    Ross wasn’t trying to look good or make dr green look bad and that’s what I love about it. He did it discreetly and quietly without letting Rachel or her father see. It was just from the goodness of his heart because he felt bad about the waiter not getting tipped enough

His GIRLFRIEND lives off tips, he has much more respect for her and her line of work then her own father. Now THATS cruel. Get over yourself. Idc who takes me where, if you're a disrespectful twat I'm not standing behind it. But fine, be okay with someone screaming racial slurs because they bought you ice cream... it's just hysterical how you'd be okay with that and still have the nerve to call other people toxic. I was raised under the ideals of see something, say something... your parents clearly failed in that department. He even hid it UNDER the receipt so the waiter would assume it came from him and her father wouldn't feel slighted. He wouldn't have known any different and the waiter would've gone home happy if he hadn't turned around. Trying to better a situation without upsetting anyone is in no way "toxic", thats what everyone should do when they see a situation that's morally wrong. The tipping system in USA truly amazes me, not only it's virtually mandatory which is crazy for the rest of the world the tipping amount you are expected to tip is insanely high. 4% sounds absolutely reasonable. I wish I made as much money as a US waiter.

    You know, I've read why the tipping culture is a thing in USA. That waiter is a very low-paid job and ext. What pisses me off is that through movie and series this idea of necessary tipping spread to the countries where waiter is quite NOT the most low-paid job. Of cause, they didn't make a lot of money. But for example, in my country teachers, nurses, retirees are very frequently making fewer money. But because of these stupid tipping culture, my mom, who is and teacher and a retiree and makes something like $400 a month is expected to tip a waiter, who earns like $450-500🤯 🤯 🤯

    Australia is alot more progressive than the U.S.A in a lot of ways, one being that service staff get paid a proper wage so no tipping is required. You'd only tip if the service was above and beyond.

    • @notthefather3919
      @notthefather3919 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @russkate88
      @russkate88 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@notthefather3919 back in 2013 when I was in London, I was at a cafe and ordered a slice of cake with some coffee. The waitress who took my order wasn't overly friendly, not that it really bothered me. But I was waiting for ages to get what I had ordered, and people who had come in after me got served before I did. So obviously that didn't sit well with me, so I alerted the waitress who had taken my order. I eventually got my order, but there was no apology or acknowledgement for their stuff up, and just like the U.S. The service staff work off tips. So as I was leaving, I paid exactly what I owed and left. I gave no tip, even though the bitch who served me was expecting one which was obvious by the way she was looking at me. So tipping doesn't always guarantee good service.
      I've had situations back home where my order has been overlooked and I've been given a meal on the house.
      So basically I've had better customer service in a country that doesn't rely on tips than in a country that does rely on tips.
      Might need an explanation on that one.
