Apex is a game of limited information. Ex: someone can be hiding around a corner where you can't see them. So you have to make decisions with the information you have. Sometimes you make a decision that results in you dying. Phrases like "Hindsight King" and "Hindsight is 20/20" apply to when someone learns where the enemy was after they were already in a dead position and then retroactively make a statement about what they should have done to avoid it. The problem with this thinking is that back then you had no way of knowing where the enemies were. So it's impossible to apply that to any future scenario. It's useless. "They were left so we should have gone right" is completely useless information because they had no way of knowing the enemies were right until they ran into them. Zer0 is talking about likelihoods because that information can be known based on info like man scans. Hal's information is impossible to know in the moment, so it's irrational to apply it to strategy going forward. I've noticed a pattern of Hal "making excuses" when it comes to situations that make him look bad. Likely he views his reputation as another game just like Apex, and making excuses is to his advantage so he does it by default even if he knows it's false. But that's pscyhoanalyzing and can't be known and might be unfair. But I have watched (and rooted for) him for a long time.
