    The double neck came into play after the release of Stairway that is on the 4th Zeppelin album. Then they recorded Houses of the Holy and what we just watched was the tour for that album. Jimmy plays both 6 and 12 string in both songs

    Personally not a fan of the fantasy sequences. I much prefer watching them perform without that distraction, and they performed these two fantastic songs fabulously. :)

    • @glenchapman3899
      @glenchapman3899 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That had to do with the fact there was so little actual live footage to use. Most of the film was reshot in a studio, and the fantasy sequences was suggested to help pad out the lack of visuals

    Yes sir the golden god was 24, he is a major outdoorsman and loves dogs and horses…fun fact the horse he was riding in The Rain Song was 1 of his. Robert’s fantasy takes place in Wales (very close to where my family is from. Did you notice the flag on his boat? Dev you look at Robert the same way I have for 50+ years!!! You should try to visit. My nan was from Ebbw Vale which isn't far from Raglan Castle. I used to go there a lot as a child including a 6 month stay in the late 1970s.

    Two observations. Firstly, anyone eating a magic mushroom THAT size is definitely heading for a world of weird. Secondly, Dev has a great laugh. Think most of the fantasy sequences were filmed on or near the coast of West Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. Possibly Dolgellau ( I challenge Mike to pronounce that word next time!). Thanks both, really really cool and enjoyable as ever.

    Led Zeppelin owes alot of their success to Peter Grant their manager and he alaways made sure the band got every penny they earned and he had a notorious temper but iam friends with his daughter Helen and he was a big teddy bear when it came to his kids and the band members kids, when Bonzo died he became reclusive and got heavy into drugs but cleaned himself up eventually but he was never the same after Bonzos death

    Trivia: The fair maiden Plant rescues is Virginia Parker, an American model then working in the UK. The maiden was originally played by Plant's wife Maureen. It is said that at Plant's request this it was done again . Maureen is a woman of Indian heritage and maybe not the fair maiden Plant imagined. Parker got the job through her agency. She says she met Plant at the audition and on the day of filming only. Never met the band. Parker was not an actress and says she was told to look at the camera and not smile. She adds that it took longer to curl her hair ("I think Mr. Plant was going for someone with an Arthur Rackham-esque, fairytale illustration look") than to shoot the scene. Parker, after a career as a journalist, is now an artist in the US.

  • @bubhub64
    @bubhub64 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Peter Grant, probably the most legendary band manager in history, maybe aside from Tom Parker, was responsible for the change in the music industry of the artist getting most of the money instead of the record producers and companies. As a result Zeppelin as well as other bands became filthy rich. Grant was a big intimidating man and ex wrestler who would scan audiences to see who was trying to bootleg a Zeppelin show. If you were caught, your equipment was smashed by him and you might have gotten a thumping by him or from his crew. Grant is almost as legendary as Zeppelin themselves. The long haired guy Grant yells at always reminded me of 'Meathead' from " All in the Family."
