      Last season I had my first YT trip with Sea Samurai. He helped me land three YT. I am not sure this season due to Corona Virus. We are planning to just fish local water. As we plan to retire to Oceanside within the next five years, we need to practice more in La Jolla and Oceanside. Will let you know when we plan to head to La Jolla.

    When fishing dropper loop for yellows, do you have your reel in gear or Free spool with thumb on it?

    • @chrisblevinsfishing
      @chrisblevinsfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In gear, with about 40# drag. Thanks for watching!

    • @ysmoose
      @ysmoose 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow thats alot if drag!

    • @chrisblevinsfishing
      @chrisblevinsfishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I meant to say 40% drag not forty pounds haha ya that would be a lot of drag, more than any of my reels can make lol

    So you look for the YT in sonar and then just drop it on them with the reverse dropper? You dont drag the bait right? I have a SIMRAD ff but I have a hard time identifying what a YT is compared to other fish and junk.

    I don't mean to sound rude. I noticed you had your foot in the water when you were reeling in a fish. I am not sure if sharks are an issue in your area. In some areas of the world that's a good way to get bit.

    What size hook do you recommend on the reverse dropper?

    • @chrisblevinsfishing
      @chrisblevinsfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the size of bait, but 2/0 to 4/0 generally on reverse dropper w fin bait
