Great review Ifti,This will be on my list of things to get one day..I really like how your able to control it and it looks like all the controls are set in the right position to run the Osmo,The other thing I like about it is it has a main feature and it is the stabilization ..for some one like me who does not have the ability to hold cameras still what so ever since I have very shaky hands..So this is a #1 feature I really like..
I wish they had put the on/off switch somewhere else as I've found I have switched the camera off a couple of times. I think my finger length is not long enough for the front switch lol and therefore have been moving the switch unintentionally with my palm. Enjoying the camera immensely. Great review as always.

Great detailed review - with no 4K 60fps given the high price this is a turn off for most.
Great device,same they dont make this model anymore,have the pocket one and two but still prefer using this gimble as it feels just right to handle with removable batteries,great mobile support to use your iPhone a a field monitor ,easy connect external mic.so wonderfully designed .

Best to check online since prices of tech change quite quickly, and newer models become available - so if I mention the price at the time of creating the video, it would be completely different to the price you could pick one up for today....

Great review! I have only one concern. How do you shoot a vertical recording? Example youtubers will shoot horizontal videos which is prefect for TH-cam. But what if I want my videos to recorded vertically for Tiktok?
Is it true that unless the light conditions are very good, there is a lot of noise? Considering getting it with an independent LED light to enhance noise if this is the case. Thanks for a great review!
Yes - its a problem with most small sensors. In low light an external light source is definitely recommended.

I have tried to contact DJI about this but that is a useless exercise.
As I understand it, there is no way to adjust the aperture on the Osmo with the X3 camera. Aperture adjustment is only available with the X5.
So, HOW is it possible to have 24fps, 1/50th shutter speed, ISO100 and a constant f/2.8 aperture without severely overexposing in bright sunlight???
I would love it if you could shed some light on this.
A truly fantastic review; you have covered everything I was curious about. Wish I found this before contacting DJI directly to inquire about this device. I know the iPhone 6 Plus fits (barely) but am very curious to know if the iPhone 6S Plus will fit without any issues, the "S" plus model is very slightly larger. I think I will wait to order this until it is a little more revised. I'd like to see a much longer battery life, or at the very least an easy way to charge the device while it is being used; maybe through a power brick.?. Over the phone the DJI rep said that's not an option as of now, but is something to be expected on the next (updated) release, whenever that is.. I also want the camera that shoots raw 4K footage as part of a package, that's not an option now. This is very promising and a must have, but not until it is a little more polished up.
+Daniel R. - Completely agree with you. Battery life needs some much needed improvement for more pro level use. Saying that, it is easy to change batteries from the bottom of the handgrip thankfully enough, but its still an annoyance.
The handset used in this video was an iPhone 6S Plus - it fits and is held securely. Its at the upper end of the scale though, in other words, its the largest handset you could hope to fit into the holder.
There are other issues as well - gimbal creep, horizon tilt issues, and that poor audio! Keep an eye on my upcoming videos as I'm testing in more depth and will highlight these issues, as well as bolting on extra accessories and microphones to create a stabilised handheld camera rig!

great review! but i have one question. I own a gopro hero 3+ black and i wish to buy something to stabilize the (casual holiday and travel) footages i make. In your opinion what should i do, sell the gopro and buy a Osmo or just buy feiyutech for the gopro? thank you for your answer
if you already have the camera, then check out the Feiyu-Tech FY-4Gs, or the LanParte LA3D. Both are great gimbals. Check out the channel for reviews on either unit!

Thanks for the review! Does it work well also without a smartphone attached? I'm considering a Feiyu G5 Gimbal + GoPro Hero 5 combo against this unit and the former seems to be more practical in this regard.
No, you'll need to use with a smartphone to get the most of out of this unit.

iftibashir Is that with the official accessories? If so, I'd love to see how they work... The website shows a really rubbish image and I think I need the straight extension arm and the universal mount to be able to attach a shotgun mic to Osmo... But I'll wait and see what you come up with first! Thanks!!

I have a question about additional batteries. I have a plan to buy more batteries, so I could use video recording about 3 hours per day. Is that possible, as DJI Osmo X3 is quickly heated, I am scared that it will be damaged if I use it that long. Do you have some experience with that or do you think that's possible by switching additional batteries to record video about 3 hours?
+Heart Soul - Should be fine. Yes the camera runs warm, but thats what the built in fan is for!

I'm just curious as to which gimbal you prefer? Feiyu tech G4 or DJI Osmo? they both seem very good!
+HeroesOfEdisto - When it comes to gimbal performance, both are fantastic. You can hardly fault either. When it comes down to the entire package, with cameras etc, the Osmo edges ahead for unprocessed video quality straight from the camera. Its a neater solution and performs wonderfully well.
Im looking to pick up the newer Feiyu-Tech FY-G4S soon, so will put that head-to-head with the Osmo ;o)
Also have some Osmo accessories coming soon for a 'ultimate Osmo setup'!

No...... All my DJI items are purchased just like anyone else...
but DJI codec is just garbage, that is their main weakness. Unless they could make it better than GoPro's codec, then they'll have a competition. They are coming out with the "calling out" ads, most probably because GoPro is building a 3 axis gimbal of their own.

First of all. It shoots not real 4K.
I setted up 4K, but in Davinci it shows 3840x2160 which is UHD!!!
The media is 8bit rubbish soap image to give plus full of noise in shadows.
Even 4K does not help.
