I have something that may make you happy. I am working on the ideas for a racing game that takes the high speed of F-Zero and puts a teen behind the wheel to save his city, as well as a platformer/beat em up that uses depth perception perfectly.
I know I commented on this song over 2 years ago, when it first came out, but I just wanted to comment again and say that this is still my favorite video game remix, period. The level of energy and excitement here is unreal, and I just love the instrumentation and arrangement in this one - the rhythms here are particularly stellar, as well! And I especially love the section from 0:25 - 0:29, as well as repeat variations of it later in the song - those parts just make me smile every time. Thank you for making such wonderful music over the years, Qumu, and for being a true inspiration for VGM enthusiasts!
I absolutely love all the care and skill that goes into the rhythms in your songs. The way you use accents and syncopation to make standard beats sound jivey and fun is just... too good! Thank you for another playlist-topping remix, Qumu!

All of my favorite musical arrangers have one thing in common: their number one goal is to have something that they think sounds good, and are less concerned with technicalities and music theory. If I were to arrange video game remixes (which I sincerely hope to someday), that would be my approach: to be like, "hey, I like the way this sounds, and I hope other people like it, too."

@@qumumusic I'm sure you'll feel a bit burned out by doing Big Blue already, but there's a lot of underrepresented tracks in the series on TH-cam. While I've seen a few covers of Silence, I think you would do fantastic things with the absolutely panty-dropping slap bass in Ending Theme. I feel like that track has the Qumu flavor written all over it.

@@qumumusic I've always wondered how much time goes into your remixes, and I'm sure it varies from song to song, but I would guess that the average is 15-18 hours per remix?
@@Equalyze a pretty accurate estimate when everything goes well and I have a clear idea of what I want to do before starting, but the actual average is more around 30 hours :o
@@qumumusic Wow, dang, that's truly a labor of love! It absolutely shows, though, and your ultra-high standard comes through so clearly through your music. All of the balancing, transitions, note modulation, everything... I wouldn't be surprised if you spent an hour just getting a single measure to sound perfect, but your efforts are so appreciated, and I hope you like to make remixes as much as we enjoy listening to them!
And yeah, I imagine that the entire process - from idea to finished remix - takes much longer than the time spent in the actual software. In any case, thank you for the reply! ^_^
