Hey, thank you very much for posting this. Strange Days has been one of my favorite, definitely one of my favorite action movies of all time. It's got a large number of unusual elements in it that makes it such a lasting impression and also a worthy subject for analysis over and over. Mace is a really precious character to me. Angela Bassett delivered a great performance there. Cyberpunk atmosphere, Noir genre elements, necessary social commentary, speculative fiction goodness, Strange Days has lots to offer.
Agreed. I saw it in theaters as soon as it came out. It's really packed with ideas and energy. It's sad that it remains an obscure film and hasn't become more of a cult classic like Blade Runner. While the "turn of the millennium" element may be dated, the VR stuff is still extremely relevant to the present day.
This movie has suffered from a lacknof distribution. I was very lucky to find a DVD, but I had been on he lookoit fir years and years. It needs a blue ray release
If strange days ever comes to blu-ray and 4k in the united states, apart of me wants to see this get a "criterion collection" release. As well as a complete soundtrack release with Graeme Revell and Deep Forest's complete score from the film.
From what I understand, James Cameron is the reason why there’s no US Blu-ray release (too busy devoting his life to Avatar…ugh). However, Germany has the 20th Anniversary Edition (unedited, avoid the UK release which is edited) on Blu-ray. Bought it off eBay for $24.95 + free shipping. Watched it on my region-free player last weekend and it looks amazing.
Love the Virtual Reality technology in it which connects wirelessly to human brain, and completely captures every feeling and sense. Harrari said a couple of years ago there will come a time when we wont be allowed to travel. So I see this VR tech to be introduced within 10years or so to compensate the society for taking away our freedom....

There is one, but you gotta import it from Germany.
