    You back at this "hole" again. I just re saw the video of when you went there originally. Nothing changed, Lol!! I always said you must have strong legs b/c of all the walking & riding you do. Now I think your arms are strong too. Carrying your bike down the stairs of subway is no easy task. 😁🏋🏽‍♂️🚶🏽‍♂️🚴🏽‍♂️😉

    • @retroguy9494
      @retroguy9494 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You CAN'T do anything about the flooding. It's called "the hole" because its LITERALLY 30 feet below grade. And it sits right on top of the water table. This is why it isn't and cannot be connected to the city sewer system. The only way to remediate it would be to level everything and fill in those 5 blocks with soil or something. But do you have any idea what that would cost??? Pigs will fly over City Hall before they do anything about that area! Especially since its not exactly the Rockefeller's living there!

      Wow I just saw this video I’m fairly new and have been going through old videos when I have time. This was a big shock to my system. I never expected to see conditions like this. May I ask what area this is in? I’m not from the NYC area.

      @@paulabarton9493 Welcome! I remember when I first started with TH-cam back in 2005! And I've seen a LOT if changes since, none for the better!
      To answer your question, "the hole" is in East New York. It literally straddles itself between two boroughs, Brooklyn and Queens. New York City is made up of 5 boroughs.
      Could you ever imagine parts of the United States let alone New York City looking like that? This kind of area is more common in American cities than people realize.

    • @paulabarton9493
      @paulabarton9493 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So sad to see. The majority of poverty in the US can be traced back to poor life choices.

      Poor life choices like who birthed me?

      @@rbu500 Strawman argument. Being born into poverty in the United States does not guarantee you'll be living in poverty later on in life. I'm talking about choices like substance abuse, being a criminal, not managing money well, dropping out of school, spending all your income, not exercising common sense, being lazy, choosing not to work, having children before you're married, having children when you can't afford them, always adopting a victim mentality, or any combination of those factors. Things like those are the leading causes of poverty in this nation.

      So sorry you see it this way. Many employed Americans are one illness or accident away from homelessness and poverty.
