    Wow. Look at all of the awesome critical advice from the experts in these comments. Makes you wonder if they're such experts at loading a 252 FSH why they're wasting 5 minutes watching a video on how to load one instead of making their own content for people to criticize. 🙄
    Thanks for the video and the tips.

      I’m glad you took the video what it was intended for as an alternative solution to avoid scratching the hull with the stock rollers.

    I’m impressed with the fact that you’re pulling that boat with a Frontier. I’m about to get the same boat and someone asked me if my Titan could pull it. Had me wondering if I should get a smaller boat. Thank you for the great video.

      Thanks for the comment. It all depends on your trucks set up. This little frontier has added leaf springs and airbags so it hauls it with no sagging. The loud noise it made in this video is because it did not have a regulated muffler at the time. A lot of people are ignorant about hauling boats I have so many comments on the little trucks tow load rating from stock and no one realizes it has modifications. I always say we are from Florida I think we know what we are doing no winterizing here if you get my drift… 🤣 we are out on the water at least once a week if not 2 or 3

      This will be my first boat. My Dad always had boats, but the smaller variety. As a kid we had a Datsun B210 with a welded hitch pulling a 15 foot. Got a lot of looks. Lol
      I’m on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since retiring from the AF in 2016. It’s taken some time to realize the dream and I hope to be on the water year round as well.

      @@gabepeterson4420 glad to hear you are taking the plug, just please make sure you have time to use it. Boats deteriórate whether you use them or not. This is why people complain about them at the time. When using in saltwater you also have to be extremely meticulous with the care and maintenance.

      Your Titan if it's a 2016+ should be able to tow about 10k no problem. The 255 FSH with fuel and gear won't come close to that.

      @@LIV305 Hauling is seldom the problem with smaller trucks...it's the stopping under certain conditions (high speed). I not only pull my 6K boat/trailer with a Ridgeline (rated at 5500lbs) around the area but where I"m at I need go over 25 mph. I leave the high speed to my Vw Touareg TDI that is good for 8K towing. The Superduty crowd gets their panties in a bunch as they think I'm towing with a Santa Fe or an Explorer.

  • @redman2751
    @redman2751 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don’t quite understand. I’m assuming you’ve tried several ways and came to this way as the answer. However if the bow rollers are scratching the boat. Why not drop the trailer to where the fenders are just barely above water and then pull the boat onto the trailer and which it the rest of the way from that point. No need to move the truck then. Also have you tried different ramps. I just went to a new ramp and had to move the trailer a couple times to get it to the right spot yet I had it right where I normally put it on the other ramps I frequent. Just some ideas for ya.

      Thanks I appreciate your input. This is our main marina and definitely best marina in South Florida. I would not go to any others unless friends are staying in the keys or whatnot. This is the max that the truck can back in, in order to avoid dragging the bunkers on the bottom aswell. We are very careful with her she pretty much never touches anything besides water and seaweed.

    Love the boat, but an old Frontier’s an odd choice for towpig for that boat and trailer combo which weigh over 7000 lbs according to Yamaha’s website. Certainly over the frontier’s max tow rating. $85k for a boat, and $15k for a little truck? Seems kinda off.

    • @LIV305
      @LIV305  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment, this truck is actually over $30k msrp since it is a nismo edition we also have a larger truck and Jeep. Not sure what’s “off” about any of these vehicles and what price has to do with anything to do with it if you tow with air bags/proper suspension, live 5 miles from the water and keep boat in Marina… I would be more concerned on how many people buy these boats and 1million dollar boats and go to an island or sandbar

    I’ll be pondering the Yamaha FSH 25 vs a more standard Robalo 23 or similar. What are your thoughts on owning a jet drive vs. Thanks. Good info

    • @LIV305
      @LIV305  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only con of jet drive is you have to be more mindful going over debris/sea grass etc
      You are going to feel a little bit more pull or resistance on the helm at operating speeds compared to having a low unit underwater.
      Just a learning curb no big deal.
      Pros would be, haul shot mid range acceleration is superior than outboard.
      Boat will plane out quicker.
      Safety in stern area and access to water.
      No propeller exposed.

    • @RichardNoggin-iw7sh
      @RichardNoggin-iw7sh 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Jet boats skid a lot in the wind as they don’t have the “keel” of the outdrive to help hold the stern. You also need to look at fuel economy, the 255 is going to use more fuel than a Robalo with a 200 hp outboard. The advantage of the 255 is in its cost, bang for the buck you can beat the Yamaha Jet boats, and their performance. The 255 is a sexy beast that accelerates and turns like a sports car on the water.
