I've just finished watching "Escape to Athena" on the bbc, starring Roger Moore, David Niven, Telly Savalas & Richard Roundtree (R.I.E.P Shaft) I just had to seek it out, wotta groove from Heatwave. Junior from London 😎😎👍🏿👍🏿🇬🇧🇬🇧🇯🇲🇯🇲
I have EXACTLY the same story from watching the end of the film earlier...I'm so glad I did! What an utterly infectious, joyous dance floor monster! Quite the best song I've heard for a while...
@@davecoalwood9487 yep agreed when i saw the tune come up after the ending of the film it was great to finally come across this on record top notch nice to now its appreciated by thoes that know and have taste
Man they were a great band! What chemistry! From writing and performing studio albums, to performing live, to writing and performing for movie soundtracks. Rod Temperton was a genius.
It's the funniest...... stupidest ..... upbeat ..... BRILLIANT track for start to finish !!! . I heard the record was only sold in Japan way back un 1979 ???? . Even when i quote the lyrics people laugh 🙂 . It's one of my favourite records !!!
Ive played this song 100 times now and i still cant understand what possessed RT to do this in the 70s, this is an incredible record barry blue was smoking that denk mixing this down, the wilder brothers and bilbo went to town on this masterpiece, RT would have to have sampled the greek guitar back then, i mean i could go on yall. Hope you keepin em dancin Rod.
Cheryl Lynn's 2nd album "In Love" produced by Barry Blue in 1979, is still one of the most complex albums I have ever heard. There are so many layers, and the mix is unlike anything else. I am amazed every time I play it.
Tight as fuck band, 2 great vocalists- one of which had the voice of sunshine, one of the most significant songwriters of all time all together and NO kids got fiddled with. Should of ruled the world!🙄
The theme song at the end of Escape To Athena movie.Does not get any better than that. Does any one know if any of the band members of Heatwave are still alive today?
I read in previous comments on the net Bilbo (drummer) is still alive. I saw HEATWAVE live in a nightclub in Oldham, England in 77 / 78 live on stage with Rod on Keyboard Boogie Nights Ain't no half steppin Too Hot & finished the set with Always & Forever. As an impressionable 19 yr old (now 66) I have been an ardent fan ever since. A recent "tribute act" have taken their name which is an insult and believe me they arre CR%P. God bless Robert from Manchester
I thought I heard all of Heatwave songs but I guess I missed this one. Helluva sound. I would love to have watched them record this one. I seen them, Heatwave, several times in my life and what a performance from them. They really put on a show. I too, like many of the comments on this thread, where can I get a copy of this record. The disco version that played here is very nice but I’d like to have the original version as well.

This song has eluded me for years. Cannot find it anywhere to buy
This song is what I remember most from that movie. It’s great! Some guy did a cover version on Spotify that is “interesting”.
I just watched that movie

Where can I get the lyrics of the song keep tomorrow for me , heatwave ?
Barry Blue co wrote this track and you can hear some similarities to dancing on Saturday night from 1973
What the hell were they thinking when they mixed this?
This is actually a Cut & Thrust remix ( @CutThrust ). Credit where credit's due, right?
Which record/vinyl release is this on?!?
Offside 7 Japenese Import.
Good Luck Though....and get Me a copy! 😁
Where can I get this song?
Pn vinyl the only way is Offside 7 a Japanese import....but I've been trying to get a copy for years!
Who made this edit? If they used the movie version then that is impressive work. Possibly AI.
Does anyone have the words to this song, as it's a little difficult to hear the words clearly. Many thanks. Terry Davis
Record Corner legend?
Thanks for replying, but the words are still unclear. Does anyone know the lyrics?
This should have been Trump's rally theme.
Such an inspiring and uplifting song.
I thought I heard all of Heatwave songs but I guess I missed this one. Helluva sound.
