    Dear Diana, I have wanted to study art since I was a child, but it didn't happen. I'm over 40 now and I'm unimaginably grateful that I can finally learn how to paint, I can't imagine a better teacher. You are an amazing teacher! The technical basics you teach help me see better, observe better, think better in every exercise. I'm less frustrated that due to a lack of technical knowledge, I can't paint the picture the way I want. All lessons are beneficial for me, however, would you recommend some instructions on how to go through your quick types? Or do you think it basically doesn't matter? Thank you very much for sharing valuable knowledge, experience and skills.

      Petra Lo, currently we have filmed and posted over 300 Quick Tips in random order as we base these on viewer's requests. Roger, our producer, has put together a list which you can find under Community on our channel page ( th-cam.com/channels/JErPSUwVOXzRYDC4kWejnw.html ) I think the best way to study them is to go to that list and choose the ones whose titles address your need. We also have hour-long video tutorials at diannemize.com .

    Thank you Dianne! Brush techniques is something I need more practice with. I always have a fear of thin lines....what if that last whisker on the cat turns out to be a 'thin line disaster' and wrecks the whole painting? It might not be the brush....it's probably the brush technique! Thanks again for your useful tips!

    • @IntheStudioArtInstruction
      @IntheStudioArtInstruction  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ditch the fear. It has no place in your painting, besides it is nothing but a thought anyway.

    Why did not any of my teachers teach in the 17 units i took of art? My god how frustrating to learn i spent all that time and learned very little. Just a studio and a sink to clean up. Sad. We were left to our devices so much! One teacher put desks in a circle and i guess that was his best input. Love you tube and this teacher is the most complete in explaining. A person can figure it out but a quick exercise just to test out stuff speeds up things a lot or get you over being stumped

    • @IntheStudioArtInstruction
      @IntheStudioArtInstruction  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The teacher's role is to guide and to give clarity to the process. If I can do that, I've done my job.

    What are the 40 brush strokes?

    • @IntheStudioArtInstruction
      @IntheStudioArtInstruction  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      40 brush strokes (as well as 20 brush strokes) is an exercise I give for breaking the habit of over-stroking.
