I replaced all the trem blocks with brass ones, other than that the only one I did no other mods to other than changing strings and set up was the Squier. All the other one's pickups get too muddy with extreme metal gain tuned to c#, the neck on the Squier is pretty chunky but it definitely is the best straight out of the box of the ones I own.

I really wanted to hear a comparison between the Kramer Striker and Kramer Pacer and this totally delivers. Fun fact about the Contemporary Strat. Back in the 1980s, the original Fender Contemporary Strat was actually a MIJ (Made in Japan, for those of you who don’t know) response by Fender to all the superstrats on the market from Jackson, Charvel, Kramer, and Ibanez.
Kramer all the way! I own the Baretta Vintage with a Floyd Rose and can’t put it down (and I own 27 guitars… and counting). I was rather shocked by the Squier. I have had one or two, and can’t say anything bad about them. However, the one you demonstrated just sounds weak compared to the other guitars. It has the traditional Fender tone, but the pickups seem low output? Not in the same ball park as the others. MHO.
I have this Kramer Pacer and had to sand the frets a bit and plan out some frets. The Flyod Rose special is blocked backwards with a tremstoper (down action only). I wired everything on a single 500k volume pot and a big Gibson style toggle switch. The tone is off. After these small changes and works the guitar stay in tune correctly, and the 2 humbuckers have gained in treble and slightly more output level.
That Squire Contemporary is an homage to the classic "E Series" Contemporary strats from Japan, made in the 80s by Fuji Gen Gakki. I just purchased a 2014 MIJ strat which is also a very rare Japanese market only homage to the Contemporary strat. It's a ST62-FR. Black neck, black headstock, vintage white alder body, rosewood fingerboard, hot HSS pickups, one volume one tone, black 3 ply pickguard, factory Gotoh tuners and Gotoh GE1996T trem. Its one sick puppy, and they are definitely not common. I'd rather this over any modern style shred guitar. Strats are my thing, it's what my hands are comfortable with, and I just love the look of a rodded up strat. It's so 80s.
Sweet video. I underestimated the Floyd Rose Squier. I have one with the hard tail weird SSS setup. But the Floyd Rose with the HH configuration and the five way switch..man.. that is an amazingly versatile guitar ..

I have one of the Kramer Striker in that Translucent Red finish. I am in decision as to if I will change out the Floyd Special for a Floyd 1000 with fully upgraded parts on it.....or leave the Floyd Special as is.
Hey, Dagan. Awesome playing, as always. How about a video on the new Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal HSS FR M? I can't decide between that one and the Ibanez RG550 Genesis.
I have a regular Pacer which I love. I have tried the Gem Jr which I thought was nice to play, but didn't give me the Stratty out of phase vibe. Was looking at getting the Striker as I saw a video that showed some lovely cleans, but a lot of the review vids I watched were pretty scathing. I settled on a cheap Strat for cleans, and will probably look at getting a full fat Baretta next instead!
Harley Benton makes a nice SC (Les Paul) design with a floyd rose, one version comes with Active EMGs, if that tickles ya. Look into the Harley Benton SC-Custom Plus EMG FR VBK

do you recommend a floyd rose on someone who’s been playing for about a year and a half??? i’ve been using my SSS squier and i feel like a need a new guitar but i’m not sure whether the floyd is too much of a big step from my squier. thank you.
Id say go for it bro I went from a epiphone les paul special II to a jem jr and its best thing I’ve ever done. Tuning wasn’t so hard as well as setting it up with the floating trem since the jem junior doesn’t use a floyd rose but a ibanez version and it stays in tune pretty well. Jem jr will cost you 500 new but the jackson would be a better bet since i seen them for 330 new at guitar center. But i went with the j Ibanez because i wanted the hum-bucker single coil humbucker set up the jackson has just two himbuckers. But id say go and play them in person and see what you like
Forget these. Get a Kramer Baretta or 84 for £500 (yes you can get these new for this price). You get an actual Floyd 1000 series trem as oppose to the vastly inferior Specials AND Seymour Duncan pickups. Out of these the Striker is the better value imo.
Actually, the only difference between the Special and 1000 is the saddles and block. Replace the zinc saddles and block with 1000 Series steel and block and you have a 1000.
