there is a movie from the 70s that actually disturbed me. The movie was about the police state coming in the future. With Robert Duvall, the name of the movie is THX 1138. I saw that movie at the drive-in when it was newly released. And it was disturbing. Duvall was under surveillance by the robot police. They could see every move he made with cameras everywhere.
There was a similar movie made back then , Called colossus, the forbidden Project, Forbin was played by actor, John Aniston. Colossus is the United States, all powerful computer that linked up by itself to the Russian or powerful computer. Those computers had pretty much everyone that was somebody under surveillance. and Forbin played by John Aniston, was the mastermind behind colossus, the Americans computer. When these computers decided that humans were a problem, but still useful, Corbin recognized that, and tried to completely destroy the computer, but the computer knew every move he was going to make. Similar to HAL in the movie 2001..

I can't tell if he's joking but the orange dot indicates that an app (like camera) or OS feature (like siri) is accessing or recently accessed your microphone. If you have opened camera and closed the app the orange dot will remain there for a few moments.

That means an app is using your microphone, for stuff like calls and apps you have gave permission to get access to your microphone, it will not be outside of apps, and apple has a protection system on your microphone to detect unknown people trying to get into your microphone it will start a different version of the system so the person cannot access the microphone ever again.
