    Yes, Layne did that with just his mouth. He is an amazing beatboxer and his arrangements are so good. Geoff just released a new video today and VoicePlay released their last video with J. None yesterday, it's a cover of Man In The Mirror, you should check it out. I think you would like that one and their Queen in 5 Minutes video too. I love VP they are incredible

      Hey Trisha :) That is absolutely incredible! I'm blown away by the beatboxers in VoicePlay and Home Free! I spotted Man in the Mirror in my subscriptions :) It's so weird seeing cool songs come up and knowing that I need to have my lights and camera on before I can watch them!

      @@CoverCoach I think to say that it was made with _just_ his mouth is a little deceptive. Layne recorded the sound and then it was altered in post processing. Essentially all of the percussion is altered in post, either isolating the high end or running it through a filter to get the desired sound. I personally much prefer unaltered Acapella, but Voiceplay and Home Free (Who also do the same type of adjustment on the percussion) are my two favourite groups nonetheless.

      Misty Mountains Cold is my favourite from Geoff. I can get all of the notes myself, so I love to sing along and have been watching a lot of Geoff's tutorial videos on how to sing low notes. I've learned a lot from him in the past few months. I can now almost Match Geoff note for note, but I'm not a professional singer so, I don't have the same power he has.

    Yes it was his mouth. I fully believe that Layne stein was either built by Yamaha or at the very least delivered on the factory floor. Nobody can convince me otherwise.

    Nice work, darlin! I loved your reaction, especially when Geoff came through with that viking-esk foghorn sound.
    I've gotta say, my personal favorite part of the video is when Eli (pronounced "Ellie" -- the tenor with the smoky black triangles under his eyes) absolutely sends the chorus with that almost fried tone in his voice. The passion and range, stunning stuff.
    I'm glad you're continuing to react to Voiceplay's work, I hope you remain amazed!

    Oh, man! My butt is still shaking from Geoff's earthquakes! 🥰
    Their style is very unique, and they really get into character!
    Yesterday (May 28) VoicePlay released a cover of Man In The Mirror, you should check it out! It's bittersweet, as it's their last video with J None, the baritone, who just left to join the Navy Band.
    And today Geoff released his cover of Saddle Up. It's so much fun, I love it 🥰🥰

    There are no beatboxers touching Layne Stein or Adam Rupp of Home Free for their innovation and techniques. These two are on a level that's different; they are vocal sound-effect experts, on top of world-class beatboxers.

    • @CoverCoach
      @CoverCoach  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    5:38 - "It was like he did it in reverse!" This is making me giggle, because he made that sound by doing a type of ingressive trill, so it was literally the reverse of how we normally make sounds 😂
