Thank you again, Winters for another excellent battle report. Both armies were well-played and well-painted. The Sons of Horus army is the best painted of its legion that I have seen.
Horus, "Brother! Come back!... I won't hurt you!... I promise!" I imagine Horus sounding like Hulk Hogan 🤔😄 Just Craig is a great opponent. I'm looking forward to his return.
Winters you can run your sky hunters as a command squad to be a bit more punchy, having a 2+ save with WS5, and an assortment of power weapons and lightning claws is not bad. The only downside of the command squad is they can only take heavy bolters for their guns and they are even more overcosted haha. But you want a punch Skyhunter unit, any legion can do this.
Excellent game to watch while waiting for my Night Lord test model to dry! Was super close, packed with epic moments, and seeing Corax and Horus take to the field was a treat. Awesome stuff winters!
Glorious Battlereport, I have 30k Roboute painted up and I would love to take him up against an Emperors Children army some time. Maybe I should look into making a “Terran relief Crusade” battle force sometime. I love seeing all these old rules from older 40K editions in play
Really interesting to see both Primarchs slumming it on their own. I've been wondering how on earth to run Fulgrim Transfigured, after seeing this I think I might take advantage of his huge movement and run him as a distraction carnifex!
A fantastic batrep with some beautifully painted minis! I'm currently working on my Imperial Fists armoured spearhead, but each time I see Sons of Horus, I get closer to being tempted to start a new army!
I’ve just managed to paint up just over 2.5k of dark angels with another 4k odd to be painted. It’s a long old slog but I’m loving getting to the point where I can have options at the list build 👌🏼
Say you don't have Dark Angels in your player group without saying you don't have Dark Angels in your player group. "The Sons of Horus have the worst reaction in the game"
Once per game in response to being charged, a Dark Angels unit can take a Leadership test. If successful they gain, Fearless and Fear (2) until the end of the next turn. If the test is failed, then they gain Stubborn and Fear (1) instead.
@@TeutonicKnight92 For someone who doesn’t play Horus but if I did would debate between Dark Angels, Warhounds (piss on Angron’s grave for me) or Nightlords, what’s that mean?
@@shadowofhawk55 Fearless: don't take LD tests. Fear (2): They cause fear and the enemy must take a leadership test at -2 leadership if they charge or are charged by them. Stubborn: Always take leadership tests at full LD value (so Fear doesn't work and losing members of their squad doesn't affect them for morale tests.)
Im currently starting the horus heresy, I have two identical armies, one is Imperial fists and one is Iron Warriors. So both armies are the box Age of Darkness and a dereedo dreadnought. However got a question. When do chaos stars start to appear on tanks and shoulders? I want to make my Iron warriors a bit More choasy but I am not really sure what to do except putting down some skulls, bodies and discarded helmets. Any suggestion would be greatly appriciated!
What guns are being used for the Recon Squads? The paint job on this army has made me want to start Raven Guard - but I am not sure where I would get all of the guns with silencers (shown on the Mark 6 marines on the right side) - They don't look like standard Forgeworld recon squads or like the Raven Guard specific recon squads. Thanks.
Hi Winters, please can we see some Ad Mech on the channel for tier 1 members? A big ask I know… but it would be amazing to see you playing your Ad Mech army 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Hey winters, when a unit does a movement reaction you use the highest initiative. So the cataphractii would move 5" (reduced to 4" by heavy) thanks to the centurion present
With Vehicle is not only allowed to shoot defensive weapons back? To make the charge disordered you need to make a leadershiptest to succed the reaction.
Maybe I'm wrong but are drop pods only available with Drop Pod Assault? If you run with Drop Pod Assault doesn't everything that's not in a pod need to come in from reserve at board edge? If I can bring drop pods without drop pod assault I will using a lot more pods.
Yeah those units should have never been placed on the board. They were considered destroyed because the must have been deployed, but they were blocked.
Does anyone remember what battle report had the single small infinity takes out one of the Aldari giant titan with one shot left? I can not remember for the life of me, can’t find it
In my local club Heresy is growing! I am building up thousand sons, and my friends are doing Iron hands, Iron warriors, Ultramarines, Custodes and Mechanicum!
Yeah, not sure i like the raven guard. I felt the army was half the size. Models look so good however points and rules for HH are just too janky for me to get into it.
the raven guard work amazing in HH2.0. the list he is using for them in this battle report looks pretty but is lacking their most useful units, which are mor deythan with combi-volkites... deliverer cataphractii terminators, which can deepstrike... and the #1 unit, the dark fury assault squad, which corax really should have as a retinue for himself, and are one of, if not the most powerful-offensively jump pack squad in the game. the raven guard don't have the toughest units, but they hit really hard and can really benefit from taking a lot of short range shooting units to alpha strike in turn 1 with their ability to infiltrate the majority of their infantry. concerning balance, with a few exceptions, i've found horus heresy to be far more balanced army to army then 40k is, especially if both players play astartes legions. in yed general, the majority of games i've played in HH have been very close ones, which I love and showcases well balanced armies. hope you give it a try. i've really enjoyed it, much more then 40k these days.
i kinda stopped playing 30k when 10th 40k dropped. Ironically, it was after i finished painting my Perturabo, the Iron Warriors primarch. So i have a primarch thats never seen the table....
There is something about Horus Heresy that just seems more tactical and interesting than 40k matches.
Just a shame its so marine focused. The most interesting game focuses on the most bland faction
Thank you again, Winters for another excellent battle report. Both armies were well-played and well-painted. The Sons of Horus army is the best painted of its legion that I have seen.
I was amazed how much more figures (or units) the Horus army had for the points compared to the Raven Guard, but in the end it was a good match.
That multi-melta bike unit would have been reeeeeeeaaallly expensive.
300pts in Nemesis Bolters alone!
Horus, "Brother! Come back!... I won't hurt you!... I promise!" I imagine Horus sounding like Hulk Hogan 🤔😄

Winters - that army is beautiful. Those bases 😍
Another great battle report. Both armies were great and evenly match.
Please keep them coming! I'd love some thousand sons on the channel.
The brother that saw Horus for who he really was... An egotistical, glory hogging, daddy loving twonk.

Really? Why is the 1st Legion’s bad?

This request was for 40K by the way, not Horus Heresy. My bad for posting it on a Heresy bat rep x
good battle report again. I like when you do Horus Heresy because you do narration well

Great bat rep! Did you forget the Heart of the Legion rule for the tactical squads?
Where are those rock terrain from? the big pieces look awesome!
Great match! More Heresy please 🙏.
Drop pod assault allows them to charge out of the big heavy drop pod ... is good for a Primarch and elite unit.
Another one coolest battle report! But on the last turn for raveguard: why not shooting rhino by snipers and not hiding hero biker?
Awesome game! It really makes me want to make an army
I am thinking of starting a Loyalist army of salamanders and Vulkan or Iron warrior and have Barabas Dantioch as commander
With Vehicle is not only allowed to shoot defensive weapons back? To make the charge disordered you need to make a leadershiptest to succed the reaction.

I thought the RG reinforcements in outflank auto die due to not being able to be placed. Did they change that?
Yeah those units should have never been placed on the board. They were considered destroyed because the must have been deployed, but they were blocked.
Sorry but... how did the snipers pop the Rhino? S5+d3 does not equal 11+. Where did the extra 5 strength come from?
shooting vehicles is strength + 1d6; so in this case its 5 + 1d6, and also an additional +d3 for any rending hits.

Forge World Riza. Standard mkIV pattern. Just fill in the right docket.
