@@WanderingWalksofWonderI was a railroad laborer for the BN railroad in 1978-79 and I was living in Alliance for the winter months from late November of 1978 to early March as I was furloughed for the winter months and I returned to work in McCook. I returned to Alliance in late August of 1979 and stayed there until late October or early November and relocated with another employee to Douglas,Wyoming for BN . I haven’t been back to Alliance since then.
This is the town I was born in at St. Joseph's Hospital. My stepfather moved the family away and I have only been back a few times. The occupants of the buildings have changed, but the buildings have not. I don't know what it would have been like had our family stayed, but I would have known my family (cousins, aunts, & uncles) much better. I hope to return one more time before I die.
Thanks. That videos was done a few years ago - this year I made some changes to my filming and now include a bit more narrative comments, subtitles, and even close captioning. I'll head back to NE next year and want to walk through Alliance and other communities and redo those videos to get updates as well as to add more narrative content.
My hometown! I worked in the Court House through high school and early adulthood.
Awesome!!!

Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed my time wandering around Alliance and seeing all the historic buildings and unique sites around this city.

It is a very nice small town
It's not low crime. People get away with murder here.

This is so painful to watch...why? Because I live here. So boring.
