I was at this game. It was surreal as the fog rolled in as the game unfolded. The scene at the end when the winning kick sailed through the uprights (which I couldn't see because of the fog) was amazing as the fans erupted, ran onto the field, and tore down the goal posts as the players rolled around in joy on the field. I drove down from New Jersey with my cousin and I'll never forget it. My son gave me an autographed Bert Jones jersey for Christmas last year. The best gift ever.

The famous Fog Bowl. One of the most memorable games in Colt history. Colts would win the division, but lose in the playoffs all 3 seasons of '75-'77. The 76 squad was by far the best but wasn't close to the overall quality of Pittsburgh, but no doubt those 3 years the Colts were as exciting to watch as any team.

I was in 5th grade when I saw this game on TV. I couldn't believe that a win by my beloved Colts would put them on the verge of winning the division after 3 consecutive losing seasons between 1972 and 1974, each one worse than the previous. The following week after this epic overtime contest, the Dolphins played a nationally-televised game against the Broncos on Saturday, which they won......that meant that the Colts had to win their game the next day against the Patriots to win the division, which they did. The fact that the Dolphins' game the following week was scheduled for Saturday instead of Sunday could not have worked out better in terms ratings, and it made it extremely interesting to see what the Colts would do the next day against the Patriots. The Colts were 9-4 and the Dolphins were 10-4, but the Colts swept the season series to give them the-breaker in case they both wound up with the same record (which they did, at 10-4.)

A lot of us believed the future was bright for Bert Jones and the upstart Colts in 1975. But the Steelers and the Raiders would make sure the Jones Era Colts would never win a playoff game. Good comment Greg. Nat Moore had those 6 points and that would have sealed it for Phins..did not know about McVay’s granfathet. Zonk, kiick and warfield were originally going to play in Toronto - which was granted a WFL franchise. The Toronto franchise was owned by John Basset a Canadian broadcasting mogul. The provisional name was to be the Northmen. The Canadian football league protested vehemently - and the Canadian government pressured Basset to move his tea to USA to preserve the CFL. Basset moved the franchise to Memphis - where they were the Southmen. The 3 Miami stars never really tore up the WFL and the league folded after their only season in Memphis. He went 11-5 in 2008 without Brady...great coaches who could coach in any era.

Belichick was on the coaching staff of the team who beat the great Shula in this game.

One thing we found out is that the Belichick coached Patriots finished the 2020 NFL season with a 7-9-0 record their first year without Brady. New England ranked 30th in passing offense and 27th in overall offense. Meanwhile, in his very first year with his new team, Tom Brady leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to an NFL Super Bowl championship and is rewarded with an astounding 7th winning Super Bowl ring at the age of 43 and a half. NFL seasons 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 Brady wins the Super Bowl (a current every 2 years trend), as well as NFL seasons 2001, 2003, 2004 further back. Preposterous!!!

Griese out. Back-up Earl Morrall out. Just third string Don Strock left at QB for Miami. If Strock had been injured, I guess the Dolphins would have had to suit up Don Shula as QB .........
