I love how people forget Vince grew up poor before having to WORK for his dad. And yeah he had New York but if he missed any of those quarterly payments he was out the company. I don’t like Vince but I respect the hell out of him. He went from poor to ride a wave at any point could’ve put him back there again to billionaire.

Agreed. AEW embarrassed him by beating NXT (even though it was developmental, and a D show if that) and getting his baby taken from him. The Game is not going to let that slide. I expect a lot more counter programming, and probably grabbing some of AEW's better talent just as a fuck you.

Tony has been poking WWE for over a year now. His talent has as well. He has no reason to be surprised that they don't like him over there lol. Bashing WWE became a part of AEW's culture. Thankfully, guys like Bryan Danielson refused to play that stupid game. Nobody wants a supershow. WWE doesn't gain anything from it.
It’s a case of him having his cake and wanting to eat it too (to grab popcorn headlines). He talks about collaborating between the companies and then in the same breath mention how he beat them or how they did some wrong to AEW. He isn’t treating the WWE like the giant conglomerate as much as he should (mainly due to the arrested emotional development)

This exactly. Instead of just being an alternative to WWE and another place for wrestlers to work he chose to target spiteful and fickle fans. AEW is entertaining and being able to say cuss words, death matches, and blood SHOULD be cool and atrract teens and young adults. Instead it's targeted either to indie dorks who'll duel chant literally anyone put in a ring or 40+ guys who have watched decades worth of wrestling who still chasing the high from decades ago and can't fully walk away.
I was excited of AEW's inception because I wanted to have a good alternative to wrestling rather than just watching only WWE since WWE wasn't that good back then. But then I came to realise that AEW is a weird WWE hating cult 😒
@@commanderrg101 i like when ECW was up and coming, and targeted both top companies. The fans knew exactly how to react to it. They were a small company without a lot of money. It felt genuine. It was fun. AEW'S owner starts with a lot of money, and keeps telling everyone has a lot of money. There is nothing genuine or passionate about that. And they're trying to do the same stuff ECW did in a little hall in Philly, 25 plus years ago. It's stale now.

Been waiting for this and the Gunther vs Sheamus vid since the weekend. The fact that Tony thought WWE was going to be easy like Impact and NJPW to work with is laughable.
When he said "I don't feel the same reciprocation from them" my initial thought was Tony is stupid. When has the WWE ever been friendly with competition? I don't understand how he could be so completely naive when he's supposed to know and love wrestling. The history of WWE/WWF has been one of attempting to and crushing its competition.

The WWE doesn't have to do anything. Tony is starting to crack. He can't handle all the jobs he has now. He won't last much longer if he doesn't get more help.
I think WWE has known that they were going to crack a long time ago. I remember when AEW started and WWE was trying to lock people down so they wouldn't go there. After Vince saw what AEW was, he was like "here, have 100 of our guys, we don't give a shit" and Tony signed up a lot of them while bragging about his A-show beating WWE's developmental brand.
@Dexter Cumberbatch true. It's not as thought AEW is the only entity TK owns, either. So yes, he needs to get a few more people to help him. Preferably people who are well-respected, eg. William Regal, Arn Anderson, Tony Schiavone (who, I believe, is now TK's "right-hand man").

Regal knows so much from the iner workings to training and everything in between . I think soon hell relize regal and a few others could help him lock down all the caos at the moment and build the company to what it could be . Hes has the money and the passion and the talent in so may pockets of the company to back it up he just needs a little help is all .

He’s almost 70 and I saw him last week with a haircut my 15 year old son has and the piercings, I mean just act professional, you don’t have to dress like the “cool kids” in hopes they will like you and listen to what you have to say. Brian was being very biased about Tony, AEW has been poking the bear for 3yrs straight and now the WWE is in "zero fucks given" mode. The problem with the whole underdog mentality is that the underdog is allowed to do/say whatever, but people get upset when the big dog fights back. Tony needs to worry about his own company and stop talking shit about the WWE.

