The UFO albums with Neil are absolutely solid, The Wild Willing and the Innocent being one of my all-time faves. Have listened to this once and so far, really into it---Phil sounds incredible.
1000% Agreed I’m 62 years remembered the Schenker years but comes to a solid album “The Wild Willing and Innocent” is my favorite. I now own the Live “Makin’ Moves in Chicago 1981” CD . I was there front row I’m yelling loud through out the show I can hear me during Lights Out in Chicago” Mechanix Making Contact were Great LPs too. But Strangers in the Night is Schenker greatest hits live 4 me. , but I heard Paul Chapman had filled in for Michael on that tour. Luckily Schenker behaved during the recording in Chicago, I was there too.. first UFO experience. Obsession Tour 1978.
I Listen to the album on Spotify and loved it. So i ordered the album right away. Just for the info drummer Joe Lazarus is the nephew of Steve Harris. 😁
This album sounds nothing like UFO which is my favorite band since first seeing them in i1977 in Oakland California Phil proves what a true, talented musian he his His work is always tasteful and classic beauty for our ears.Thank you Phil, for another piece of great material.....
The license plate on the car does say UFO in the font they use. You can see it better on the viny, and over the door of the building it reads UFOffice. Pretty cool
Doctor Eddie Ganja Here I first discovered UFO in 1974 on Don Kirshnwrs Rock Concert There live performance on that show blew me away Saw them in 1978 one of the last shows with Michael Shenker Love Moggs Motel every song is great Always loved Phil Moggs voice I'm huge Fan of UFO since 1974 Liked Waysted as well UFO great musicians kept Rocking Phil
Moggs Motel is a excellent record - Phil sounds great as does the band. That said...... I think UFO was active into 2022 - not 2019. Their wikipedia page says they were active into 2024 but I don't agree with that either since their final show was in 2022 - Jul6 16, 2022. I know Phil just said in an interview a few days ago that the end was 2019 - but not sure how that is possible when they played shows into 2022. Phil Mogg was reported to have a heart attack in Sep of 2022 - not a stroke. The first Vinnie Moore UFO record was You are Here which was released in 2004 so I believe that is 20 not 25 years. Finally - I don't think you have spent sufficient time listening to the Vinnie Moore era UFO. There is a ton of kick ass music on those records - Vinnie's playing is amazing. Finally I don't believe Moggs Motel is another UFO album at all. My opinion. However you want to label it - it is an excellent album and I hope its not just a one-off. Too many factual errors on your review and I have to say having a Pearl Jam license plate in view is disappointing. Cannot stand the Seattle grunge scene at all.
Great review Brendon. UFO is one of my favorite bands and this is my favorite UFO type release since You Are Here. I'm holding out hope for some live dates in the U.S.
Have you considered getting a streaming subscribing for $9.99 a month? That’s only the cost of one paid download and then you’d have access to all the other new music too. I highly recommend it instead of buying digital albums. Also if you buy your physical copies from Amazon, you get a free digital download through Amazon Music. So if you want both physical and digital you can have both for the price of one from Amazon. Something to think about if either will save you money over time.
Such a great year for hard rock, with fantastic releases by Mogg, Dead Daisies, Black Country Communion, Gotus, Jack Russel/Tracy Gunns, Black Crowes, Sebastian Bach, The End Machine, etc .
Nice picked. "Lights Out" is my favorite UFO album. It has a song "Try Me" a beautiful ballad like "Belladona" it also have the heaviest UFO song titled "Love To Love"
This is the best from Mogg since Sign of 4! I just couldn’t get into the Vinnie years. He’s very technical without any soul. Love the twin guitar sound of this album!
Love the album...will be the best this year..the Voodoo Six trio are outstanding too...if you know Voodoo Six...listen to their first album..First Hit For Free...a little known classic... then you will hear similar instrumentals that are now on Moggs Motel....and thats a very good thing....the vocalist on that album..Henry Rundell is outstanding and should be in the business today....just as Phil is on this album.....keep rockin n rollin Mr Mogg....already looking forward to the next album and a live date or two in the UK.....God willing.....enjoy 🇬🇧✌️
Phil didn't suffer a stroke. He had a heart attack and stints inserted. Damn good effort here though, carrying on the UFO torch. The man/band is a legend the industry continues to ignore. Their loss.
When do we get the Darkside Records video? I thought it was supposed to come out yesterday. We are looking forward to it since it's one of our go to record stores since there are none in White Plains or anywhere near here that sell new CD and not much else. Only a Newbury Comics, which has a lot of nothings and a small section of vinyl and even smaller section of CDs.
When I originally said it would post yesterday (Sunday) I forgot about the 2 album reviews that were new and needed to go up. Since the timing of the trip doesn’t matter I decided to push it back until tomorrow (Tuesday). Sorry for the confusion and delay.
@@BrendonSnyder no problem saw the video for for Darkside. It was great, my friend Danny was there on Saturday. I didn't go with him because I was busy.
Nice review and thanks for the history. I am so late to UFO. I am going to order this CD from Japan. Its in a jewel case. I am boycotting digipacks. I’m done with them.
Followed Phil for almost 50yrs. Great album. Funny how a 55’ running time is now the norm. Back in the day two x 20’ sides was perfect. When it comes to recording and the digital era … bands do more for less. That’s why live work has to bring in the big bucks these days.
It’s really the other way around. In the 90’s and early 2000’s it was the norm for bands to record 60+ mins. When the CD took off in the early 90’s bands became pushing the limits of how much could fit on a CD with some bands recording nearly 80 mins. That’s the era I grew up in so for them to bring it back down to 45 to 50 mins is far less than what they used to record at one time. Granted UFO has been around long enough that early albums from them used to be at the 40 min mark. So for them I’m sure they just feel like they have come full circle. I always felt like the 70 to 80 min album was too much to digest and often contained lots of filler so I’m glad the shorter length album has made a return.
@@BrendonSnyder I’m that bit older than you Brendon, so the LP era is my default. Also … in the CD era bands still made good money. Certainly not the peanuts they make from downloads.
The album I have received in the UK does have a bar code, no bill board pic on the back cover and only says Moggs Motel (No Phil Mogg) on the sides, oh and by the way, music brilliant.
IDK when the last show was…but Phil said in an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock that he considers the end of the band to be 2019. The statement is also part of the history ok Wikipedia. Regardless they had a long amazing career.

