I met LTC Jerry Carter at our mentor Dr. Chris Howard’s promotion to LTC in the US Air Force many years ago at The University of Oklahoma Honors College. I saw three Black US Commanders in one room and I was so amazed, proud, that Dr. Howard would allow me to be there. It was the hallmark of my University of Oklahoma career and I will always remember and inspire youth to watch and learn. You can actually achieve your dreams if you never, never, never, give up on them!! Now Mr. Carter is a Brigadier General in the US Marine Corps!! Thank you for all of your work to make the US great!!
Cpts and LtCols are literal backbones, they make the corps exist. Cpts on the field, LtCols on the board win the wars while other officers are like internships of their positions. Neither generals and colonels, nor majors on field can expect to have the success on any conflict without them. LtCols are timeline wise close enough to their field experience to do the planning effectively with higher ups while cpts are literally in the middle of lowest ranks, coordinating them on the go, have the max field experience while still in it, mentoring the Lts and executing the said plans.
There are some Marines that are just Poster and I mean that in the most complimentary way ever. I mean you just can look at him and say Oohrah. They look at it, walk it, talk it and everything about them says USMC to their core. Not saying that if you don't or didn't have that spit and polish image doesn't mean that you're not 100% USMC through and through, hell I didn't look like that when I was active, but I was all in. Many of you might understand what I'm saying, and many of you might be scratching your dome, but when it comes to the meat of the matter if you stepped on those yellow footprints either at PI or San Diego and made it through, we all are just like him, even if we don't look it.

With all due respect…you have no idea what you’re saying son. Notwithstanding the fact that Lt. Col Scheller is a proven devil dog what he did is extremely dangerous to unit cohesion: “Ours is not to wonder why; Ours is but to do or die.” That is the mantra that puts the battery in our storied backs, Sir. I don’t begrudge the Lt. Col. for his emotions because I know he’s hurting watching what he knows is the avoidable slaughter of Marines, Sailors, Soldiers and Allie’s. But the better move would have been to resign his commission AND THEN shout it from the rooftops. It wouldn’t have had the same shock value but it certainly didn’t alter the way the civilian authorities move anyway. However, only time will tell if the actions of such a senior Marine may have injured the time-honored mantra recanted above and the dogged execution of orders that’s responsible for our glorious execution. There’s a sucker born every minute but your ignorance is unicorn-level! Sure…they don’t do anything. That’s why they’re committing suicide at unprecedented levels and the PTSD is off the charts: too much liberty I suppose?
He makes me proud to be a marine .
He did alot tours in combat zones .

I concur in terms of officers. But the spinal cord of the Marine Corps is E4-E6 (infantry).
God bless you sir.

Trust me, it's forever.
Wow! Never seen a mustang Lt. Col before. Impressive. Were those aviator or jump wings? He was picture with a weapon so I'm assuming "jump."
What ribbon is between his Good Conduct and Expeditionary ribbons?
Is there an age waver for prior service enlisted Marines wanting to become a Marine Officer?
Check. Hooah. 101st PFDR. Hell yea Devil Dog.
