To quote Billy McBride, "Goliath season 2 is some weird shit". First off our hero failed to defeat Goliath in season 2 and barely escapes with his life, after all he isn't Jason Bourne and each episode led to another brick wall. I know Mexico has a reputation as being corrupt and killings and torture seem to be tolerated there, so the whole story may be just a warning of what could happen in the U.S. and we should take heed because even Billy McBride can't help you if Mexican Drug Cartels gain power in the U.S.
yall realised Marisol endulged Tom's fetish (I guess as a thank you for his campaign funding) when she revealed to Billy that she did some crazy shit back in the day...where she let a guy tie her up so she appeared to have no arms and legs and that is what got him off (remember what Tom was doing to Billy's paralegal when Patty called her to warn her). This season left me speechless, upset, searching for closure. I ran into season 3 episode 1 hoping for a continuation. I just finished the episode, and went to bed hurt. Season 1 was epic though, I am still hoping for redemption and that Marisol and her 'brother' pay dearly!
Going more in depth...i dont always need a happy ending. Examples of endings that werent happy that i liked: China Town, Requim for a Dream(not something i want to see agajn), the bicycle thief... Look at Game of Throwns; one could argue that its not a happy ending but thats not the reason its bad. Unemotionally fulfilling. Its like it needed one more episode or something...
The ending was just fuckin creepy with Wyatt’s amputation. I kind of figured when I first saw him amputating the hand from the guy and leg from the girl, that it was some form of punishment for something they did against the cartel. But it didn’t freak me out, what freaked me the hell out is when he amputated all Wyatt’s limbs and he was conscious but not freaked out because he was medically high.
I didn't like that amputation stuff, especially Wyatt's sexual urge related to stumps, over-the-top on the crazy meter. And think about it, Billy actually made everything a lot worse, he caused the cartel to go on a massive killing spree. The corrupt cop's entire family was wiped-out by the metal claw guy and he didn't get comeuppance. The positives are the production values were really high and the cinematography was solid. I would give the show an 8.5 out of 10, because even with a failed script, it was really well-done.
Ha! I forgot about the metal claw guy! He totally go away! Oh season 3...you better bring it! I don't really blame Billy for the massive killing spree. That's their whole mo. One could argue he put the focus on the cops family. But, how do you keep the Cartel from doing that? Isn't it his fault for working for the cartel in the first place?
Aeric Adams I was reading the Amazon reviews (mostly bad, but entertaining). Someone brought up David Cross's clown wig, same as you. Lots of disappointment from Season 1 fans, and most of their points were valid. Did you catch the Carl's Jr. product placement? I wondered to myself how much Carls paid the production company to feature their burgers.
I just watched Eps 3 last night and I'm starting Eps 4 in a few. I don't understand after "Tito" was caught, why didn't they just pin everything on him?? The kid goes free= Mayor happy, the real killer (Tito) is in jail or dead(to keep him from talking), trial is over. Roll Credits......
That's a good question about Tito. Just taking a stab at it: Things had gotten more complicated. Gabriel the crime boss isn't likely to like loose ends. The kid alive is a loose end and I don't think Billy could let go of the case being that his friend was shot and died in his arms. And Tito was a triggerman not the orderer of the killings. And since people know that...the story becomes who ordered the killings and is the kid safe.
Great review my man. You put my thoughts into words. According to X-Ray the producers wanted Marisol to win Round 1 as part of a larger battle between her and Billy. I’m already looking forward to Season 3.
I thought so. It's hard to know that was the plan, but it has to be. Too much thought goes into these things. I wish there was some clue or easter egg that says...maybe he has a plan. More than Billy thinking about...something.
The ending sucked, it made sense but was kinda frustrating, but it was less problematic than last year : I thought the 7 first episodes of season 1 were fucking stellar, and the last one was a disaster that almost ruined everything, while this year... everything was kinda average, except Mark Duplass as the psycho Wyatt, episode 7, and a few interesting story lines. Not bad, but nothing remotely memorable, despite Billy Bob, who didn't have much to do in the end (how long was he in a court room ?). As a matter of fact, it feels like that season didn't have an ending.
I agree about this season. Why did you think episode 8 was a disaster for the first season? I think the showdown could have been more epic, but at least there was closure. And Billy got them good!
I know I'm late to the party, so to speak, just finished season 2 of Goliath, watching season 3, on episode 3, and it's all kind of crazy. Did you watch season 3 yet? Liked your review of season 2!
I did watch season 3... Without saying too much I wanted more of a connection to season 2. From where you are you can already tell the tonal differences. For sure weirder
Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the review and I gave ya a like but… those incoming text alerts……OUCH😳 Anyway, the ending of this series really sucked. After it was over I was like. “THATS IT??”🤨. I guess that’s just how the producer wanted it to be unique. Not too unlike reality, I guess lol.
I'm glad someone else feels the same way. The ending was disappointing. It didn't feel like a good ending at all.

I certainly hope that's not the moral of the story.

In reality? The good guys don't always win! We don't always get happy endings. I liked it. X

That was messed up then pulled the tongue of a super yakker to boot. It was more disturbing than a David Lynch movie.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but after Tom Wyatt was amputated...was he thrown away in a trash bin? I seem to remember seeing that as a scene.
