You then would fill out his name, position, ht, wt, what college he went to, and then you would have some combine drills and the wonderlic test. All of these things would have some bearing on your ratings. Then you would get randomly drafted in whatever round by whatever team based on your attributes.
If I remember correctly, if you played NFL Street, and had it saved on the memory card. You could load that player into the draft. Imagine my surprise, a QB with the running abilities of a RB and the QB skills of a punter lol amazing times.

If people are dumb enough to shell out $70 for what is literally the same game over and over again, then it's really no surprise that the devs/publisher will essentially copy and paste last years game until they absolutely have to put in at least a little effort to develop new things. i mean, if you knew that you can put out a minimum-effort roster update and still make several hundred million dollars on it, would you pass on that opportunity? Most people would not. It's a cash cow. They don't have to put in any significant effort and it still sells a lot. And no, throwing money at it doesn't make it a better game. They're capitalists through and through. Even if you thrown 100 billion dollars at them it would just go to their billionaires. A regular EA employee wouldn't see a single dollar out of that. Nor would their projects.
I haven't bought a 2k or Madden on release day since 2020 because of quarantine, ever since I probably play the free trial to see the gameplay or what's "new" . I think they won't actually put in the effort to make the game fun again or add anything new until one of these Madden's do terrible sales but who knows?

For 50 dollars you can have a in home visit by a local massage parlor. Another 10 bucks he gets a happy ending which will boost his happiness attribute till the playoffs.

Well the PGA Tour game is mostly all new. Most realistic course physics, which are different for each. Many more shot types and upgraded graphics. The last game came out in 2015 which was completely different.

Mini games, you know those things we had back in 2006 and weren't just slapped on extras. This was how you actually scouted players. Sure you had the combine numbers, but just because a guy's 40 time said he should be 90+ speed didn't always mean that he did. Perhaps he was a quick accelerator with 80's speed. You could find that out by taking your guy through some mini camp drills. The same drills were also used to gain points to invest in some player stats.
i didnt play madden until madden 16, how did madden just get rid of all their best features 😭 every other game has expanded its features since like PS2, they did more on a half gb ps2 memory card than their 100gb games now

I already own Madden 24. The community has been on the ball with daily roster updates including the entire 2023 draft class. Once 24 launches we can just copy the stats exact if we want. This game isn't even worth an Origin subscription or whatever they call it now. As a Raiders fan I do wish that John Madden's name wasn't tied to this trash any longer.

For Madden 25 we scanned every players dental records. You can see braces and life like fillings. With the new emotion engine when your player is sad you purchase teddy bears, a hug, or a call from their mother. Each item delivers a different boost to his happiness. For 50 dollars you can have a in home visit by a local massage parlor. Another 10 bucks he gets a happy ending which will boost his happiness attribute till the playoffs.

Well the PGA Tour game is mostly all new. Most realistic course physics, which are different for each. Many more shot types and upgraded graphics. The last game came out in 2015 which was completely different.
The last madden I bought was 17 I won 18 during a giveaway but it’s the same shit. I try the 10hr trails to see and it’s nothing special

Mini games, you know those things we had back in 2006 and weren't just slapped on extras. This was how you actually scouted players. Sure you had the combine numbers, but just because a guy's 40 time said he should be 90+ speed didn't always mean that he did. Perhaps he was a quick accelerator with 80's speed. You could find that out by taking your guy through some mini camp drills. The same drills were also used to gain points to invest in some player stats.
They had them in 05 as training camp between seasons in franchise.

i didnt play madden until madden 16, how did madden just get rid of all their best features 😭 every other game has expanded its features since like PS2, they did more on a half gb ps2 memory card than their 100gb games now

1) They eliminated their competition by purchasing the exclusive NFL/NFLPA license.
2) The introduction of MUT mode.
3) They got lazy. They aren't forced to include/progress anything other than the bare minimum for MUT because that's the mode that brings them in the $.

EA has pretty much the exclusive game for soccer but FIFA is still way better than Madden. It’s still just weird to me Madden can’t be at least as good as FIFA, maybe because more people play FIFA.
It’s amazing how EA has mastered the art of making an update disguised as an entire new game.
So you want them to completely overhaul the game and make a completely new games new movements new graphics knew everything every year… Such a dumb take

I’ve been mad at Madden since 2009!! I can’t anymore with this shit for a company … can they allow us to do button configurations?? Because 80% of the people that would like to play Madden would like to put the controls back to the way it was …triangle to catch…L1 to swat the ball down. The fact that you can’t configure the controls to your liking is one of the main issues with Madden!

I already own Madden 24. The community has been on the ball with daily roster updates including the entire 2023 draft class. Once 24 launches we can just copy the stats exact if we want. This game isn't even worth an Origin subscription or whatever they call it now.
As a Raiders fan I do wish that John Madden's name wasn't tied to this trash any longer.