WWE just had a national scandal take place and the patriarch of the business and only owner they ever had to step down while the rest of the company is being reorganized daily. I remember Paul Heyman talking about going up against Vince again. He described it akin to going up against the most competitive man in the world. I think he said something like "he competes against his own sneezes".
I don't think HHH is any less competitive. If anything, I think it is potentially worse for AEW.

Tony announced All Out in July.
They didn't counterprogram against him. If anything it was vice versa.

All out was a poorly booked show, especially the main event. He's using WWE as a scapegoat to excuse his failures as a booker. He talks all this shit about WWE and Vince ignored him. He knows that HHH and Stephanie will get in the mud with him and he's terrified. This press conference made him look weak, incompetent and paranoid.

EVPs should be immediately fired. They have fooled tony into getting all their friends and turned aew into all friends wrestling with trampoline cowboys. When Tony Khan tries to brag about how much money he has, and that it somehow makes AEW beter, I feel like it really just diminishes himself and his promotion... because its not like he made that money from wrestling/AEW. He didnt even make that money. Its his dad's. So its not like he's even a talented businessman. He may as well be yelling "I'M DIXIE CARTER!" When AEW is turning more of a profit, then brag about money.
Well in this context I don’t think he was bragging about it as much as he was saying that he won’t be easily bullied out of the market because he has the finances to fight whereas JCP didn’t have the resources to fight WWE.

Jim was initially excited when he heard a billionaire was starting a rival promotion, because competition in the wrestling business is good for everybody. That quickly turned into disgust when Tony told him personally that the Young Bucks were his business partners.

As much shit as he talks about AEW at the end of the day the last thing Jim seems to want is for them to go out of business. Jim is so emotionally invested in the business of pro wrestling it seems like he gets so pissed because he’s seeing a golden opportunity squandered due to incompetence/the ability to maintain control. He’s given advice both in person and on his podcast, albeit with a lot of negativity, and a lot of what he’s been warning about is starting to come to fruition. It must be like standing on the train tracks and seeing a catastrophe coming even before the train leave the station much less seeing the train barreling down on you.
Tony Khan conplaining about contract tnapering is ridiculous. Tony Khan was booking the Dark Order with the idea of Brody Lee or Matt Hardy being the head of the group months before Lee was released and Harry's contract came up. Guys were trying to get out of WWE contracts becuase Tony Khan already had set out spots for them.
Brodie directly said on Twitter that he wanted out of his contract. They wouldn't release him, and extended it because of an injury out of spite. He was never going to re-sign with WWE. There was nothing to tamper with. If Brodie had his way, he would've already been in AEW.

We’re all fans of this circus so we’re used to this chaos since it’s been like this for the last 20+ years. Anyone who isn’t even just a bit emotionally invested in this with any common sense would say this is a bad use of our resources. To Cole, KOR, Soho, Keith Lee, Swerve, Tony is just a pay check, but they are totally loyal to triple h and they will go to war for him.

I am sometimes complimentary of Tony Khan. But now I'm convinced that he sometimes loses the plot. There was NEVER going to be a AEW/WWE collaboration. Perhaps though, only after the CREST & COLGATE superpaste, and the KFC / POPEYE'S super sandwich, the FERRARI & LAMBORGHINI supercar, and the CANADA DRY / SCHWEPPES superale. How did WWE counter program all out when their main show was on Saturday and NXT was early afternoon and I believe was also over before the Buy in Also WWE is on Peacock for like five dollars versus whatever all out costs how the hell did that affect his numbers
All Out was $50 and in some places $60. I got both WWE PPVs for 5 bucks so of course they are much easier to watch. I can justify spending 5 dollars on 2 events than possibly $60 on a PPV that is so long I can’t even watch all of it because I had to work in the morning. (I unluckily didn’t get Labor Day off at my job)
