This is a rumination about getting old. Who wants, can look around what's going on today. Of course it won't be the same, as the experiences you had when you were growing up.
I've been thinking about this a lot. And I think part of the answer is the mystery surrounding the old guitar heroes. There were myths about all of them. Social media put a stop to that sadly. Nowadays guitar heroes aren't marketable. That's the second reason I believe. Of course we have guitarist who are at least as good as the old heroes, but the general world doesn't care anymore. Maybe because the heroes of today are quite friendly, calm and seemingly behaving people on the contrary to the Jimi's, the Kurts and others. Anyway Big fan of Tim Henson. Discovered him a few weeks ago (I know, waaaayyy too late). He's a revolutionary guitarist. Could easily go mainstream if he simplifies his music. He inspired me to go out of my own world (which is mostly funk-type guitar). This summer I will be training on my legato, tapping and more metal-techniques to try out his songs :D Also big fan of Cory Wong btw, the guy is phenomenal live!
My Grandpa just died yesterday, and he always told to watch the sunset and apreciate it, so this song coming from my favorite guitarrist is like a gift.

tim's lil bathtub solo really just like encapsulates why hes so special to me. the solo starts and you kinda think you know where hes going with it and just flips the melody on its head, breaks it down into his own motifs, and adds such pretty flourishes that give him his own unique style. its literally like listening to hendrix or stevie ray vaughan, you just know who you're listening to.
You should check out Eternity Forever then. They have a 5(?) song ep that I think you'd find worth the listen. Oh, and maybe Royal Coda (same singers, slightly heavier). And idk, Strawberry Girls (mostly instrumental) kinda got a similar vibe too. I feel like I'm forgetting a band, but I digress.

There has not been a stage of talent in the guitar world, like this, since Via, Satriani and Petrucci jammed together. This was a simple arrangement it was still full of challenging moments and was brilliant and elegant, it is a masterpiece.
