I wanted the lady character , actress ? , exposed that she murdered those women buried in holes with pines . I think a movie where the bad element win is not a good thing and plus morally so ( To connotate only evil power wins is just not a good thing since it suggests to many to actually want to live being evil to the fellow man thus shootings on the news the tip of ice berg ). I do know other ways people pay for committing evil in the afterlife. So really bad never escape suffering for their crimes if they think they escaped .
If you have a scary or horror movie you create one with even evil ghosts being punished which makes it far more interesring if you ask me . Enrich the plot story by ghosts being terrified for the hideous actions at the end of certain movies . Which maybe somone producing movies will think this scenario over well to add in . Many ways bringing back good ole style stories like these similar ones with added "new" richer, deeper scanarios or plots . I think old movies are good if they have morality is winning rightly premises in them . Today as the last 20 years morality ideals removed from movies is likely why they really aren't anything good . If you remove differences between good and evil what would the point be ??

Hi, I'm a fan of horror flicks, The Macabre, in film and novels. A favorite film is Rosemary's Baby- try to imagine that film "without" Ruth Gordon- wouldn't be the masterpiece it is. And Harold and Maude, one of those low budget fliks which became a classic- we're lucky to have it given poor Bud Court's very sad life- I enjoyed his performances, "the perennial young, naive, boy" waifish if you can apply that adjective to a guy- I need to find a copy of that film and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane- Bette Davis was brilliant in it- the character she developed with outlandish makeup etc- she basically, "authored" that film- I agree with you on both Geraldine and Ruth- 2 actresses who used "aging" to their advantage- Ruth Gordon is one of those unforgettable Hollywood, Grand Dames, I'd love to have coffee with! Something tells me she had a deliciously off-beat sense of humor and was quite eccentric and both are qualities I admire in people- Namaste from Canada

Geraldine Page and Ruth Gordon performed both their respective parts skillfully as expected. If I had only one issue with this film, it would be the death of Alice Dimmock (Ruth Gordon). The film almost stopped cold for me at that point. I somehow wished she would of come out on top in this war of these two acting titans. Page of course was thoroughly believable as the maniacal and monstrous Claire Marrable, and the plot almost wanted you to cheer as you witnessed her gruesome end. However it was not to be. It may just be my personal opinion, but I found Gordon's death unnecessary, and would of been much more satisfied seeing Page meet a grisly end.

    • @kennethmartin1300

I caught this film belatedly with respect to the comments but I'll chime in anyways. You saved me from adding the only comment I would post and that is, JUST like you said, the unnecessary demise of Alice (Ruth)☹️. Also the Title (and this movie's TH-cam thumbnail) gave away the ending.

Vincent is Great, reminds me of my old friends back when I was singing heavy metal music in Michigan in the 1980's, totally birds of a feather. Tangella, the party guest who moved in n never left, is wonderfully eclectic, beautiful, graceful and slightly off, n Livingston, who is super suave, is a great companion, who endures his two housemates satirically funny!!! You three are a total hoot!!! This movie is from my high school era, so I am hope I liked it then as well as now!!!!

Another Page in the movie? The Paiges love a good ' war of the roses ' feeling around a flick. We love a good Scrum down!!!!

The musical soundtrack of the film could be that of the great French film director: Claude Chabrol.

Oh and Ruth Gorden was a redhead. In that scene she made it look like for the audience that she was really grey when that was a wig. The redhair was her own. She was a Brilliant actress ♥️

Thank you "folks"- I'm new to your channel so I'm not familiar with names. You really feature some "gems" I must say- I prefer the Bette Davis, Joan Crawford film, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane- but this film is equally good- great cast of some of Hollywood's finest character actresses- those who "aged gracefully" by that I mean I admire them for NOT having "horrific" face-lifts! I love Cher but seeing her up close- what a Halloween nightmare on Elm Street that would be- she was beautiful and an actor needs "muscles that move" right?! Facial expression is sort of- important! But I speak partly from envy- I would probably go the surgery route too, just to a lesser degree- I want to compliment all of you, for you characters, alter egos are SO much fun and healthful too, your guests and of course for the movies- I haven't been getting your channel for very long but I must say, you have "an ardent admirer from Canada. Namaste

I just watched this right now . I have to say It was excellent! I wish they would remake this one! Here Geraldine if she would have made sure her husbands stamp collection ( was worth anything ( One hundred Thousand Dollars lol) I don’t know how much the butterfly collection was worth? But in 1969 One hundred Thousand Dollars she could have started over, she would not had to kill everyone! Psycho bitty movie lol They were great actresses! Everyone was excellent! I’m watching it over so good!
I don’t know if you’re allowed to show this movie but a suggestion. Let’s scare Jessica to death? 💀 Thanks Tessa