Real good album!!! I'm enjoying it. Phil sounds great
Neil Carter rocks on this album! 👍
Killer album, 1 listen in so far, sounds amazing 🤘🏼🤘🏼🎸🎸
Killer indeed… for me it’s all “killer” no filler 👍
Love it. Great Album start to finish.

Really great Job Brandon. Like it. Thx.
A Great Killer album, mighty impressed, the MAN had a heart attack in 2022, and delivers such an amazing album in 2024. Respect!
Pretty diverse album from the heavy track 'princess bride' to the outstanding 'storyville' , gets better with each listen ... 🤩
Storyville is a really great track that I too am liking more and more
great release from PHIL MOGG in 2024, love the new CD. Glad to see him still rockin , and voice in fine form. Thumbs up.
Liking the album a lot. Great review Brendon.
Killer album! And a UFO album in all but name!!
Very strong album! Phil rarely disappoints. 🤘

I really liked A Conspiracy Of Stars. I felt that was their best album with Vinnie Moore.
Just bought this album via Apple streaming. It’s nice that the “old” guys are still putting out credible new music.

Amazing analysis. Great album. I’ve been an UFO fan since seeing them live in Columbus, OH in 1978.
Masterpiece! If I'm not mistaken. It's looks like the car from the movie "Christine" on the front cover.
It is yeah, love that cover.👍
Solid album i like it .
Yeah from start to finish it’s really good.

Album rocks! Phil is such a distinctive writer. Love his other one Moog - Dancing With St Peter.
Great review. I agree with you totally.

Terrific blast it the boss is back ha ha
Great review - thanks.
