Hey Dougo , quick story for you and your Dad . My late father-in-law and his brother-in-law were on shore leave during WWII in Pascagoula Mississippi and were trying to make it home to Laurel Mississippi to see their wives . Most roads back then were still dirt . Anyway , they were driving like crazy down an old country road , and all of a sudden they had a flat tire . Like your grandpa said , tires were limited , so they didn't have a spare . Being resourceful ol cotton farmers they were , they took the tire off , laid it on its side , broke the bead , and commenced to packing it with sand !!! They were laughing and cuttin up while they were tellin me this story , (many times over the years) , and said it was a little hairy at 70 mph , but they made it home to their wives !!! Man I sure do miss takin him back over to Mississippi and drivin those back roads and hearing him tell me the same ol stories . I always listened to him tell them like it was the first time that I'd ever heard them . They're all gone now , but I can close my eyes and sit a spell with them , and hear them like it's the first time 😪🇺🇲🙏🚜❤

So I used to work in manufacturing with global supplied parts.
One of the major reasons for these inventory shortages is a strategy manufacturers use to limit on hand inventory to avoid having to pay taxes on it and not have completed product become obsolete.
The company I worked for didn't build anything that wasn't ordered.
Now this is fine as long as supply and demand is smooth.
When it's not you end up with these shortages.

A big difference between “back in the day” and now. We could patch up our old equipment with stuff in our farm shop or laying around on the farm. Old timers like my late dad (born in 1913), never threw anything away. If you had a torch, a welder and some tools, you could work on nearly anything. Baling wire was a must. We’ve even used it to weld with. I still have a few piles of stuff just for a reminder.
I understand the need for modern equipment and technology but these shortages are literally killing us. Our politicians should be helping us instead of fighting each other.

Hey Cole- Where are those rubber boots? That lime in the concrete will ruin your boots! I know from experience! Looks like the concrete pouring was a lot less work than getting ready for it. Great video, thanks for sharing. Also I don’t blame you on the Milwaukee tools, I love them too!

We all have days like that, I had one this week, but how I keep a smile on my face is I tell myself if everything turns to crap today then nothing will be left to go wrong tomorrow! Tomorrow will be a great day!

Well, the Struggle-bus showed up with a full load and stayed for entire day. Had to spray-wash a manure spreader once so we could replace the chain. Never again! Thanks for another great video.

We had them corn cobs in the out house. Two red ones, and a white one. First you used a red one. Then you used the white one to see if you needed the other red one. The sears catalog went pretty quick in those days.

Back in planting season you couldn't catch a break with rain, now that the crops are up you can't get rain.

There is something really great about all of you. Challenge after challenge, and yet, smiles and "ya gotta do what ya gotta do" (maybe it's good editing ...) But irrespective, you guys are awesome. I would go so far as to say you are "spiritually in tune," that the Great Spirit of Goodness recognizes the genuineness of your character.

@@MrHurricaneFloyd haha, it’s you again. Still saying random things about people you will never meet. Doug is the kindest person I know. The entire family is great. They will do anything for you in your time if need.