@@scottdunn2178 Yep but why bother replacing and fiddling when you can just buy it outright for £500? The difference might seem small but massive improvements to tone and playability. Coupled with Seymour Duncan pickups - think it's a no-brainer really. I'd rather get a £500 Kramer with these appointments new than a Schecter for near £1000 for a Floyd Special for example or a Jackson X Series for £500 with non-Seymour Duncan pickups and a Special bridge. Honestly outside Kramer there really isn't a better Super Strat for the money and don't get me started on Harley Benton 🤣.
@@EricCPOP I'd take a Harley Benton Fusion lll with a FR 1000 for $444 over any of these. I could care less what it says on the headstock. These are all bought out companies anyway.
He doesn’t show you the whammy pedal that he’s using to make the dime bag squeals. Dimebag used a Wahwah pedal and pinch harmonic at the second fret when he did his high-pitched squeals, that’s how he got his tone.
I'm waiting on a Fender Japan ST62-FR strat with a factory Gotoh Floyd. From my research, full floating is a little finicky unless it's a quality unit like a German made Floyd or a Gotoh. Many people install a tremstop and set them up to dive only. Set with more spring tension, so it's as stable as a hardtail but you can dive bomb all you want. Makes string changes easier too, and you can drop tune and wont go out of tune when breaking a string. Also you won't have all the other strings going flat when you bend a string. The other option is a trem stabiliser. This is a little gadget with an adjustable spring loaded piston thing that sits in contact with the block. This is combined with more spring tension, so the trem can be set floating, but now it will be forced to return to zero by the stabiliser. You lose flutter capabilities a little, and have a slightly stiffer action, but if you break a string it won't go completely out of tune. You can also drop tune, and bending is more stable. This is what Steve Vai uses in all his Floyds. Otherwise for full Floyd action, hopefully yours is quality (knife edges and posts tend to wear and cause instability on cheap units) and you should block the trem with much higher spring tension than you need, then stretch strings, tune up and intonate ect if necessary, lock down, then remove the block and adjust the spring claw until it falls back into tune. Then it's floating with the trem perfectly parallel with the body.
Awesome video, Dagan you are soooo good. I hope to reach even somewhere close to your level someday. I'm a new guitar player, just started about a month ago. I got calluses, and trying to learn but man its a challenge at first, I have arthritis so, its now or never but I'm not giving up.... Anyway, I probably should've waited, but I just had to have the Ibanez Steve Vai, too good to pass up. It will be here in 3 days!!! I'm pretty sure my credit card is maxed out and my husband will kill me, but I WANTED It so bad!! Anyway, love your videos, you inspire me to keep practicing, rock on!!
As a somewhat more advanced player I’d recommend to learn a lot of guitar rock/metal guitar solos and stuff etc high energy Eddie van halen type stuff. And then learn your pentatonic scale, and some tapping. You’ll be shredding in no time!
Are all of these bridges the same size as a real Floyd Rose? So if you wanted to swap one out for an authentic Floyd Rose, will it fit without any modifications?
Can't..... make..... up my mind. I think I want them all!!! I'm being greedy but that Stryker, Jem......dang it Dagan my wife is gonna kill me if I buy all these!
"Im a floyd rose abuser, every single day of my life i do at least 16 divebombs, its just the way i roll" i've literally never heard a better sentence in my life
The late Edward Van Halen endorsement deal with Kramer WAS FREE . At the time Kramer guitar prices were very inexpensive . There was very little in profits being made with the guitars that had Floyd Rose tremolos . That's the main reason Eddie never made any money endorsing for Kramer . That's proof of one of many of Sammy Hagar's lies in his POS book RED . It wasn't about making money all the time with Ed .
I'd buy a Harley Benton Fusion lll with a Floyd Rose 1000 Series for $444 over any of these. The soft zinc saddles on the Special will eventually fail.
I got a question about the Jackson JS32Q DKA AH, is it possible to put emg pickups on that ting? Im pretty new to guitar, only played for a year, so I dont know much about modding. Rn I'm on the edge between buying the Jackson JS32Q DKA AH or the LTD KH202 but feel like if I buy the Jackson i wanna do some modding on it, but is it worth it to just buy the KH202 at that point?
