And one more thing, for the hydraulic over head door, there is a heat tape (heat trace) you can buy at home depot or lowes you could wrap around and insulate the tank plug that tape in (its 120v) and keep the fluid warm. Just use ducting tin tape to hold it onto the resevoir

You guys should look into an air greaser for the shop, so nice not having to change tubes all the time, they take I believe 25-30 gallon tubs of grease, looks like mini 55 gallon drums, but get a long grease gun hose so you can leave the grease drum in on spot and just drag the gun around

The struggle bus makes a quick stop at LF. When that door knob came off in your hand Chet, the only thing better than the look of absolute disbelief on your face was your immediate denial of being the one who broke it. I laughed as much at that as I did when Douggo asked how many LF employees does it take to remove the seal from the door of the chem truck. Keep up the good work and thanks for carrying us along. God bless!

At Hydroswing we recommend using transmission fluid or aviation fluid in our hydraulic pumps. We also offered a 12v. back up pump for power outages. Then you don’t have to be concerned about mixing tractor fluid.

just hook a chain to the pallets and pull them out to the door. no issues then.
and with rgards the door hydraulics surely it's easier to just use a generator to run the door motor, a newer ford has enough electrical power to make it work complete with a standard electrical socket.. 7000watts should handle the door motor easily i would never hook a tractor to it with the dirty oil in a tractor hydraulic system. could also put in solar panel and a couple batteries to run the doors.

    It was interesting and enjoyable.
Lots of jobs to do after harvest. All of you are busy busy with jobs to fix or repair something. Always busy you are. Lots of machinery to maintain.
That was a chore getting that semi unloaded of all the chemicals. Lots of weight there to deal with.
Dougo is glad Martin is back. Clean those floors.
When that door handle came off you looked so funny at it. Another repair job.
All for now. You all take care and be safe.

Chet, nice idea there at the end about building a small insulated room for that door pump, motor and fluid.
One small problem is the oil in the rest of the lines.
That oil will still be frezzing cocl and the second some hits that pump things will go downhill real fast.
You'd have to add in a heat exchanger to pre heat the oil before it gets to the pump.
Anyways, another really nice episode of Larson Farms on the Frozen Struggle Bus on a wonderful Minnesota snowy day.
We prefer our South Florida snow on a cone covered with raspberry syrup.

In the potato wash plants we use 220 electric water pumps to pressure wash taters. As long as you have enough water to feed the pump they are capable of high pressures with the right fittings. Could be a good solution to the underbody washing idea

As an owner of cargo in the trailer you are allowed to remove the security clip, drivers have a new security clip if there is more cargo in the trailer...

  • @StrikerV3
    @StrikerV3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Tip i learned as a yard driver for the little stamped steel trailer locks (thin guys). You just grab one end of the loop, pull down so it stretches everything tight, then use your free hand to grab that tab looking bit and wiggle the heck outta it, it will give out pretty quick. Same principle as removing the pop tabs from a soda can.

we used to just take the metal seals like was on the trailer door handle and take one side and bend it back and forth real fast and within about 30 seconds it will break in half just be careful it will get hot enough too burn your fingers where it breaks similar too how you can break off a piece of wire off the spool if you don’t have a wire cutter handy

  • @hughvane
    @hughvane ปีที่แล้ว

Dougo - as far back as the late 1960s when I was doing military service, we drove our convoy trucks over a bed of nozzles which sprayed pressured water on to the underside of the trucks to clean dirt etc away. The water nozzles were powered by a single (mains) electric pump, probably three-phase, but I have no idea what its other details were. Dirty water was sluiced away to nearby drains. Certainly doable in your present situation.

You could probably skip all the power washers for your under carrage wash but drilling another well and butting in the biggest wall pump you can find starting with like a 2 inch water line and keep reducing it tell its coming out of 3/16 inch holes at the wash head that would build some pressure but it would cost a fortune to get set up

Maybe if you can find something like that it would make mixing alot more pleasant

I usually had a 53' trailer, and yeah, those pallets can be a bitch to find the sweet spot where the pallet jack will fit under so it will roll. Great job getting the truck unloaded so fast. Doug's idea is on point, the under wash dealyoh. High flow of wather through a bunch of large tips should do the trick.
Nice belt BigSweed, be sure to thank your mom from all of us.😜👍

Don't know why BigSweed didn't unload that trailer by hand.
Link is always in the description.
Oh Chet, you crack me up.

May want to put down camera down to use brush.i got a good brush with a 16 foot fiberglass telescoping pole at truck stop. The big truck stop in Walcott Iowa has on line store I believe. Truck will be much better with some Elbow grease.

you need pallet claw and a long chain and just pull them out with ease, and a good wash brush is your auto parts stores or body shop stores sell ones that dont hurt your paint and you can get a certain kind of brissel you want

That valve on top of Trans is the Syncronizer lock out valve.
Kicks out the Diff lock when trans goes into high range ! Get a new Synconizer valve at your local Peterbilt dealer , Bendix part I believe !

Chet, that door handle: As my grandad said after he hit the wooden pole in the middle of the field, with the combine divider; 'metal fatigue' 😄

Home Depot sells window washing supplies from Unger. Brushes, squeegees, and extension poles. Also Unger window washing soap cleans and doesn't streak.
The brush works well, but the extension pole is the cats PJ's.
