    As a guy who also pushed the limits too far with psychedelics, I find this guy's testimony to be so incredibly fascinating. Seems like he stole a tiny bit of the fire from the gods, just enough to show that he brought it back haha. But nonetheless, a great reminder that you gotta be real careful with that stuff sometimes. If you play with fire, you will eventually get burned.

    Even memory doesn't have to transfer. Psychedelics states can be so radical that they do not store well in human memory.
    What you gotta keep in mind is that time is imaginary, so yeah, on salvia you could dream some crazy stuff, like spending 55 years in another life. That's not a mistake, that's how consciousness works at the deepest levels. The whole point of taking salvia is to erase the distinction between 55 years being objectively real vs imaginary. If you take enough psychedelics that distinction will disappear because it is dreamed up by consciousness in the first place.

    Obvious from the fact he was sleep depraved for weeks that was a major contributor. Anyone who has or knows anyone whos had sleep deprivation related hallucinations and mental breaks downs knows you don't need mushrooms to completely lose your mind. Don't get me wrong, it's his life he knows what caused it. But he could have been clean sober in a good mental space, and after a few weeks of sleep depravation still landed in a mental institution. No sleep gets 100% of us, no one wins that battle. And yes doing too many psychedelics can mess your ass up.

    Just know, good trips may take an excessive amount of time to skrew you up. Bad ones... Can cause problems fast. Speaking from experience. I now have toons of anxiety, and even weed puts me over the top. I attibute several bad trips to this

    • @mainframe9525

      @@allstarlord9110 it's a difficult very nuanced and complicated subject, so it's a bit hard to explain through text. However.. pretty much everyone I know who's tripped a lot(including myself) isn't functioning very high in life. I guess more so with the good trips, it's enjoyable. Because it's enjoyable people I know started using hallucinogens somewhat excessively. They may have mostly had good experiences then, bam... One day they have a really bad trip that potentially messes them up in one way or another (anxiety, depression,I know 3 schizophrenics, etc). Now only the 3 schizophrenics are completely unfunctional , but I know a lot of people that aren't high functioning (who tripped a lot). Some are still relatively normal they just have an abnormal outlook on life, or are a bit strange. But they can still function. It changes the way you think in a pretty big way. Which isn't always a bad thing.

    • @allstarlord9110
      @allstarlord9110 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      steve jones Shit man that’s sad to hear. Did the psychedelics caused them to develop schizophrenia? That’s wild and scary. Well I guess these drugs aren’t something to be messed with. I’m just curious because I have seen many people talking about them as miracle drugs that are totally safe and life changing but I’m skeptical, they seem pretty scary to me

    • @stevejones8550
      @stevejones8550 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@allstarlord9110 Ya man, it's unfortunate. ya know, it's pretty weird. Back in the 80s it was nothing but bad things that people heard about these drugs. Now it's nothing but good possibilities with these drugs. It's both. Very unpredictable. And two of the people that have schizophrenia was definitely caused by lsd. They were normal. Then.... They got a loooot of lsd. So they tripped multiple times a week for a few months. Next time I saw them 8t was very very clear that they were off in the head. Some people are ok after some time goes by. Neither of these people were ever ok again. Now they were both young and they say hallucinating is dangerous while your brain is still forming. I think it's possible for hallucineagins to have good outcomes and be helpful, but it's definitely not completely safe.

    One neurobiology professor was asked about psychedelics and that’s what he told: “Pour cola on you laptop and you’ll see funny sparkles and distortions on a screen 📺 But what will happen to your motherboard?”

    • @NeezMyDew
      @NeezMyDew 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't think that's the best analogy. Like laptops compute information located internally within it, and rearranges that info for whatever experience or use needed. Adding liquids to the mix won't add any extra information, all it will do is break the system.
      While the human mind/body seems to work on an endless stream of external information, with your subconscious calculating what info will be necessary to experience consciously for you to navigate/survive the environment. Psychedelics allow people to break away from those restrictions and experience things how they would be if it wasn't for the deeper workings of the mind having limiters
      But maybe there's a good reason we have evolved to take in reality the way we do. Maybe taking in extra information that's normally filtered out isn't mentally healthy. And same with tweaking the body to undergo a heavier load isn't physically healthy either

    • @brianjansen3103
      @brianjansen3103 ปีที่แล้ว

      I remember a commercial where the guy cracks an egg into a skillet & says this is your brain on drugs but that's not a good analogy either. There's a responsible way to use psychedelics & there's teeth grinding led glove waving stupidity

      @@Jonah_Krsna_47 Don't be so hard on yourself, pal. What I mean by the is that DMT is a dual methylated first round metabolite of Tryptophan (Tryptamine) and that Methamphetamine (and Phentermine) are dual methylated first round metabolites of Phenylalanine (Phenethylamine). Serotonin is tryptamine with a hydroxy (HO) group attached, Dopamine is phenethylamine with 2 hydroxy groups attached. They're both neurotransmitter analogues. Various methylated versions of these are also produced within the human body. Tryptamine and Phenethylamine are the two major classes of psychedelic drugs. LSD, Mushrooms, and DMT are classic tryptamines, and Mescaline (peyote) is a phenethylamine.
