I love how you include your children in the video. My mother wasn't a very good cook and wouldn't allow us in the kitchen to watch her. My Grandmother however, did and gave us specific jobs to do to help her. We loved that. Probably why we took more of an interest in cooking then our mother did. Mom couldn't cook well but she was a heck of a seamstress!

Iam Greek and we had great Armenian friends when I was a child that we rented an apartment from at the beach! We ate the same foods! and the lady of the house taught me how to crochet, sew dresses for my dolls. If tyou are nervous its due to the kids! I tried to cook with eight under my feet! lol I made eclairs once, as soon as I put one down there was a demand for another. You deal well with your kids! I yelled at my kid in Greek lol

My Grandmother used to make it, and when she passed my Dad knew some ladies in Fresno, Ca that make it...almost as good as Grandma. We would buy a bunch of trays and keep them in the freezer for whenever we wanted them. Every holiday or family get together called for several trays to put out to go withy the Shish...nothing better! The trays never lasted very long, because we didn't really wait for special occasions to put them on the dinner table. Well, I now live in Oklahoma, and there are not a whole lot of Armenians here, and absolutely NOWHERE to buy su boreg, and I am a terrible cook when working with dough. Just AWFUL!! Now, with this recipe, even I can make it, and will be doing just that this weekend. Have not had it in over two years!!! Can't wait!!

looks verry good and my mom makes it with spinach too. Fillo dough then brush melted butter, repeat about half of the pack then add spinach and cheese and beaten egg on top then you cover fillo dough and butter till you done then add egg brush on top... try it next time I think you will like it :)

Does it come out crunchy or moist? I prefer moist and the recipe on the package called for milk, oil and egg to be brushed on each layer. Please advise.

Like she said, she didn't count. She used half a pack and divided it roughly into two stacks. It doesn't matter anyway, do as many as you like. The point of stacking buttered or oiled sheets of filo dough is to make a kind of puff pastry. Only difference is that the layers are stacked by hand, while puff pastry is layered by folding the dough and butter. You would get a similar result by using to sheets of puff pastry, one for the bottom layer and one for the top.
