    Excellent video! Many videos from tire shops just tell you you have uneven wear and something is wrong but FAIL to explain the reasons and educate the people. Thank you!

    My son’s 08 Taco had similar front tire wear. We ended up replacing the entire front end suspension with new struts, upper/lower control arms, and inner/outer tie rods. No Uneven wear after 3500 miles 👍 Thank you for your videos 👌🏼

    Great walk through of the different parts that could effect alignment and, in turn, tire wear.

    In the first generation 1995.5-2004 Tacomas, a known weak link in the front suspension is the LOWER ball joint. Catastrophic failure of these does occur, and they should be replaced every 100,000 miles with OEM ball joints.

    Really good. This is helping me narrow down the cause of similar tire wear on an Audi A4 B8 with severe inner shoulder tire wear.

      Did u find out which arms (if any) were causing this?
      My b8 A5 had the same issue on drivers side. Sounds a little noisy over rough patches in the road. Replaced both bottom arms but it's neither of those. Thinking maybe the upper arms but I'm not looking forward to taking the pinch bolt out 😂

    Great video for us amateurs.
    I would have started to suspect that something got bent, causing the tire wear.

    On my 2021 Taco both outer side of tire showing wear. Its about even on both front tires.
    It could be misalignment or component wear....
    Time to do some inspection.

    Im assuming this is true when looking for culprits in a 2006 Rav4 4. Got uneven front tire wear. Lower ball joint was replaced a year ago but I failed to inspect any of the suspension when I did the replacement.

    When the control arm bushings get loose, I throws off camber, castor and toe-in/toe-out alignments. Toyota uses great rubber but time and environment eventually kills all rubber things.

    Could lower control arm bushings cause the tire to severely wear on the outside edge? This is what is happening to my tires in the front and the mechanic said it was the lower control arm bushings.

    • @thehawk05
      @thehawk05 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it can. What can happen if the lower control arm bushings are bad is it can cause the control arm to push in excessively (towards the engine) when you turn. This can cause the camber to shift to a positive.
      Excessive toe-in is also a common cause as well

  • @joecia7

    Let's say the power steering was leaking, would that cause the truck to pull to one side and wear the tires? That's my current situation with my 07 Tacoma.

    • @ch1959
      @ch1959 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You should always realign after replacing a critical part like a LCA bushing. You won't always have a pull when the camber is out.

    • @passion830217
      @passion830217 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ch1959 That is not true. It is only true in theory. I have done that after replacing control arms and sway bar links without doing alignments.

    • @LAactor
      @LAactor ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ch1959 I didn't even need to change any suspension parts but have bought a new set of tires before, and did not do an alignment, did rotations every other oil change. Wore through those 30k tires in a year/12k. Never pulled. And I wasn't drifting. Front drive Lexus. People want to save $100 in alignment but lose many hundreds in new tires, smh, people don't think!!
