I was at a local specialty store a few days ago, and "Pets" was playing when I got there. Then, as I was about to leave, I found a big, about 8x10" Porno for Pyros sticker. It made my day. I have it framed behind my drum kit now.
Whole album is so good. I actually consider Pets the weakest, most generic song on the album. And I don't even mean that as a putdown, since the song has an earnest & colorful message, but the other song are just so amazing and rock hard.

I was lucky enough to see them before the first cd was released. I was living in Honolulu and watched the first "final show" of Janes addiction at Aloha Tower, where Perry played for 20 minutes completely naked. Not sure how much longer before someone told me Perry was in a new band and it was coming to Oahu. I had this new girlfriend and we went. I was hoping they would play Janes stuff. To my memory they didn't. I was unfamiliar with the new stuff but the performance was great. First of all someone came out with this big mask like fake head on, mumbling into the mic. Most of us were confused...opening act? Then someone recognized the voiced and yelled "It's Perry!". If I remember right he disappeared and then came out with the band. Think he was wearing a flannel shirt which seemed weird after seeing him shaved bald or with blue dreadlocks and ornate jackets. They cranked. My girlfriend was dancing on our table in cutoff jeans. Then I saw them at The Mele in Kualoa Ranch along with Social distortion, Blind Melon, Chokebore, Stone Temple Pilots.....topless fire breathing girls wearing satin skirts going down on each other and a clown that cuts his throat on stage, Porno For Pyros was amazing. While walking around the grounds all of the boys minus Perry arrived in an old 70's convertible Impala I think, light blue, drove right past me.
saw them in 94 in European Festivals & it was fantastic . They have been playing this summer ( end of July in Chicago - the video is available on yutube ) and Perry is as mint as he was back in the mid ninetees .
I went to an outdoor 90’s party last weekend at a rooftop bar. Most people were college aged. The DJ was playing the crappiest 90’s pop music. Everyone know the lyrics. I’m like, this was not the 90’s the way I experienced it. Rock and grunge was where it was at. This is how I remember concerts in the 90’s
I saw Jane’s Addiction on Lollapolooza in 1991. Saw Porno for Pyros in 1993. Both great! It was the end of Jane’s and a new beginning for Perry Farrell and drummer Stephen Perkins in Porno for Pyros!
