- In this video we unbox the 2 android systems we are going to install into our Land Rover Discovery 4 / LR4 and take a look at what is the box and how they are going to install.
This channel is a gold mine, I swear. I was thinking about fitting one of these on my Disco, and here you come out with this video. I will never be able to show you enough appreciation for your content! Thank you so much! 🧡

Hello boys, I'm going to say option 1 before you have even installed them. It's clean looking and if its functional then I would be tempted......but that other one looks ropey. I wouldn't want to lose the clock and button layout, The standard ones look smart and are nice to use. Just looks wrong for a luxury car to me. I couldn't see many D4 owners going for that big one. Look forward to the installation..... best...Adam
Plus the parking sensor off switch would be lost and that’s a crucial button when you’re off-road or have a rack fitted the the rear hitch.

The ome for the early disco looks so much better out of the 2 and doesnt look like a after thought

I recently bought a 2012 L322 and have to say the infotainment is the one and only part of the car that is compromised. So in addition to the Disco 4 install, can you give guidance on other LR model compatibility in your videos?
In addition to whether Apple Carplay is included on an Android system, I will be really interested to see if there is anything that these new installs can't do that the old system can.

This is great, I've just bought a discovery 3 s with no sat nav, I've just cut the cubby out and gutted a broken oem screen with a raspberry pi and touch screen running open auto pro with android auto. Looks oem and keeps the radio.

Last year was my first experience with a car stereo.
It was a 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser 76 series.
And it has a electric/motorised aerial so with the ISO harness that we bought I had to put a pin on the loose aerial power cable and put it into the correct spot that connects to the radio.
The iso harness adapter thing made the job very easy.
Overall was a great learning experience at age 19 and it was very satisfying and rewarding to see the end result.
Also installed a reverse camera (which was a pain in the butt).
19 years old with a Land Cruiser - nice !

Looking forward to seeing them both installed, shame you won’t be looking to stock them. I prefer the size of the pop up one but prefer the in-dash look of the larger one.
Driving in this morning I may consider stocking the small one as I know the factory directly for this one.
I have it already for 5 years, works good.😅

Awesome upgrades Gents...I was anticipating purchasing the same unit.However,Pioneer has a great Unit as well...I own a 08 RR HSE...can't wait to see the progress...
That looks like a complex installation job…bits of dashboard everywhere! I have a friend with a 2016 D4 so will be watching with interest..he likes technology…..will this be a challenge and a wallet buster?? Don’t start doing it on Christmas Day…Mrs P might get a bit scratchy boiling the turkey!! 😃😃😃😃
you should work to standarize them with the manufacturer and make them work properly with the evoque, disco 4 and older cars as they are now they seem to partially work.
It is a shame land rover doesnt have the same vision Porsche has

This would be great for the base D3 with pov pack stereo and open cubby between the air vents. Can this be used on D3 as original stereo can be left in place for the clock functionality?

you can get units for the D3, I bought one that looks like the factory screen but does CarPlay. They had others that were larger and others still which replaced the radio with a large screen.

PS: on your recommendation I purchased and installed the rear tailgate manual release....and the Ford escort solenoid as mine failed 2weeks after....

I could be tempted to take a look at the larger option if there is zero risk to the operations moved to the panel after install , I’m wondering if you can use the cars GPS and the supplied antenna is in the box for cars without nav

You do not want heater controls on a screen. You cannot operate without taking your eyes off the road. Can't use when wearing gloves either.
