The second city in Greece, in terms of size and importance, in the wider city area has slightly more than 1,100,000 permanent residents.
The city was founded by King Cassander in 316 BC and he named it after his wife and half-sister of Alexander the Great...Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki got her name from her father,Philip II of Macedonia ,after the victory over the inhabitants of Thessaly, so it is derived from the words: Thessaly and victory, that is, Thessaly and "NIKA".

In earlier times, this city had a large salt factory, so the Turks call it "SELANIK" and hence our name for one of the most beautiful cities in Europe - "SOLUN".

Svaka čast. Lepo urađen video, sa puno podataka. Sve sam to obišao, ali trebalo je dosta istraživanja. Nekome ko nije bio ovo će pružiti mnogo korisnih podataka i uštedeti puno vremena.
Da i su počele gužve zbog radova na obilaznici? Kako to funkcioniše?
Hvalaaaa puno!!!Nema još uvek većih gužvi a zabranili su zaustavljanje i parkiranje u Tsimiski i Ignatia ulici kao alternativi ako dodje do delimičnih zatvaranja ring road-a.Lično ne očekujem to pa I ako bude verujem da će se noću odvijati najteži radovi ali videćemo.Sredinom maja idem do Pefkohorija pa ćemo videti.Postoji sajt sa live stanjem fly over projekta gde se na mapi mogu videti trenutne gužve .Ispod ti je link…

@@HellasHeavensHvala na brzom odovoru. Mi ćemo ove godine (ponovo) na Amuljani. Ići ćemo preko Dojrana i uključićem se na Egnatia Odos (autoput ka Tasosu), tako da Ring nećemo ni videti. Posle ili na Stavros ili ćemo između dva jezera na Arneu pa odatle na Jerisos. Mada, često se odlučimo da dođemo i dva puta, pa valja imati informacije.

Tesaloniki, kao zensko ime postoji I u makedonskom jeziku, kao Soluna.😊
Kolika je temperatura u Solunu ovih dana?
Vreme je izuzetno,većim delom dana jakna nije potrebna a dnevna se kreće od 15,16 stepeni Pa i do 20…
@@HellasHeavens Super lepo i suncano.Kod mene u Norveskoj 2 stepena i jos pola metra snega koji ce otici tek u aprilu.-maju.
