Engine sizes were 803 cc (1948-52), 918 cc (1952-56), 948 cc (1956-62) and 1098 (1962-71). The noise you can hear are trains running above the workshop, which was located underneath the railway arches. I think this company moved to Chorlton and became Minor Millenium

I can't criticise anyone for having a passion for these old Morris Minor's But for me
as a child in the 60's I hated the look of them, and I still don't like them now.
I especially disliked the "Woody Wagon" as the Americans used to call theirs back
in the 40's and 50's That's the Traveller with the wooden sides. I suppose, as they
say, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" As I said earlier, I have to admire your
enthusiasm for these old cars though.

The original Minor did not have a 998cc engine as claimed. The early cars had an 803cc engine. This was upgraded to 998 when the car became the Morris Minor 1000 and uprated again to to 1098cc . Although the 1098cc was the most powerful of the engines, the 998cc was the smoothest.

The Series MM cars had a 918cc side valve engine.

No Morris Minor had a 998cc engine, after the 803 it became 948.

If you look at the very first Minor as it came off the designing board, the headlights were down to the right and left of the grill, just above the bumper. In my opinion, that was an unfortunate ugly "face" to give a car. I heard in one TH-cam video that the Canadians required the headlights to be mounted higher on the car in order for it to be exported to Canada. Thank you, Canada! We can thank Canada for the adorable appearance of the Morris Minor.

Ugly and over-rated things, although the engines were good. I worked on them in a dealers. Horrible 1940's styling. The bulbous bonnets were meant to suggest a big powerful engine underneath - ironic in the case of the Minor! The front suspensions often collapsed in the road without warning.

"The front suspensions often collapsed in the road without warning." Thats a half truth, they collapsed because of poor lubrication which is the fault of the user not getting off their arse and doing it.
At the end of the day it must drive you insane why so many people love these cars the world over, and still daily drive them
