'll plant himself and put on the brakes. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again!

What would you suggest to help eliminate a dog that moves to defend against attack or perceived attack by much smaller dogs?
I have a neighbor whose 10 pound dog breaks free (at least 4 times in 6 months) and runs right at my dogs (leashed with me on my property) barking, lunging and nipping at them.
One of my dogs will jump or move to avoid but the other wants to defend itself. They both weigh about 75 pounds. I don't want to see the other dog injured or killed but I'm also unsure if I should teach my dog not to defend itself. I don't think that would be a good idea if at some point a much larger dog were to attack.

Teach your dog leave it. If the little dog comes at you do a about face and walk away. I carry a small can of binaca breath spray, a little squirt at the little dog will make him think twice nexttime

@@lillieberger2883 Two things: 1. This happens when I'm relaxing with my dogs on my front porch. They are leashed. The dog breaks from its home, barks, charges my dogs, jumps in their faces and tries to bite at them. I have intervened and forced the dog back. On one occasion, I've pulled my dogs off my property and onto that of a neighbor before the owner shows up to get her dog.
      2. I'm not going to modify my behavior on my property because of bad dog owners. I might just punt the offending dog as far as I can next time.

I love that we can let our dogs be off leash so much, but it's a shame owners ruin it for the rest of us who've bothered to train our dogs.

I really hope someone with experience sees this , I just wanted to ask, I have one dog at the moment and want another, but due to a brain injury I don’t have the patience, or the concentration to have a puppy and to train it, however I’m attending rehab. I have to have an operation when it becomes safe to do so, which could be a while, I’ve decided on a breed and have been researching for a while now about that breed, when I and my family are ready we are getting one, but I just wanted to ask how do I bring a puppy into my home and safely introduce my dog to a puppy. Sorry for the whole backstory just thought it was necessary to highlight that I understand this isn’t to be done without sufficient preparation, thanks

Do you have any recommendations for a large dog struggling with crying anytime a dog gets near? It appears he wants to sniff the dogs. He does great when not distracted, respecting multiple commands, but once I take him to the front yard or out of the home, if he spots a dog, he starts crying! He will cry and howl loudly, often lunging to sniff the other dogs. He won’t cooperate with toys or treats!

I love the affection I get from my 1 yr old Pit female.
She was a terror in the house as a pup, I protected my older dog from her too, and as you said, I did give her structure and it wasn't easy or fun but it worked; to an extent. My question; she will use her body to lay on me, especially try to get on my head if I'm lying down. It seems like affection... but it also feels like domination?
