    HELLO there and welcome back to the tyler channel revival! Today we’re making an unsavory steak dish featuring peanut butter, a T-Bone, and an angry celebrity chef. what do you guys think? would you try the ~peanut butter steak~? and yes, we know this is not how you're supposed to cook an actual steak - and yes, we know that the peanut butter jar we used is already contaminated even though we didn't spoon the stuff from the pan back in the jar! we did have to retire the jar after this video... i hope you guys enjoy this cursed culinary behavior, and we’ll catch you in the next video!

    The simultaneous joy of the Tyler Williams channel being back, and the absolute horror that the steak was not only edible, but vaguely acceptable, is a very interesting duality.

    I love how y’all went the extra measure to not put the excess scooped peanut butter back in the jar to prevent contaminating it, when in fact Tyler using the spoon to spread the peanut butter on raw steak and then getting more scoops out of the jar with said spoon that touched raw steak still contaminated the jar of peanut butter regardless 😂

    I definitely feel like theoretically, using like a peanut oil could be good if you want the peanut flavor? Would probably be easier to work with too. But also you could marinate the steak with some other flavors to keep it nice and juicy and flavorful. I saw someone talking about using some sort of sweet chili jelly or something, that could create some interesting texture.

I feel like maybe less peanut butter?... but can't wait to see more stuff in this series!! and anything other on this channel haha

  • @chie261
    @chie261 2 ปีที่แล้ว +119

    This could maybe be acceptable if you made a peanut sauce with the peanut butter and soy sauce, maybe some garlic and green onions, and marinate it-it could be actually good lol.

    • @amandaoh2025
      @amandaoh2025 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      See the soy sauce would make it more liquid? I think that's the issue. We're all react to the visceral "I smeared a thick paste on this steak and tried to cook it" part. But you are right! Rice as a side dish and you'd have a fine meal. I THINK? And I'm not sure? But if I try to trace the "oh sweet *expletives*" feeling to its source? It's the "You're gonna make a huge mess and burn it" feeling of adding something with far too little water in it to something at the beginning.
      I'd have also done some veggies in the same sauce then combined them but that's just us saving this trainwreck together lol add som SPICES

    Welcome back! Done properly, it could be really good! There used to be a burger place in Burbank called Mo's that had a peanut butter and golden wild plum jam burger that was fabulous...but of course they were applied after the burger was cooked, and the burger (which was super-high quality) was seasoned with salt and pepper.

  • @brittanylawless680

    In college, I lived close to a place that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives that made a burger with peanut butter. I've had it before and it was pretty legit. Growing up, my high school also served peanut butter sandwiches with chili mac and all of us used to dunk that peanut butter sandwich into the chili mac and that was good too.

    Oh Crusty! What an absolutely wonderful cat he was. My best friend lost her dog of 15 years, on Wednesday, the same day that another friend lost her kitty of 19 years. And remembering all three of these very special beasties makes me miss the 3 of my cats that I've lost in the last 5 years. I'm so very happy that Crusty found you two, and I'm so thankful that you made the last chapter of his life, one of never being cold and wet, or hungry, or scared, or sick. Instead you made his life one of warmth, love, yummy food, and a place where he could easily dig an indentation to poop in. Please consider adopting another older cat, as so few people want them. And older cats know that they've been rescued. Unfortunately, some POS's dump their cats when they get old(er). These are probably the same kind of people who rarely, if ever, visit their elderly relatives in care homes. I thank you from the bottom of my street cat rescuing heart! 💛 from 🇨🇦!

    Hate to say it, dude, but you've contaminated the jar already by using the spoon to spread the PB and then dipping it back in the jar for another scoop.

      yeah, we had to retire the jar after the video... the entire cooking situation was a bit upsetting

    If they had made a peanut butter sauce and dripped it on top of a cooked steak, it could have been better. Steak and peanut butter is not too strange of a combination but the way they cooked it was strange and deserved every word grodon ramsay said.

    Thoughts on the recipe: the putting it back in the jar makes me think it's a definite troll. Peanut butter as a marinade makes a lot of sense, the sugars (when mixed with acidic things like soy sauce, Worcester sauce, wine, vinegar, etc) should caramelize the meat pretty nicely and give a really great flavor. I could even see less peanut butter being used as the primary oil a la a Grilled Charlie (from Always Sunny), but the recipe a it was shown has just way too much peanut butter. There are some great peanut butter marinades worth checking out online, but Gordon makes his money off of betting over-the-top, so it makes sense he would overreact to something that has a culinary basis but seems "weird."
    Glad y'all are back 😊

    I love the concept of this video but I was SO nauseous watching this. So I smashed that like button while debating the liking-ness I had for this video! 😂 Anywhosit - welcome back Tyler!!

    Oh, I've missed the random videos on this channel! I'm so excited!
    Edit: so, this video is one of my hells apparently. The visual is absolutely vile but the commentary certainly makes up for it.

    The bit at the end. peanut butter and jelly beef Wellington, you could call it a Beef Jellington. I'll see myself out.

    The amount of times Tyler re-dipped the spoon in the jar of peanut butter... I really hope they don't plan on using that peanut butter in the future lol

    I feel like this is one of the only videos by these two I've had to do 10second skips everyone once and a while because the cooking process was freaking me out somehow.
    And saf was right to cook it so long. Getting food poisoning from a steak smothered in peanut butter would really harsh a vibe.