If you wanna buy a guitar to modding it in the future - buy Jackson and yes, you can put emg’s in it, a lot of place for battery inside, if you don’t wanna do any mods go for KH202
The Les Paul is not a signature model because Les Paul had nothing to do with the design. It is an endorsed model. Les Paul started endorsing it a year after it was first made.
i gonna buy some floyd rose in future but i can't decide between ibanez rg320exz or jemjr i love rg320 brigde but i don't know is it better than jemjr can someone give some opinion on my choice?
Love a Jackson, but the tone is all wrong for me. I had a nice not so cheap Japanese hss. The tone is just so deep , the lows are so low the almost destort themselves out. I have a Ibanez now , it has just the righy tone for me..
I was impressed with that Floyd on the first Kramer. Dagan gave the trem a damn good thrashing and it still held tune. They don't usually do that at this price point.
yes, i concur
not at this point of price

Kramer and Jackson are some of best guitsr brands in existence for price to what you get. Jackson juat needs to file down those frets.
Niice! Yeah, it's awesome!
All the new jacksons have a scarf joint rofl terrible
How does the ibanez S520 stack up compared to these?
I wanted to know this too cause i wanted an affordable ibanez s with trem but that jem jr seems nice too so ye...
Are all of these bridges the same size as a real Floyd Rose? So if you wanted to swap one out for an authentic Floyd Rose, will it fit without any modifications?
John 5 is a great guitarist, but Dagan could definitely fill in for Mick Mars.
It'll make his day when i tell him this comment! 😂🤘
Schecter has got em all beat I think they have the best sound
Unfortunately the Jackson JS 32 Floyd on my Rhoads doesn't stay in tune at all. Not even if i don't use it.
Must need a set up & the strings stretched in more. Every one I've played has been awesome.
Can't..... make..... up my mind. I think I want them all!!! I'm being greedy but that Stryker, Jem......dang it Dagan my wife is gonna kill me if I buy all these!
How come you didn't add the Jet JS850FR?
"Im a floyd rose abuser, every single day of my life i do at least 16 divebombs, its just the way i roll"
i've literally never heard a better sentence in my life
How the Floyd on the Kramer does it stay in tune?
Love kramers because their the only super strats that look like super strats
The late Edward Van Halen endorsement deal with Kramer WAS FREE . At the time Kramer guitar prices were very inexpensive . There was very little in profits being made with the guitars that had Floyd Rose tremolos . That's the main reason Eddie never made any money endorsing for Kramer . That's proof of one of many of Sammy Hagar's lies in his POS book RED . It wasn't about making money all the time with Ed .
Can you pls try the Mitchell MD 200
if you're on a "super budget", get a Jackson Dinky js11. super cheap but absolutely sings! includes an FR too
What? It doesn't have a FR
I'd buy a Harley Benton Fusion lll with a Floyd Rose 1000 Series for $444 over any of these. The soft zinc saddles on the Special will eventually fail.
Got my eyes on that Squier
If I never oil my fretboard from now does it means it will resonate more ??
Nope!
anyone knows what he played at 18:06?
Does anyone played de Ibanez RG350DX ? It's better than the Jem Jr?
The Les Paul is not a signature model because Les Paul had nothing to do with the design. It is an endorsed model. Les Paul started endorsing it a year after it was first made.
i gonna buy some floyd rose in future but i can't decide between ibanez rg320exz or jemjr i love rg320 brigde but i don't know is it better than jemjr can someone give some opinion on my choice?
did you buy it?
Btw rg320exz is better
I’m so sad bc when I found this video the guitar I rlly wanted to checkout was out of stock
What’s the amp you are using sir?
Blackstar St James 6L6! 🤘
Kramer seemed very impressive
This video sounds like a Kerry King solo
😂😂😂
Why put a Floyd rise in the pacer and not have it floating.
What about EVH?
I didn't know Russell Brand played guitar
Lol listen to dagan go on about the colour of the wood changing tone nope ... but the body being painted Red does change the tone trust me on that
bro did not play civil war by guns n roses on the js32
Ayeeee motley crüe ❤
Hard tails next..
Love a Jackson, but the tone is all wrong for me. I had a nice not so cheap Japanese hss. The tone is just so deep , the lows are so low the almost destort themselves out. I have a Ibanez now , it has just the righy tone for me..
You're a McRiffin' dude!
🤘🤘
Dagan did one too many dive bombs today...that's why he is the crazy English bomber 👑 ..each bomb hurts his brain a bit more each time
“Squier!”
