    Hi Scott, many thanks for this great video! Your photographies are so beautiful! And I like very much how you explain and describe the behaviour of the birds. Kind regards, Silke

    Just a heads up- the bird you labelled a pectoral sandpiper is actually a red knott. The pectoral sandpiper is a annual vagrant from North America- it looks like a small ruff😊- with a ruff like bill.
    Also the plovers in flight are common ringed- note extensive white on supercilium (eyebrow). The bird you labelled little ringed plovers in the portrait section are also common ringed plovers- just juveniles. Not the thick bills, white supercilium and overall chunky structure.

    Thank you so much for inspiring me back into wildlife photography. I've been frustrated with my photos lately, but your videos really make me want to get back into it. Your tips are very helpful and you explain everything with passion and excitement. Your videos are so easy and fun to follow. I'm very happy I found your channel.

      Hi Sonia. Thank you so much, that's really nice to hear. We all get a bit frustrated in wildlife photography from time to time. I find it quite useful to try something new - a new subject or a new style and to see what I come up with, and that normally gets my motivation back. Thanks for watching and for your lovely comment.

      Salut Didier. Merci pour votre gentil commentaire et pour votre abonnement. J'espère que les traductions vous conviendront. Il y a un beau littoral et quelques belles falaises en Normandie. J'espère que vous y trouverez de belles photos. Je suis très heureux d'avoir des nouvelles des téléspectateurs français - j'aime beaucoup la France et j'espère y faire un voyage pour voir mon neveu français au printemps. (Et aussi prendre des photos de votre faune pendant que j'y suis). Merci d'avoir regardé.

    Definitely got to get myself for to the Wash, my main experience shooting waders has been from hides where obviously you don't ha e a lot of control over the angle!...thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and as for the shark to me it looks like a witches hat 😁

    • @WalksOnTheWildSide
      @WalksOnTheWildSide  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good call on the witches hat. I didn’t see that one. It’s definitely worth getting to the Wash. The next spring tide is next weekend. I agree hides are difficult - they’re usually designed for bird watchers rather than bird photographers. Thanks for watching.

    Just moved to Norfolk, Heacham, so will definability explore Snettisham, enjoyed the video. Thanks

    • @WalksOnTheWildSide
      @WalksOnTheWildSide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. I'm very jealous - I love Norfolk and do a lot of my photography there. There's lots of beautiful areas around you - Holkham is great for birds in general, along with Titchwell Marsh. I've taken photos of waders really close up on the harbours at Burnham and Wells. And you've got lots of great woodlands around Sandringham. Another tip for you is a much under-rated location called Dersingham Bog - it's great for a variety of owl species over winter.

    hi scott great video where was the location i am going to norfolk in early oct

    • @WalksOnTheWildSide
      @WalksOnTheWildSide  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David. Good stuff. I hope you enjoy it. Go to Snettisham RSPB nature reserve. You’ve got a spring tide on 8th, 9th, and 10th October. High tides at 8:06, 8:47 and 9:31 on those days. Leave at least an hour, preferably 2 or more, to get from the car park to find your spot. There’ll be loads of other bird watchers and photographers there, so getting there early means you can claim a good spot. If you’re going there on other days it will still be good but much less likely that you’ll get those big clouds of birds. On the weekends before and after this, the high tide will be 2 metres lower than the spring tide.
