@@theoverengineer I'm going to guess that these are not meant to be taken apart and serviced, like the BB-UN51, BB-UN26, and the average cartridge bearing. Were any special tools needed?
How do you remove the housing from the spindle? Ive already disassembled mine and managed to take out the seal on the other side not the driver side. Do you press them or simply knock the spindle?
Hi @theoverengineer. Thanks very much for the video. I've got a BB-ES51 and have managed removing the non drive side plastic seal without damaging it like @HanumanGoku. You think these two BB's are the same? I tried taping it but it doesn't move. More force maybe? @HanumanGoku you managed to put it back together?
I have the bb es300. Theres some play on it. What is the cause?? And i manage to take out the plastic seal on the non drive side without damaging. It is possible for service???
Great explanation of different sealing methods. Taking things apart is the best way to understand their design. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
It didn't replace square taper, it was the successor.
The external bottom bracket isn't supposed to be taken apart. If you do, you ruin it. Same goes for the Octalink. Thanks.
Would have been really useful if you actually showed us how you opened/disassembled the unit..
It was difficult, somewhat brutal, took 30 min but spread over weeks in real time

The balls in the external style make many times the rotations as the Octalink balls.
Hi, Do you know the size balls for this BB?, thanks
If you thought that this would be the answer to refurbishing the BB then like me you were wrong.
Siry oclalink bb is loose. How can i fix it. Thank you.
Does Octalink also have a slight taper, so there's no wiggle in the cranks once everything is tightened down?
Yes it does

I tapped it out from the inside
@@theoverengineer thank you very much sir!!!

So it's not a good idea to buy them?
Bad intended design because it is a perfect serviceable bottom bracket.
