I would like to see videos comparing series compare and contrast SX220,AR220, up to the 222XD. Also, how each handle on the water compare and contrast.
Great video! One question, do y’all sell cushions that fit the bow area? The 220 FSH Sport does not come with seat cushions. Thanks and keep the videos coming!
How loud is the jet boat motors when taking off and you get going ? Is it louder than an outboard motor . I never rode in a jet boat but really like the fsh. Hoping it's not too loud and can here the radio and talk to people. Thanks
They are louder than an outboard but much quieter than the old two stroke models. I can hear the music fine on mine and I can carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to me without shouting as long as the music is not blasting.
Awesome review, so much good information. Great comparison, if you didn’t like this content you don’t like ice cream! Appreciate you sharing. Keep the great content coming. Thanks again, Billy D
A lot of the center consoles I have been in need trim tabs. I don’t see any on these or mentioned. How is the pitch on these boats with let’s say 7-8 adults?
We've since added Seakeeper Ride to both our FSH models and it helped a ton! Without the ride was ok, but with the ride is much more enjoyable for everyone and I find that I spend less time steering the boat and more time enjoying the ride. RIDE reduced pitch and roll by 70%
We've not had issues and we boat in areas that have grass from time to time. The clean out ports are handy for that scenario. If you get a clog, just remove the port and remove the clog. Then install the port again and off you go.
Can you recommend a good shop to outfit these w a trolling motor, batteries and charging, upgraded fishing electronics, the sea keeper, VHF, and ensure it’s all level?
Do you know what size anchor fits in the anchor holder for the 222 FSH? The Yamaha one I got with boat doesn’t fit. The shaft isn’t long enough to fit into the clips.
Trailer question?, I got the 255 FSH Sport E, 2024. im trying to set up my settings brake type on my truck, its an electric, EOH or surge. New in the jet boat world.TIA
Great video. Also, the 25 is about $24k more than the 22. Would love some input into how the 22 handles running offshore 5-10-15 miles in 2-3 ft with the hull design etc.
where can one get the marine mat for the rear deck area (where the cooler and leaning post are)? for the 2024 FSH 222 Sport E? We have the "warm" cool interior as well. *Update I found your marine mat kits for the FSH 222 but the complete cock pit kit comes with marine mat I already have, just need the rear deck area where the cooler and the two jump seats are. Make a kit for that area.
What gas is required for the 255? Having a hard time getting search results online for “super unleaded” marine grade gas. Are you referring to 90 octane vs 87/88? Or something even higher?
Thanks bud, but I’m still not sure I’ve ever seen anything over 90 octane rating on the lakes we run. When I hear super, I’m thinking 93 like we see at car gas pumps, which I don’t put in our boats. Was just wondering whether the manual specifies a minimum octane rating. Love your videos, cheers!
Price difference when we bought was about $10K, rough water handling has been good in the Gulf (Panama City Florida), 21 rides a touch better because it's longer and heavier but honestly both ride well enough that I'd feel safe bringing my family along on a regular day here in the Panhandle. Check out our rough water ride video on the 18 footer.
So you can troll off of the cockpit tower but no water skiing or Wake boarding? You'd think that for the sticker price of those boats, Yamaha could have made sure that the tower was strong enough? It's like selling a customer a pickup truck and telling them not to use the tow package for an eight foot utility trailer.
Does anybody know what the “out the door” price would be on a 222 FSH Sport E? I was quoted $88k. I’m having a hard time understanding $15k in taxes and dealer fees.
That boat should sell for $74k plus dealer fees of $4000 and taxes of $5000ish so $83k is max I'd pay. Sounds like the dealer you are dealing with is still charging covid prices. I'd suggest you move on to a dealer that is paying attention to the current market.
@@JetBoatPilot Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It just wasn’t adding up. I found a couple dealers listing at 69,999 for the 2023 222 FSH SPORT E.
I want to love these boats but there is just no floor space for fishing. The rear of the boat offers such little menueverability. I wish they had transom layout options with some that aren’t geared so heavily towards pleasure boating / swimming. Make that all fishable space!!
I agree with this. For the purist fisherman the rear of the boat could be more of a flat deck or a wrap around cockpit. Right now there's too many things to have to look out for while you're walking back there and it would be easy to trip if you were not paying close attention. A single level swim platform would be helpful with this. That's one thing I like about the Scarab 255 with the tail gate folded down.
I just bought a 2024 252 fsh with the new 1.9L engines and so far the boat does great in rough waves. Only issue is if you get cross to the direction of waves (think head on but at say a 45° angle) the boat wants to steer side to side. I'm sure it's all her boats, but this is my first and it for sure requires much more course correction to stay in a straight line at lower speeds than an outboard or a prop driven boat. And this may be just my boat, but it seems to want to pull to one side at higher speeds.
Since 2017 most Yamaha boats have the new keel design which does stabilize the boat to some degree, but they are also lightweight so they do not ride as smooth as a 7000 pound cc.
Well, I couldn't care less about FSH boats, but I watched anyway because I enjoy your videos and you hardly show anything that I am interested in anymore. I keep thinking that the overhead panel would be a great place to mount the emergency VHF radio.
I absolutely love jet boats, but I think they are moving in the wrong direction, They need add a trim and stop trying to improve stability, the older Yamaha ride plates were way more fun, it gave the boat character Shame
HECK YEAH!!!
Really wanted a comparison video between these two!!
I’m torn on which way to go!
Thank you for giving a really thorough comparison of these 2 great boats.

We can get them for you yes
I don't know about catching 50pd stripe bass in the ocean on the back of the 255. Off the side and the front is perfect. Man tuff decision
How many times are you going to have a 50lb striper on your line though? If it’s a frequent occurrence for you then damn I’m totally jealous lol

Is the top capable of radar and out riggers?
Great job. We own an AR190 and can’t wait to upgrade to an FSH 252 or 255.

Can you go to Bimini from Miami with this boat ?
My buddies are telling me not to get the 255 because of the areas we go with sea weed. What are your thought's about that?
We've not had issues and we boat in areas that have grass from time to time. The clean out ports are handy for that scenario. If you get a clog, just remove the port and remove the clog. Then install the port again and off you go.

Hoping to own one of these one day
They're both excellent!
Do you know what size anchor fits in the anchor holder for the 222 FSH? The Yamaha one I got with boat doesn’t fit. The shaft isn’t long enough to fit into the clips.
We moved our anchor hangers inward a bit and use a Fortress FX-7 fluke style anchor. Works great.
Can both of these boats accept a bow trolling motor for fishing?
Yes they both come with mount brackets.
is it possible to take off the roof and the frame that holds it?
Yes for sure. It is bolted on.
How come on the back of your 255 swim platform you have sea-deck but every other one I see does not have that?
We manufacture it and install it here.

If the fresh water tank was full, does it have enough pressure/water flow to flush the engines one at a time?
Not sure, likely not enough for both engines but pressure is good enough.
