I was actually working for Buick and got to see a couple GNX’s, but I just bought a rare bird! Hey 1986 Trans Am, two seat auto form roadster! Only about 1000 were built between 84 and 86 and I got the 11th to the last one built, it was a General Motors approved conversion offered at the dealership For $6000 extra on top of the $14,000 for the car! Not a lot of examples left, but I got a California Jewel!❤

Also just FYI, the fibreglass bodyshells of Ford's homologation special RS200
cars were built by Reliant in England. The firm was most famous for making
the Regal and the Robin 3 wheelers. They were much derided by wanker
extraordinaire Jeremy Clarkson.

Where you're saying "the AUDI Quattro" the car on screen is an Opel Manta,
which was just as much rear wheel drive as the Lancia 037 STRADALE just
before it.

known as the Opel Manta. Vauxhall did do a sports hatch version
of the Cavalier, but not the much more sleek Manta shape sadly.

I would say that the Buick GNX was not the last hurrah of traditional America muscle, but one of the standard bearers for renewed performance. Not only did the GNX boast a turbo V6, but it served as part of 80s American performance such as the Monte Carlo SS , the Ford Mustang GT and Taurus SHO, but certain Japanese carmakers started getting in on their own muscle car stuff. Look at the Nissan Maxima GXE from 1988: 190 hp in a lighter front drive sedan. My uncle had one and it was quick.

who here remembers the BMW Z1?? 2 seeater 3 door... to get in you'd press the button on the "door" and the window would start to go down.... then the DOOR DROPPED INTO THE CHASSIS OF THE CAR! Google it! My dad had one and it was beautiful.. they're classed as one of the worst cars ever made these days but damn! was it cool!
If it was parked up and the alarm set, if people got too close it bellowed "YOU ARE TOO CLOSE TO THIS VEHICLE. MOVE AWAY OR THE ALARM WILL SOUND!"
