    Thanks for the information. Where I am, northern province, the chief gives a certificate of ownership, signed and stamped.

      I think that works fine if it secures the land in the area.

    This was so helpful, but i feel like the process is long and the cost can amount to a state land ( statutory land)

    Approximately how much can the whole process take to finish the transition

    • @MatildaChungu
      @MatildaChungu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends with the surveyor you find, the size of your plot, location of your plot etc.

      @@MatildaChungu oh and this may be a silly question but does one need to know local languages when buying land traditionaly

    • @MatildaChungu
      @MatildaChungu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aaronmbuzi3369 Glad you asked... There is no need but it would be to your advantage (case in example are the Chinese, they make sure to learn the local language so its easier for them to get things done)

    Does traditional land have annual property taxes? And are there building permits? Lastly, what percentage of people convert traditional land into state land?

    • @MatildaChungu
      @MatildaChungu  ปีที่แล้ว

      1. not to the state, maybe to the local leaders if they have that in place.
      2. yes you can get a building permit in Zambia
      3. a lot of people convert to state land

    Overall how long does this whole process take??

    • @MatildaChungu
      @MatildaChungu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will take you more than a month because of the different stages and also you may not be available for a particular date and you may need to postpone some things so it is hard to say the exact time you will take

    After all the legal expenses to get a title on traditional land doesn't it amount to the same cost as statutory land

    • @MatildaChungu
      @MatildaChungu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can

    • @MatildaChungu
      @MatildaChungu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And there are some requirements you must meet

    • @nkhosiamankhosi1454
      @nkhosiamankhosi1454 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to Zambian laws a foreigner can not outright own land.
      You can buy land as an investor with an investment of $500k or more but further requirements still follow. For instance the $500k is for an investment license but you must satisfy authorities that the said company is going to be a functional entity.
