I hope this doesn't upset anyone. I would rather have Pat Hand machine instead of a game like Hook. I don't need a machine talking to me. Great job again Ron and Joe. She turn out great and somebody is going to own it for years with a smile on their face.
I love this pinball. When I was young my dad had 1. He died in 1988. After looking for it 5 years (because of not knowing name, manufacturer and because the every pinball manufacturer farted out 2 new machines every month in the 70's...) I bought 2 of these. 1 is playing, the other one I am getting parts for it to restore it and hoping it to play again. Thanks Joe for restoring this one and explaining how things work in this machine.
Outstanding Ronnie. Really great revival of this old classic. Like the old AC/DC song says “I tell you folks it’s harder than it looks”. …harder to fix it than it looks, and harder to beat the machine than it looks. …. Perfect.
Thanks for our continuing education.
You've sorted that one out perfectly, well done. Great video Ron. Love the out door filming showing your shop, i now know where to come😁
Absolutely hilarious!! I was sitting there laughing saying out loud, "he's doing Big Poppa Pump math!!". Just when I thought I couldn't appreciate Ronnie's humor any more, he goes and lays this on us. Top shelf my good man. Top shelf.
Holla if ya hear me 💪😁
Same!
ME:
He can't be doing Steiner Math....
He IS doing Steiner Math! XD
Jaw hit the floor when you started doing Steiner math.
As the Score Motor Turns... the continuing story of a dedicated technician reviving cool old pinball machines! Today's episode: "It's Broke in an Interesting Way!"
Fun stuff as always! I love learning from you about how the EM pinball machines work! 😎
Joe! They always break in interesting ways!
Great pinball machine. I love that playfield. ❤♠♦♣
Big Pappa Ron. That is one of my favorite promo’s
People act like that was a bad promo, that was easily one of the best ever
Even ol Naytch approves that comment ..Wooooo 😁
But if you add Kurt Angle into the mix….. I’ve watched that countless times.
Really enjoyed the score motor timing breakdown. Thanks for sharing. Regards
Awesome resurection:)
I travel for a living and stumbled across Pinball: them man who saved the game movie on my last flight. It's corny but pretty good. For us pinball freaks it's a good watch. Keep up the good videos! Have a great weekend!
Great wrapup and testing . The 50 percent gain in probability, loosing it down the middle is in your control more too . That's the pinball wizard skill , having the shots . Better than the sidelane chewing it up , focus the the flipper dancing , less is more .
Listening to the score motor and the reels resetting brings back memories of bowling alleys, airports and motels. Machines with stains from burnt cigarette butts and the smell of slightly overheating coils, lamps
and fabric insulated wires.
Yup, the smell is part of the memory!
People don't know the past amusement machines. Thankyou you know.
Thank you for another wonderful Friday unwind. You didn't have to do that! I appreciate you.
You show me a better understanding of the score motor.
Looking forward to your next Jukebox video Ronnie..great video here as always however 👍..making you guys world famous here in New Zealand wearing my 'Its broke' t shirt out and about 😁
So cool that pinball machine, but what a great shop windows view! Arcade tec-wizard's night shift.
Congrats on another saved pin, but the statistics you mentioned are so sharp, that almost cuts into one's desire to even play it...
Again, very nice work pulling that one back to life! Pat Hand looks kind of exotic and odd game, but cool backglass, with the poker card lady like a japanese Geisha.
Cheers 🇵🇹
Beautiful chimes
I really like the artwork on this game
A 70s Asian vibe
Very cool
Good Job, as always, Ron. Thanks
Hey Ron!!
Nice outcome. I hope the shop's insurance is paid up and includes the all important "crash caused by good looking pinball and arcade game shown in store's front window" clause. 😉
Looks good Ron. Thanks for the video!
Cool game. Great fast action at the lower left and a nice fast shot on the upper flipper!
Looks like it plays perfectly! Great job bringing it back to life.
