It is my intention to publish in the future even more of everything I know about portrait painting .
And I want this information to be free for everyone. Some compensation for my efforts comes from the publicity which you see appearing occasionally. I hope you don't find it too annoying.
Until now I received the most nice and grateful reactions from all over the world.
And that gives me a lot of satisfaction.

My feelings exactly. I see some comments 8 years old. Why have I just found this?
It is impossible for the lower middle class in some Asian countries to buy such a good lesson with the equivalent of foreign money. So many many thanks Master for helping with these free lessons. 🙏🙏🙏
Special for you! and more to come.
This is, by far, the most brilliant painting tutorial on the internet.
Thank you so much for sharing you knowledge with those of us who love art but don't have much money.
And thanks as well to Will Sophi for the delightful music.

Thank you, what you've created here is a gift for aspiring artists all over the world. For me this is so wonderful to be able to watch an experienced artist paint start to finish, I live in a rural area where this isn't something I could do in person. I know I'll be watching parts of this probably many times to catch all the tips again. Thank you so much!
Glad you like it

Un placer.
Gracias por su trabajo y por enseñarnos tan magnífico trabajo. He aprendido muchísimo. Gracias de corazón. Un saludo desde Extremadura.
Muchas gracias Miguel Ángel. Saludos desde Valencia.
This is amazing. A lot of people are going to be making much better artwork because of your generosity and hard work. I heard a quote recently attributed to Edgar Degas where he said something along the lines of "A real artist is one who inspires other people". That definitely applies to you. Thank you and take care.
Thank you for your kind words.
Omg that is so true, just look at bob ross. He hangs in the Smithsonian now, and as much as his style is easy to do, and people might argue that his art is not high art, he was still a master of it. Anyway, I can't draw for jack and know little about how to mix colors etc, but bob ross got me into oil painting, and the rate at which you progress..like just paint the same painting two or three times and you will see a rapid improvement. Just start with the instructional video which teaches you how to load the brush and knife properly and how to press the brush into the canvas etc because that is really important, but yeah...I agree completely.
thank you.. master..
My pleasure.
I follow a few artists here in youtube. And always considered your work a class apart from all others. Somehow your painting gives the model a kind of inner glow. So your work is not just an exact replica/ alternative of a mere photograph. Somewhere your choice of colors and strokes add a whole new dimension to the model. I don't have words to express how much I admire and respect your artwork. Never thought we would have a free tutorial here. Just cannot thank you enough for your generosity Sir. Also thank you for sharing the little words of wisdom, "if it is worth painting, it is worth planning", "keep your kitchen clean".... They apply to all aspects of life ! Thank you so much and sending you warmest wishes for good health and peace.
Thank you Frank for your kind words.
STUNNING
Absolutely stunning!! I’m a beginner oil painter, your work inspires me!!
Nice to hear.
It was always a mystery for me that how you get all this effects ........
Thank you and I feel that I am lucky to find you on internet
Its my pleasure
Thank you! What a master! I’m so happy you didn’t speed up the video as I learnt a lot this way.
Thank you. Sometime I have to speed up because of the limited time. I try to upload every week a demonstration.
Thank you sir for giving me such inspiration with your fabulous paintings! I truly admire you!
Thank you. it is my pleasure.
Thank you very much for this, sir. It is going to be really helpful for many new artist like me. i personally want to see a video about mediums and their proper use in painting OR a video about how u clean and care your brushes. Love from Bangladesh.
maybe in the future.
Amazing gesture, thank you so much Ben! This will help me out a lot. Also I wanted to let you know your pronunciation of stingy is wrong. The G is said as a J. However when it comes to videos and sharing your artistic knowledge you are certainly not stingy!
Thank you. I did not know that. Again sometihng to pay attention to.
You have such a calm voice and perfect was of explaining your technique and your talent is astounding...you make it look effortless in creating such beauty....I'm so so inspired.
Thank you Calvin
Thank you Ben for sharing you're expertise. I have learnt a great deal from this video.. I will watch it again. I love your attention to detail.
Keep safe.
thank you Margot for letting me know.
Hoi Ben, geweldige video! Het is erg informatief om het gehele proces te zien. Heb je ook tips voor het werken met acryl?
Dank je. In het verleden heb ik wel geschilderd in acryl maar ik weet te weinig van de techniek om er over te kunnen vetrellen.
That was really great. Thank you. Could you please state the size of this canvas?
50 x 40 cm.
Thank you so much for your generous, high-quality videos!
Thank you Marianne
Wow.... perfect. No words for you Mr. You are amazing
thank you.
That is truly brilliant sir. I'm wondering if you used any mediums during the process. Or maybe at chapter 23 for the dress?
By the way It's really hard to capture the likeness while trying to maintain the abstraction and that painterly brushwork.
One can easily bogged down in the details and make the painting tighter and duller. Could you teach more about this aspect? Thank you so much!
I diluted the paint of the dress with turps and tried to let it run.
life painting is so expensive now allmost easier to learn from home
I'm watching this while I'm painting! Totally a big help for me, also the background music is so calm and relaxing 😌 thank you for this ❤️
Thank you Dan
What an excellent tutorial have you made Ben. Thank you for sharing so much valuable information.
Thank you Remi. My pleasure.
So grateful for your generosity.
Thank you
So generous to post a full length demonstration for free. I've learnt so much. I've just gone out and bought some terra rosa to have a go with.
Thank you
Thank you. Terra rosa is a fantastic color to start for a fair skin.
I admire your palette colors. Going to use it for my next portrait. Thank you for sharing - you’re a very good teacher, your explanations resonate with me!
Thank you Kathy. Good luck!
This was incredibly helpful, enjoyable and soothing as well. Thank you for not playing horrible loud music, and especially thank you for speaking softly and at a reasonable pace, your whole manner is really conducive to learning and comprehension. Newly subbed. 🌹
Thanks.
An excellent teacher , he teaches with so much of details and patience ❤
Thank you Anita
My wife & I are thoroughly "Enjoying" your "Mentoring"! We appreciate your patience in showing us each stroke in normal speed with explanation of the making up of the color palate in use on the different zones. We absolutely consider you to be a 'Master' in your field and we look forward to learning as much as possible.
It is my pleasure Robert. Thank you for your kind words
You Sir are a great teacher. Thanks for your real time videos.
