Synopsis:
In "Sanctuary of Shadows," on the surface, Lawrence and Sarah appear to be the epitome of a perfect Christian couple, admired by their community for their devotion to their faith. I had a dream few days ago when I was telling my husband that I am bleeding then this movie came up. This is a Devine movie. Many people are bleeding in their marriages. I am not a pretender let the church address this please.

To my fellow viewers saying the woman might have married wrong🤔🤔🤔 hope you re-read your Bibles and refer to some eye opening stories like,
1. With all the promises God made with Abraham it didn't stop the devil coming in when they didn't have the fruit of the womb at a time they thought they could hence Sarah bringing in Haggai
2. With the anointing upon Samson's life and him being a covenant child Delilah still hoped in and brought him down
3. Job was the most loved servant of God but he was tried and tested .
What happened to Moses , David and so many more ??? Theres always a loop hole that only prayers , consistence ,guidance of the Holy spirit can fill .
We can say in Desmonds marriage the loophole was wide open and the people they thought would be of help were also bound because none told them to seek Gods presence, the ladys father shocked me when all he told her was he had a meeting to attend😅😅😅 it was soo bad
I think the writer wanted us to face the reality that everyone nomatter their spiritual stand falls short of Gods glory and we are all tried and tested even our Lord Jesus christ was tested by the devil at the mountain after his 40 days of prayer and fasting it took the presence of the Holy spirit that gives wisdom ,knowledge, revelations for him to win.

But there is something that comes to my mind as I was watching the movie the family or the pastor should tell the man to be sleeping in the church to seek the face of God for deliverance from the evil habit until he change. WOW! These people are dread. The dad thinks it ok when his daughter tell them she is the husband punching bag. WOW! So she must stay in that house. No rest bit. They only care about church reputation. God does not like divoice, however, this is not something she should but up with. The husband needs help and he did not get it from the church. Yes, she must pray but prayers without action in this case is void. He will eventually kill him. As that all he says when he is beating her. This was good and a must watch. Well done!

The church didn't do well. The elders should have placed the man under discipline from the first report of him beating his wife. They left him in his leadership position in the church and were pleading with the woman to keep on enduring the beatings. She tried o. I won't stay under the same roof with him from the first day he raised his hands to beat me. Ha! There's only one life, and I won't lose mine cheaply and unceremoniously to a man who cannot control himself, even without provocation!
There's no marriage in heaven. It all ends here on earth. I won't allow anyone to cut short my life in the name of domestic violence.
I will be ready to stay single for the rest of my life in order to obey the word of God.

This is a powerful film. However, it has conjured painful memories of my parents' marriage, where I witnessed my mum being battered by the bastard she married, whom I have the misfortune of calling my father.

As children of God and the church, we must always apply wisdom. In cases like this, ministries usually forbid the couple to separate sometimes because of a religious approach to scriptures. How about the parents of the abused... They will usually tell her to remain in the house. Thus, in the name of their so-called credibility or tradition. Wisdom is profitable to direct... therefore in all thy getting, get wisdom.
Additionally, daughters of Zion are dying fools deaths because of a lack of wisdom - church attendance, and even leadership positions do not equate to transformation. Above the aforementioned, people make costly mistakes because they do not consider the leadership of the Holy Spirit at all. There is no way you will surrender your life to God obey the voice of the Holy Spirit and fail in life... NO WAY.
We must wake up. And be more serious in our Christian life.

No and never! I don’t encourage divorce, but in a situations where a couple is already in the wrong marriage. At least, separation is necessary for a while.
My question for you;
Are you suggesting that the victim should not speak up and should just die there?
And it is another lesson for the eligible singles to beware of ravenous wolves in sheep’s clothing. We’ve many of them in the church and in the body of Christ today, the Bible called them false brethren.

No i don't think this movie is endorcing seperation or divorce, however in the case of Lawrence and Sarah i strongly believe that a(physical)seperation is necessary for a period of time because of the abuse that's affecting her physically, emotionaly and mentaly(because coming to a point of thinking to purchase a gun to eliminate herself and her husband to end it all, because she can't take it anymore, believe me it's a big deal it's a very serious matter that can't and shouldn't be taken lightly. Yeah i know it's a movie but these issues are not far from reality, alot of things are happening in homes and families these days some people go crazy and alot of situations/bad ends can be avoided if figured out and if precausion is taken ealier soon.
From a believer's point of view i believe seperation is permitted(if necessary)but not divorce (no matter what)
And in their period of seperation i think it's important each party go for councelling(if they didn't before they got married or if they didn't get enough), pray for themselves and for their spouse(seeking help and guidians from the HOLY SPIRIT for every step and decision) and hope for reconsiliation if, when and where possibile(if they still want to come together)because after all said and done one of the spouse might not still be willing to come together and GOD does not and cannot forse HIS Will on anyone neither can we🤷

I encourage everyone to seek the Holy Spirit before marriage, make God tge foundation in the marriage, and work together to make it work. But when there is a serious violation of the Biblical principles that endangers life, I do not encourage suicide. Staying on in a physically abusive marriage is arranging for your murder or suicide mission.
Also, should one have an habitual adulterer as a spouse, and cannot seem to cope wothour living with unforgiveness which can even stop her from making heaven, then the person has a choice to follow what Jesus said, either way.....

Abused spouses are not gospel, and the church have written their own script on this, which is 'STAY '. at the expense at ones life.

I don't understand this film. Are you standing on the divorce or separations as opinions for peaceful home? All the things Mrs. Sarah Desmond said is true based on her experience in her marriage but the question remains, does that make a standard for the christian home?
Why do we like to create problems that hunt us for our selfish reason then we make it to be reasons for divorce? Marriage is beautiful only to them who follows the will of God in choosing the life partner God chose for you and not for everyone in the marriage.
People in Sarah's shoe should go back check their starting, was God not silent when they were pushing? Didn't God warn them and they were blind and dumb to listen? Such thing canner come without warning ⚠️ from God.
Just know that if you run, fine but don't rewrite the Bible for us that divorce must be the option, don't force it to Christians. Some home are broken today because we give them wrong understanding about how to manage domestic violence by divorce or separations, including homes where the wives are the causes of the problems in their homes which results to men are the ones now facing emotional violence from their wives. This is because films and speeches like this have given people wrong understanding about marriage.
The film did not even show us that the church should engage in prayer, it wouldn't have lead to that. So, it looks like more of entertainment than evangelical.
Let us not show to the world that devil can be glorified in our sorrows, God is more than able to deliver us, rather than providing our solutions outside the plan of God in marriage. I don't agree with this movie especially how it ended with Sarah's speech, announcing to leave her marriage just like that without a trace to how they started on a wrong foundation Matthew 7:24-27, to be lessons to those coming to the marriage.
May God deliver our generation that misinterpret things of God because our heads are full of knowledge.