That machine (Pat Hand) is all kinds of cool. I really like how different the play is. The pop bumpers are down low and no left hand out-lane (or slingshot) on the left side. It gets incredibly lively. There are lots of "shots" in it.
Your paint work on the playfield is nothing short of incredible...particularly around the pop bumpers. I was mesmerized when you did that on a previous video. Absolutely stunning.
I'm curious about a couple of things:
1) Does the game play/score differently in 5-ball versus 3-ball on this machine?
2) Are the flippers spaced a bit wider since there since there is only 1 out-lane and the bottom-left seems to almost play itself? They look a little wider than typical machines.
Thank you, on this one there is no difference between 3 and 5 ball. With the missing left lane though, there is a 116 2/3rds chance that you lose the ball down the middle, I did the math
Turned out great. Fun looking game too. Cheers.
Love the 'LOOK BACK' @24.45 Fun effect.
The Pop bumpers area very powerful. Nice game!
Sweet! Love those numbers!
I love play fields that have unconventional pop bumper and drain hole layouts. In my opinion both Pat Hand and Spanish Eyes have these characteristics and I really would like to play both sometime. I also like what you did with frosting out the back glass with the scattered pin holes. I was curious if there were supposed to be blinking bulbs in the back box behind the name? Good job, it looks very good.
Thank you I needed that laugh.
Yeah, that one issue could have been switch bounce or something. So a tad more clearance might have been all that was needed to make it kick out only once.
As for the paint, I have an idea, but it is not practical. I sure as heck don't have the patience to paint it with a toothpick.
Ron, I’ve really enjoyed watching and studying along with your Pat Hand videos as I work on mine (thanks to your videos I have learned more in the last 3 weeks about my EM than the entire 39 years I’ve owned it. Still having issue with the top 5 rollover buttons. They don’t ever change the 5 3000 point target lights at the top. Mine is forever stuck on the first light position. Any thoughts on what I should be investigating?
Go to the back and see if your match unit will even move if you pull the plunger in. It may be gummed up and the relay is telling it to move but it can't physically.
@@LyonsArcade thanks Ron! I will check it!
What does the SETUP Relay do? what is it setting up. What are the Forward 5 CAM and Forward 6 CAM doing to the timing, they are moving the score motors switches forward you mentioned?
The setup relay 'sets up' the double bonus relay... the first time you get all the rollover buttons the setup relay trips, the next time the double bonus relay does since you already set it up!
The Forward 6 Cam just trips a little before the 6 cam, so it's slightly before or forward of the 6 switches.
@@LyonsArcade thanks for the info I appreciate it
Joe could condense the list into two words, in slang grammar.😮
Nice job on the cabinet paint job. What kind of paint did you use? Planning on touching up the front of the cabinet on my old williams full house just like you did with this machine.
Fantastic game!! You always say you didn't have to film it for us. However, if you didn't film it for us we couldn't go to your Amazon link. Just saying! ;-)
Well you don't have to go to the amazon link so we didn't have to film it for you
So funny how the math just kept on adding percentages hahaha
Code translation: IT'S BROKE!
I concur with that assessment.
Sometimes Ron doesn't get right to the problem like Joe. 😁
what people don't know is that pinball is a skill game that takes a lot of hand eye coordination. sigh this makes me want a pinball game of my own to play i miss having an arcade to play at
Thanks for filming these for us! :D
I think thouhg your grasp of percentages and statistics might be a little out there, you can't do addition and subtraction on percentage chances that are inter-related (meaningfully). Each flip of a coin is 50/50 chance, but it doesn't make 100% chance flipping it twice to get both, nor does the chance of getting the other side higher nor lower. Each flip remains an independent percentage of 50% chance of either side. The chance of losing the ball would be very complex to calculate accurately. Though the chance of loss, should, always be very very close to 100% (without flipping, tilting or other factor) and of course can never exceed 100%. I say nearly 100% because there is always the possibility of the ball becomming "lost" or "stuck", again being accurate may be impossible.
So... I guess your calculations are just as good as any other for entertainment purposes! :D
