Based on my understanding of Christianity, we can not classify two people that are unequally yoked to be a Christian. If there is violence in a home, then it is either both or one of them is not a Christian but mere church goer. Christians dont leave a violent life but a Christ like life. I think what a movie like this should base attention on is how we can lay a solid Christianity foundation for our youth that are attracted to opposite sex for the wrong reason and not because they are truely Children of God.

I will never support divorce but separation I will support 100% especially when the life is at stake, for the healing of the victim's soul . If someone die in such state I don't think they will make it to heaven because that person will be full of bitterness, raging anger and unforgiveness due to the pain and torture. Church of God, let's stop defending our name ,what will people say. Rather, let's begin to fight for the trap's soul. Keeping such far away from a violent atmosphere will help the restoration and the healing faster. Then the healed soul can now pray for the other partner in the right frame of mind. Shalom

What was the intended lesson in this. I don't see any grace in this movie for this woman. Pastors, our loving Father, would never subject us to bleed in marriage in this way as it doesn't glorify him. Abused spouses are not gospel, and the church have written their own script on this, which is 'STAY '. at the expense at ones life. There is no scriptural revelation here, no insight. no k owledge. Only the absence of understanding. God help us!

With all the promises God made with Abraham it didn't stop the devil coming in when they didn't have the fruit of the womb at a time they thought they could hence Sarah bringing in Haggai 2. With the anointing upon Samson's life and him being a covenant child Delilah still hoped in and brought him down 3. Job was the most loved servant of God but he was tried and tested . What happened to Moses , David and so many more ??? Theres always a loop hole that only prayers , consistence ,guidance of the Holy spirit can fill . We can say in Desmonds marriage the loophole was wide open and the people they thought would be of help were also bound because none told them to seek Gods presence, the ladys father shocked me when all he told her was he had a meeting to attend😅😅😅 it was soo bad I think the writer wanted us to face the reality that everyone nomatter their spiritual stand falls short of Gods glory and we are all tried and tested even our Lord Jesus christ was tested by the devil at the mountain after his 40 days of prayer and fasting it took the presence of the Holy spirit that gives wisdom ,knowledge, revelations for him to win. I don't understand this film. Are you standing on the divorce or separations as opinions for peaceful home? All the things Mrs. Sarah Desmond said is true based on her experience in her marriage but the question remains, does that make a standard for the christian home? Why do we like to create problems that hunt us for our selfish reason then we make it to be reasons for divorce? Marriage is beautiful only to them who follows the will of God in choosing the life partner God chose for you and not for everyone in the marriage. People in Sarah's shoe should go back check their starting, was God not silent when they were pushing? Didn't God warn them and they were blind and dumb to listen? Such thing canner come without warning ⚠️ from God. Just know that if you run, fine but don't rewrite the Bible for us that divorce must be the option, don't force it to Christians. Some home are broken today because we give them wrong understanding about how to manage domestic violence by divorce or separations, including homes where the wives are the causes of the problems in their homes which results to men are the ones now facing emotional violence from their wives. This is because films and speeches like this have given people wrong understanding about marriage. The film did not even show us that the church should engage in prayer, it wouldn't have lead to that. So, it looks like more of entertainment than evangelical. Let us not show to the world that devil can be glorified in our sorrows, God is more than able to deliver us, rather than providing our solutions outside the plan of God in marriage. I don't agree with this movie especially how it ended with Sarah's speech, announcing to leave her marriage just like that without a trace to how they started on a wrong foundation Matthew 7:24-27, to be lessons to those coming to the marriage. May God deliver our generation that misinterpret things of God because our heads are full of knowledge.

This is a big issue that requires urgency, but my questions is why there no solution to a crucial problem like this, a lot has been a victim. But there is something that comes to my mind as I was watching the movie the family or the pastor should tell the man to be sleeping in the church to seek the face of God for deliverance from the evil habit until he change. Jesus Christ's message is that divorce should not happen lightly, but it is permissible when marriage vows are continually broken without genuine repentance. David Instone-Brewer, in Divorce and Remarriage in the Church: Biblical Solutions for Pastoral Realities, emphasizes that divorce should not happen because marriage is a covenant witnessed by God. Nonetheless, if vows are continuously broken without repentance, divorce becomes a valid option. God’s divorce of unrepentant Israel serves as a precedent, allowing victims of marital vow violations to seek divorce without guilt. The sin lies in breaking the vows, not in the act of divorce. Divorce, therefore, is a recourse for those wronged within the bounds of biblical grounds. A believer should strive not to cause divorce by breaking marital vows. When a marriage becomes a source of suffering, a Christian-not the pastor or the church-must make a biblically informed decision, considering these three choices: 1) Remain in the marriage and hope for improvement. 2) Separate without pursuing a divorce. 3) Divorce, based on biblical grounds. If both partners are believers, or if not but willing to be together, every effort should be made to reconcile according to God's word, emphasizing repentance and forgiveness.

The church should have allowed them to be separated for a while because of the beatings. No partner should ever stay in a home where they are being beaten because they could end up dead and that’s not God’s will.

They left him in his leadership position in the church and were pleading with the woman to keep on enduring the beatings. She tried o. I won't stay under the same roof with him from the first day he raised his hands to beat me. Ha! There's only one life, and I won't lose mine cheaply and unceremoniously to a man who cannot control himself, even without provocation! There's no marriage in heaven. It all ends here on earth. Encouraging women to stay in adulterous marriages where the husbands are unrepentant adulterers, say nothing, cook for him, pray for him, keep having sex with him and treat him great while he continues to sleep around. This is the wrong message presented as a christian message to women (mind you never the other way to men). Yet in the bible adultery is a clear ground for divorce or at least seperation till other comes to his senses. But some african christians are preaching a holier than the bible gospel. Never mind danger of aids, stds, physical and mental abuse, emotional pain & trauma that follows this disregard of the standard of scripture and imply that women should remain with & treat wonderfully a perpetual adulterer husband.

As children of God and the church, we must always apply wisdom. In cases like this, ministries usually forbid the couple to separate sometimes because of a religious approach to scriptures. How about the parents of the abused... They will usually tell her to remain in the house. Thus, in the name of their so-called credibility or tradition. Wisdom is profitable to direct... therefore in all thy getting, get wisdom. Additionally, daughters of Zion are dying fools deaths because of a lack of wisdom - church attendance, and even leadership positions do not equate to transformation. Above the aforementioned, people make costly mistakes because they do not consider the leadership of the Holy Spirit at all. There is no way you will surrender your life to God obey the voice of the Holy Spirit and fail in life... NO WAY. We must wake up. And be more serious in our Christian life.
