  • Our Ferrari 599 Manual Conversion is finally completed, and it took us over 2 years and about $1M to complete. So why did it take so long and so much money? Why is our conversion different and better? Let's talk about the work that was done by EAG USA and how this conversion will be something very special.

    Amazing job you guys have done on this car, did you do some more fine tuning with the rev hold since the last time we saw it in another video? I ask because it seems like its right in the sweet spot now, and it also looks like a lot less rev holding when you're changing on the redline at wide open throttle? Its what I'd expect with the momentum from the higher engine speeds.......In a nutshell, you guys have done a top job, the car sounds incredible, the giggling after a pull says it all, Id just love a car like this!! It must be so much fun to get on some winding roads...

    What's with the two noticeable pooling of fluids on the underside of the transmission. Is this over spill?
    Also IF I had a manual OEM, wouldn't a slightly larger rubber grommet under the shift pattern help reduce the chatter.
    When going into 4th at 07:20 to 07:22, there is noticable stick movement forward, also at 09:41, is that due to the cables?, seems to be only 4th.

    1st.. WooHoo.. Very cool what you guys and EAG are doing.. Congrats.. I am curios what the warranty is and how will work be handled when someone lives across the country. They offer a 2 year warranty. Who does the work is complicated

    • @romeo2r2
      @romeo2r2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@normalguysupercar But they really need to think that one out properly - people should not have to ship their cars back to Austen to get work done that a competent shop can do locally unless the shipping both ways is going to be warranted as well. They will provide the warrantied parts (if warranty still applicable - otherwise the owner will have to purchase replacement EAG parts) and cover local shop’s labour cost. I know that is not a variable that they have any control over but it will be way less expensive than the shipping costs both ways. They need to establish a list of competent local shops with which they will be comfortable dealing and who will not screw them on the labour. If there is something which really requires that the car be returned to Austen to have the work done by EAG then inclusion of shipping costs both ways will be the only acceptable solution to customers. I am sure that most owners of off-warranty vehicles have already identified local folks that they are prepared to trust their cars with and this would be a good place to start collecting info.

      I think you can tell from Dan's reaction that so much of the enjoyment from this car is because of the Manual. It has totally transformed the car for the better. What's not to love. Lots of drivers not excited about the tech in cars either currently or in the future. Manual cars will always have their special place and that's why they sell for way more money than auto equalivant

    Super curious to see how this goes on the market - you’re definitely doubling down on how many one-off/custom/bespoke parts are on it - will be interesting to see if that turns people off, on, or doesn’t make a difference. Anecdotally I figured the strong value of the converted cars in the past was based on the fact it is essentially the same as a factory car, just not from the factory (so doesn’t bother the purists too much), but we’ll see how a “custom” build goes in the eyes of the market! Good luck with the sale - will be very interesting to watch!
